"Time to start this party?" Sam asks, taking up his maul in two hands and heading towards the stairwell. "Any lest preparations before contact?"
Ôrga moves up to take their place at Sam's side but the Half Orc shakes his head. "No," he whispers. "Stay down here and guard our retreat. A nice loud roar to alert us if anything is coming up behind us, eh?"
Muir turns to Hirsi and tries to give a reassuring smile "All will be ok youngling. Stay behind me and help Orga guard the rear...Remember provide support." Muir turns to Sam "I am ready Sam"
Loyal as ever, Órga does as they are told, they pad around in a circle before laying down with their back to the deal that blocks the door, though, they don't relax fully, ears still perked and alert, they nod to Sam.
As the group ascend they quickly realise that the left hand side of the upper floor has no wall, it is more or less a viewing area, looking down upon the center arena of the trade post. Though this isn't the only place moonlight is coming from, as expected the roof has collapsed in halfway down the hallway on this side of the building, the fallen rubble provides a bit of an incline from this floor to the roof. Through this hole the bulbous fleshy red top of of a Redcap can be seen walking away, out of sight.
Neferox jumps up, resting her front paws on the railing looking down on to the center of the arena, she growls an worried growl as she squints her eyes looking for something .
"What's go her riled up?" Sam whispers to Vin, not wanting attention until his maul sends the first redcap flying. He peers in the direction Neferox seems to be to try to determine which may have caught her attention...
Sam pauses and looks around for a second. He holds up a hand for all to see, then pops up two fingers for a moment then signals to the opposite roof. "Looks like they're guarding a door to the gatehouse," Sam whispers in a hush.
Next Sam edges closer to the edge and looks down towards what he believes has Neferox all riled up. He peers for a moment and his eyes narrow and his nose crinkles up in disgust. "A puddle of something... Blood, I'm guessing? Looks foul. Bunch of bones in it. The... liquid seems... Disturbed. Down that way, middle of the arena," he continues with the hushed voice as he points down.
"This is going to be messy..." he says, mostly to himself.
"So we have two above us and two across and a disturbing pool of blood below us, is that correct?"Elthana whispers to the group. "Well, best get a move on." and she continues on up the stairs to surprise attack the ones above them.
She'll continue up until she is in combat with the first redcap, using the element of surprise. (Let me know when to roll for combat/initiative)
As Elthana climbs the rubble and pokes her head out into the rooftop she sees four redcaps standing watching an ongoing fight in the middle of town, looking out she sees one tree in the distance thrashing around whilst in fire.
One of the Redcaps kicks a stone off of the roof as it watches, it's iron boots with blades oddly jutting out of the front make a high pitched clang as it does, from this position Elthana sees that attacking these Redcaps leaves her open to be spotted by the two other Redcaps on the south side of the building.
Vin looks to the others as they ask what has Nef upset and he isn't sure himself but he replies "She's sensed something familiar that she despises... something she says we need to be careful of." He turns to nef and says "Whatever it is, let us know if it gets closer Nef. We can handle it together."
After relaying that Vin focuses on the task at hand. With several redcaps distracted and watching the fight Vin waits for folks to get in position and ready his own attacks to take the redcaps by surprise. He signals for them to attack when ready.
"Someone able to try to take out the two at range if this gets loud?" Sam asks in a hush and stealthily creeps up next to Elthana. Though if this gets loud, he thinks to himself, the two on the opposite roof won't be all they have to worry about anyway. He mentally shrugs and then makes eye contact with Elthana to indicate he is ready whenever she is...
Elthana nods at Sam and watches as everyone gets ready. Once she is satisfied, she turns to her first redcap. Taking it by surprise, she punches it in the kidneys to stun it a bit, then as it starts turning around, she jabs it in the neck to attempt to silence the creature. Her last strike again, to the neck.
If the creature drops before her last hit, she'll move on to the next.
On Elthana's cue Sam steps up and winds up with his maul. Sam targets the Redcap that Elthana didn't originally attack - with any luck they can each take one out before they can scream bloody murder, or whatever it is Recaps do...
First Attack: 14 Damage: 13but rerolling the 1 due to Great Weapon Fighting to make it a 18instead
Second Attack: 15. Damage: 13but rerolling the 2 for 12instead...
If these attacks to happen to hit, Sam would use his Crusher feat to knock the Redcap 5 feet directly up into the air... Just to watch it hover there for just a moment like a cartoon character. ((Not that Sam would know what a Wile E. Coyote was or anything... but still.))

With Sam and Elthana taking out the closest Redcaps Vin focused on the ones at range. They summon a portion of their magical power in their hand timing it so that the other redacps get hit with similar timing to that of Sam and Elthana's surprise attacks. They young man hurling the raw magical power at the first redcap. If it goes down Vin then blasts the second one otherwise they follow up with a second attack on the same target.

Neferox will help finish off any redcaps that Elthana and Sam don't slay on their first hits. The vicious hound making sure they don't survive. Otherwise they go towards the next nearest redcap and tries to maul them as quickly as possible by going for their throat with a vicious pair of bites.
With simultaneous attacks the group burst out of the hole in the roof.
Elthana hits with two of her attacks but is parried on her third attempt by a sickle that the redcap is wielding.
Sam successfully batters the crap out of his unaware Redcap sending it sprawling, it lands with a thud and a Clang as it's Iron boots make contact with the rooftop once more. It lays for a moment bloodied but still breathing.
As magic swirls, Vin deftly throws both masses of energy hitting one of the two redcaps slightly further away directly into its back hurting but also alerting both the redcaps off to that side, Neferox, leaping over her master, joins Elthana and bites down on her Redcap twice before it has a chance to attack, killing it with the hounds last effort.
(Elthana's redcap is dead, Sam's is prone, bloodied but alive, the two other Redcaps on this side of the roof are alert to your presence.)
Gewyn, still looking like a redcap, pulls out his pipes and looks at the one distant redcap who has not been injured yet. "It's okay. Be quiet. Just watch." He holds a finger up to his lips, and then begins playing a soft, sweet refrain on his pipes.
Action:suggesting: the uninjured redcap watch him play rather than raising an alarm.
Muir watches the others surprise attack the unaware Redcaps and quickly casts Thorn Whip on one of the Redcaps on the roof. He yanks them off pulling them down spiraling to the bottom floor.
The fourth redcap turns to face the commotion when gewyns pipes reach it's ears, it's initial reactive shock abates quickly and it's shoulders relax, the pulsing of its bulbous hat thrums along at pace with the tune. It's friend next to it still reeling from Vins blasts attempts to gain footing, but before it can Muir's vines come from below snatching at its ankles and sending it tumbling down into the cattle arena below.
Hirsi springs forth from the hole in the roof and bounds over to Sam, slashing at the redcap Infront of him with a scimitar, it sinks into the redcaps head but doesn't seem to do as much damage as she would have hoped (2)
Iver and his guards then pile on the redcaps Infront of Sam, surrounding the things and taking wild swings, however in an attempt to keep quiet over and the dwarf completely miss, only the elf having the finess to slice their rapier at the redcap with any degree of success, (8) even so, it still stands.

Elthana, seeing that her adversary is dead after Nef's help, moves onto the one that is prone in front of Sam. If she kills that one, she'll head for the next one.
With her first hit, Elthanas attack pulses through the redcap, its bulbous head erupts like a boil spraying blood out over the edge of the rooftop, and it lays dead at her feet, moving quickly over to the next one Elthana lands a second successful blow, but this time the Redcap only shakes its head, now not listening to Gewyns music it lifts it's sickle and deflects her third attack and readies itself to counter.
