"Jump, star, mirror?" Cob says when he spots the symbols. "What the . . .?"
He stops as Eremoz runs back. He watches him go for a moment before going closer to the pool, almost getting his feet wet but stopping just short of that. He eyes the water curiously, looking for any movement, ripples, colours, or anything at all interesting.
"well Fredrick has bought us some time, and the they know about the ancients." glancing at Karm Dvark asks "apperently they are the first civilized folks in Sabitah. You know em?"
seeing Eremos approach Dvark begins walking to him. After hearing they have found the pool he pauses "it can't be that easy, can it? Was there anything suspicious on the way there?"
“Something is weird about the hallway and there is a pillar with a bunch of runes on it. I only understood a few. I can take it if you want to search more.”
Yes it is fantastic, such a find. Sorry did i not inform... I must have been stunned by the discovery
Then with Eremoz arriving Well judging by this map of the structure something is up with the hallway. It is associated with lighning. Does that check out?
Drexon listens as Karm translates the runes, noticing that the colours on the map correspond to the runes on the crystals that are lit up.
”Thanks, that is really helpful, and I will surely take you up on the offer to reach me the basics”, he says patting Karm on the back in a friendly manner.
On hearing Eremoz and Dvark telling them of their discoveries, he turns back to the map and looks at the crystals.
“If it is lightning, would it be as simple as touching this rune to turn the effect off?”, he asks rhetorically as he puts his finger to the lightning rune.
As he does so his mind keeps ringing with the thought that they had travelled far back in time, and it was familiar to him. How is that possible?
As Dvark moves closer toward Eremoz, stepping into the corridor proper, Dvark and Eremoz, your vision turns white. Your hand stands up and you can smell the smell of frying air around you. Your entire body tingles as if a million small needles have been stuck all over your body. Your muscle locks up, but the sensation suddenly dissipates as if whatever empowering the effect has been cut off. Your vision returns and your body can move once again.
Karm, you see the entire corridor where Dvark and Eremoz are in suddenly become a solid block of white light for a moment. You can see both Dvark and Eremoz frozen in place as if they are paralyzed before they seem to shake whatever has affected them.
Back in the hidden room, Drexon presses the sky blue crystal and the crystal loses its glow. The blue highlight on the map disappears.
Cob, the surface of the pool is still. From your proximity to the pool, you can feel that it is warm. There is a hint of sulfur in the air, just like a hot spring. Without even meaning to, you can feel your body beginning to relax from the warmth and the atmosphere. It seems to be a very comfortable place to rest.
Eremoz brings the group to the pool. “I assume this is where he wanted to go.” Eremoz returns to the column to examine it further, as he does he runs his hand over the runes.
Karm would also want to investigate the monolith and the runes. Realizing that there are many languages he will take the 10 minutes it takes to understand the runes
Dvark, you don't see any markings or taints on the pool that can indicate that it is trapped or dangerous. You touch the surface of the water and it sticks to your body for a moment before being absorbed by your skin. You begin to feel better. Your wound begins to close and you feel an energy surge through your body. You think entering the pool or being in the vicinity of the pool will rejuvenate you as the name implies. Already, you can feel the humanoid figure you have been carrying stirring from the effect of the vapor in the room and reaching toward the pool as if they want to submerge themselves in it.
{{While in the room, you can benefit from a short rest. I usually put short rest at about 45 minutes to an hour, but while you are in the pool room you can take it in just 30 minutes. Does anybody enter the pool?}}
{{Eremoz, make an Intelligence check for me. Karm, you can also make this one after you complete your ritual.}}
As soon as the Ancient touches the water of the pool, they melt completely. It is quite a jarring and terrifying sight. One moment they are whole, and the next moment they drip through Dvark's fingers into the pool. You wait, fearing that you have just lost another life, but after a few heartbeats, the Ancient emerges from the other end of the pool. They are whole once again if a lot thinner than previously. Their entire legs have regenerated, easily seen under the incredibly clear water.
They look at Dvark, Drexon, and Cob and motion to join them inside the pool. They speak a long warbling sentence that you don't understand, but the hand gesture tells you that they want you to join them in the pool.
In the other room, the room with the monolith, Karm sits on the ground as he casts his spell.
Eremoz, you have none of the tools that Karm has, but as you look closer and run your hand on the monolith, you can see and feel a couple of runes that you recognize as written in the language of the giantkins. You are not quite proficient with the language, but you know two symbols that your old friend usually use when he wrote his name. One is written on the floor and it is the symbol ilie, which means Wayfarer or Traveler. The other is written nearly at the very top of the monolith and it is the symbol kand, which means Heaven or Sky.
As you look around more, you also see something that intrigues you. It is an easily mistaken symbol, but as you reorient yourself, you can see that it looks familiar. It is a symbol of five claw marks bisected by three wavy lines. The shop that your family runs have a tapestry bearing that symbol on one of the wall. You have never really given the symbol a second glance, thinking that it was just a fancy picture, but as you look at the symbol etched on the monolith, the meaning of the symbol slide into your mind. It feels just like a few moments ago when you recognize the symbol that means the Sphere without even understanding how. That symbol, the five claw marks bisected by three wavy lines, means Plainsrider and it is the name of a beastkin clan that has feline ancestry, which is interesting because as you know from your family history, beastkin never really form clans and have lived in a close-knitted nomadic society for a long time. Clans are more prominent in giantkin and dwarven society.
Eremoz sits, contemplating his findings and wondering about his people’s connection. He whispers to Karm, “I’ll be next door.”
He returns to the pool room and informs his friends, “I think the room next door had connected to some kind of travel. I recognized some of the runes. Sky, star, sphere, fast, traveler, and location. Maybe Karm will fare better.”

“This must be the pool.” Eremoz runs back to Dvark. “I think we found the pool. It’s down the hall.”

Eremoz looks at Karm, slightly confused. “Saw a white flash and felt tingly. Then we couldn’t move for a second. We got better.”

"I think that did it, I think the corridor should be clear now", Drexon calls to the others as he hurries to catch up with them.
He will accompany them to the pool room if that is where they are headed.

Dvark gently places the ancient on the ground near the pool and checks around the pool for any signs of trap also testing the water with his hand.

Drexon sticks with Dvark and Cob in the room with the pool, helping with Dvark's investigation.
He looks around himself to see if anything else is familiar.

Cob gestures at the water.
"Seems peaceful," Cob says. "Just breathing in the vapour is calming."
He looks around.
"I think you'll have to carry your new friend in but the water feels safe."
