((there's like 3 times happening at once right now, Muir talking to the voice, Vin and Sam chatting a bit and Gewyn and Elthana sparring?))
As Muir shouts into the wind Sam just stares at him like he is a complete head case and wonders what the what is going on...
No more with Vin unless Vin has more...
Watching the sparring Sam narrows his eyes and does his best to note each fighters strengths. All in all he has to accept that both are quicker and more nimble than he... But Sam is pretty sure if he got a couple good hits in that would slow them down... Not that he plans on fighting them, mind ya...
The whirls wind stops, and forms a face on the front of it, turning to look at Muir.
Muir and gewyn both hear;
"The large one is speaking at me, um Uhhh... I DONT UNDERSTAND, YOU FEATHERLESS WEIRDO"
Sam is surprised to see gewyn land a couple of hits on Elthana, the tiefling appears to be quite fast, Sam also still doesn't see the symbol in the tree however hard he tries and gives up, but for him and the others who were not aware, the whirlwind now has a face and looks very confused at everyone as it slowly backs away...
Muir wonders out loud "Perhaps your symbol Gewyn will allow us to communicate?" With that Muir walks over to the symbol that Gewyn had said means mouth and touches it as he talks again "Can you understand me now?"
As Muir touches the tree he feels a strange warmth shock through his fingers, was it warmth? Was it just a shock? Something doesn't feel right, retracting his hand quickly the ground below him trembles for a moment and then stills.
Still unable to communicate with the wind Gewyn and Muir hear it once more.
"Magics! Get back! I'm warning you!"
The face in the whirlwind displays anger as it swells and rises, whipping around faster and faster, now catching rotten branches in its tumult and swinging them rapidly around it, the thing begins to approach.
Muir throws his hands up trying to show he means peace resigning the fact that he can't communicate with the Fey "Easy everyone....We or I have scared the Fey....Try to look like we mean no harm" Muir slowly backs away keeping his hands up and trying to look menacing
Vin seeing the face in the wind is quite surprised as he watches Muir try to diffuse the situation. Vin nods to the Elephant man and says "Umm... okay. Like this?" He puts his hands up clear from any weapon or item, kneels down to seem smaller and less threatening, and just says in a calm voice "We mean you no harm fey wind."
The wind creature, regards the notion from Muir and Vin, it slows, and shrinks once more, confused but seeming to understand. Nevertheless it turns and begins exiting the blighted area.
It feels strange that even with Muir using the old lost language that the fey creatures understand, this creature still could not.
(Anyone feel free to make arcana or history checks)
Sam is still mostly just confused. He will take a couple of steps back in solidarity with the others but he's not kneeling or putting his hands up either. He doesn't adopt a hostile stance or anything, he's too bemused for that, he's just not kneeling or surrendering to some uppity wind.
Ôrga, on the otherhand, circles Sam twice and then lays down on his right with an exaggerated lion yawn.
Elthana watches on, unsure what to think of the wind and how desperately Muir wants to contact it. She walks over to the tree, and the symbol that affected Muir. She looks around the ground where the tremble was as well.. unsure what to think of it.
The whirlwind continues it's egress, and with it wandering off, near gone, the group relaxes slightly, the air becomes calm, still once more. The new tree stands strong, a point of stubborn progress in a barren area of dessication, a symbol of strength against the invasion if nothing else, and it seems that there is nothing left to do here, but to press on and find the survivors cave.
"Did you understand a thing that just happened?" Sam asks Ôrga. Ôrga, for his part, stays silent on the matter. "I'd just as much understand the use of the damn Treasury as I do a face made of nothing but blowing wind." And with a shrug Sam starts moving again, giving Ôrga the hand signal for follow that they've been working on.
Ôrga stays laying upon the ground for a moment and considers explaining to Sam the role the Treasury plays in keeping a society of any real size functional but they decide Sam wouldn't really be able to grasp the concept beyond coins shiny and good... With a sigh they climb to their feet and plod on ofter the doofus.
"Taxes and interest and fees and charges, the damn Treasury never did a wee bit of good for anyone who didn't have more money than they knew what to do with in the first place," Sam insists. "They're all corrupt... Only you can't call them corrupt because they made their corruption legal," Sam explains to Ôrga as they saunter on. "You see when you make the laws, you can make them any damn way you want. And how do you want? You want that they make you richer and the hell with the people, that's how they want! Why I heard a rumor they are talking about making paper money. Paper! What worth is that to anybody? Well they say it'll be worth all the same, but don't you believe them. Not one bit. Why they're likely to wipe their asses with their paper money and then exchange it for your coins... And once they've exchanged it all you're sure as shitting that they're be telling you your paper is only good for what they already used it for. That's the Treasury for you, I tell you..."
As the wind whooshes away Muir quickly turns to Elthana "Your horse....how do you talk to your horse? Talk to the wind like you talk to your horse...quickly before it leaves!"
Vin watches the wind leave and seeing Muir really wanting it to stay says "Why not draw something? Like a picture showing you want it to stay? I'm a bit weirded out. Though, so many things going on and now the wind is alive too?"
If the muir's last attempt doesn't work Vin just shrugs and continues on towards the caves with the others.
Elthana looks to Muir, "How do I talk to Gust? Well... it's more of an understanding really. Not an actual spoken communication. Sorry, I know that isn't helpful." and she shrugs, ready to move on to the cave.
As Sam starts his tirade on the treasury, Elthana looks at him, unsure of what to say. As he continues calling the entire place corrupt and how they made it legal and on and on, she starts glaring at him. "I'd be careful who you say those words around." she says to him in a low monotone voice.
"What wor... Oh! Oh, sorry," Sam says with a blush as Elthana scolds him. "Sometimes I forget myself. My apologies for the language. I shall watch the cursing... Butts and crapping with ladies around from now on! I truly did not mean to offend..."
"I think it might be more along the lines of the anti-treasury grumbling hah ha" a familiar voice rings out from above, as the group near the cave where the survivors wait, Iver descends from a nearby tree with a thud, smiling at Sam and Órga, he also welcomes the rest of the group, "how went the the reconnaissance?"
The survivors camp looks quiet, Old Thicket stands rooted to the ground just Infront of the entrance to the cave, his face unseen from the outside, a gap left just big enough for humanoids and horses to pass in and out of the entrance, The more observant members of the group can see a few guards in the trees surrounding the cave. As well as Terry who appears to be fast asleep in Old Thicket's branches. Master Gore potters around outside tending to a patch of ground that appears to be free of snow, and has cultivated a few rows of root vegetables, doing his best to magically speed up their growth. A small stream of smoke trickles gently out of the cave. Things seem peaceful.
Muir who had been quiet the rest of the walk speaks up "We were able to learn quite a bit. This information will be upsetting. Perhaps we can speak with you and the leadership at once away from others who can overhear our conversations?"

Muir takes a few steps toward the wind and shouts in every language he knows "No please don't leave" (Common, Druidic, Loxodon, Sylvan and Elvish)
