"ah my mistake, you are an outsider, I do not expect you to understand... We all report to Shenoh, Mori included, but Mori being an advisor is in charge of her own delegation of soldiers. When you ask if I report to shenoh, the answer is yes, but I also report to Mori, as does my platoon." A forgiving look in the Aarakocran's beady eyes he gives a shirt bow to vin before turning to Elthana and asking her a question in Auran...
There is a pause, as Elthana obviously doesn't know what she is being asked and is suddenly put on the spot, but clearing his throat, Griff steps forward and responds. As he does he gestures to Vin and then spelats one arm out wide, his body language betraying distinctly that he is talking about something large or very far away. You then hear the word Mori dropped into the mix and then as Griff gestures towards himself he continues speaking, the word Akiin can be heard twice before. Griff then switches back to common and finishes with, "...and that is why whilst we are being in the presence of such special guests, we must be speaking the trade language. You are understanding of course, those of your platoon who are not being able to speak or not being speaking it very goodly, are not to be addressing Mori at this time."
The explanation, majority of it in auran, that Griff cleared up for them seems to have stated any confusion or curiousity in the majority of the group, but several members are not convinced. (Elthana roll me a performance with advantage from the help)
Muir stands by silently waiting for a crutch or something to help him walk, not wanting to insert himself into this back and forth dance that's walked into.
"Well you said you were reporting directly to Shenoh, but I guess that means something different where I am from. If you have two chains of command, so be it", Vin replies with a shrug, before letting Griff and Elthana resolve the issue of language.
When Griff motions to him he tries to stand a little straighter and more formally.
"there has to be a chain of command" the Aarakocran says as another guard returns with a crutch for Muir, it is strange and short, the guard helps Muir place it under his arm comfortably and then straps it to his shoulder. The black stick then lifts slightly, levitating, just a little, to ease the pressure on Muir's bad leg. "Well, now that that is sorted, have you made a decision? Wait here for the green one and items or follow and find them?" He looks directly at 'Mori' waiting on a response.
Elthana is torn, but as she looks at Muir again, she doesn't think she wants to face Sam anytime soon. How COULD he?? Not only that, if they waited around here any longer, she is worried that the guards might figure out her ruse, it's been pretty touch and go so far as it is.
"We need to go to Shenoh. The green one and items can meet us there. Let's move." She hopes Gewyn has a good start with the leader of this strange place.
"As you wish", Vin says to Elthana, making sure he has got all his things and is ready to travel.
It is all spinning a little out of control at the moment, and he decides not to reveal Neferox at this time. Muir being without his belongings is not ideal, but he can't argue with Elthana's choice. There is no good option right now.
And putting Sam and Muir face to face in front of Shenoh might go badly, but that particular reunion is destined to be a mess whenever it happens.
"one of your wyverns is stabled nearby." The Aarakocran states before leading the group down the spire once more, closely followed by a handful of guard escort including the two black cloaked spellcasters.
This time before exiting into the grand internal sphere where the city lies curling up the walls at every angle, instead the group is led off to a large side corridor within the spire the corridor opens up to rows and rows of stalls. The two rocs familiar trilling and snoring can be heard from one such stall in which they are both bedded down together. The Aarakocran stops outside of another, unlocking and swinging open the high crystal gates Elthana is met face to face with a large black wyvern, it bares it's teeth at the aarakocra as he readies the saddle, turning to you the aarakocran nod to Elthana inviting her to calm the beast before he prepares it for travel.
'One of your wyverns is stabled nearby', Vin repeats in his mind. Meaning that another is at their destination, having been ridden by the real Mori. Well, Nivara. He is not sure whether it is a positive sign that Nivara needs transport to get around here. It would have been easy to envisage her growing bat wings and flying herself, such is her reputation. Or is it just Mori that needed the wyvern?
But Elthana is not Mori. He is pretty sure that physically she will pass the test, in that the wyvern will sense Elthana is Mori. But he is not so sure Elthana knows how to handle a Wyvern.
He can do nothing but wait and be ready. And so he remains wary, and keeps a particular eye on those black cloaks.
She was not ready for this. She wonders how long she will be able to keep up this ruse. She knew once they got where they were headed all things were off the table as she was sure that is where Mori actually is. Is this whole thing folly? I mean they were going to take them captive and take them there anyways, and now that they were deceiving them.. she inwardly sighs, this was probably the wrong way to go.
But, no turning back now, they needed to get to Shenoh and get them on their side, she really hoped Gewyn had laid some ground work there. On that thought, she realized she was hanging a lot on the changling and that wasn't fair.
Back to the task at hand, she takes a deep breath and thinks about how Sam had approached each of his animal friends the first time, especially Olga. Funny how easily he was able to create such a bond with the lion. She gives a slight bow to the magnificent creature, hopefully showing them respect that they deserved. She then walks up to them murmuring under her breath.
As Elthana gets closer the wyvern sniffs and reacts. Elthana hears "don't move, don't blink" from the little floral dragonling sitting invisibly upon her shoulder, the large wyvern screams in Elthana's face, it's teeth mere inches from her nose. Everyone takes a cautious step back, some of the guard even ready weapons, everyone but Elthana who remains stock still, glowering, the wyvern locks eyes with Elthana and a battle of wills, a stare off begins. It is not long before the wyvern realises it's intimidation tactics are not working and it relents, bowing it's head and allowing Elthana to pet it and climb aboard.
With the beast successfully calmed it seems the guards are now fully convinced that this is the real Mori, the Aarakocran prepares and secures the single saddle to the wyvern ready for Elthana's travel. Freeing up space on the broom, Bry'ze, for Muir and vin.
Vin watches Elthana and is impressed, even spending a moment wondering himself if this was Elthana after all.
He waits patiently whilst the wyvern is saddled, and when she mounts up and no provision is made for Muir, he looks at the size of the loxodon and frowns.
"I'm not sure Bry'Ze can handle our combined weight. In fact, I'm almost certain they can't'.
Muir looks at Vin and then the broom "Yes, I suppose you're right even with my missing body parts" Muir smiles and winks at Vin "No worries...I will allow Mori and her company to provide a ride unless I can ride my friends here"Muir says loud enough for Mori to hear
One of the guards approaches and gives Muir a quick noncommittal bow, before gesturing over to some giant eagles in the stables behind. The Aarakocran then translates for Muir, "these are our beats of burden if you are wishing you can pick one you feel connecting with you and use it for this short trip"
Spiro I could kiss you, Elthana thinks. She stands there, impressed by the beast in front of her. As she wins the intimidation, she sits on top of the wyvern, feeling the power between her legs and wonders how in the hell she got herself there. At least these guards believe she is Mori. Who knows, maybe they can trick others to think that the real Mori is an imposter. Yeah right...
Completely lost in her own thoughts, she doesn't really pay attention to the ride situation of her friends, mainly in awe of the beast she is about to ride.

At least Muir has help travelling now.

Animal Handling: 24! crit!

"Ah what majestical creatures. May I speak with my friends here before I ride one of your eagles?"
A nod from the Aarakocra to Muir as his guard begin readying for the flight, though Griff and the other aarakocra have no need of transportation.
Spiro I could kiss you, Elthana thinks. She stands there, impressed by the beast in front of her. Muir nods and thanks the guard before approaching his Roc friends
Vin just waits for Muir to have his conversation with the Rocs, calling for Bry'Ze so he can sit down whilst he does so.
Muir finishes squawking with his bird friends and chooses an eagle with kind eyes much like his own.
