Cob, seeing Dvark trying to get a hold of the Predator, and Eremoz closing in quickly, flies at an angle to them to get a clear view of the creature, getting a little closer, but still weary of the spines, stays at least 40' away. He thinks he understands what Drexon was doing and is tempted to move in to help him but until the others have the Predator in hand he has to try and bring that thing to its knees.
He continues with his attacks on the predator, his hand making the bow fly across his fiddle.
Agonizing Blast: Attack: 9 Damage: 12 plus necrotic damage from Hex of: 3
With the deaths of the two Footsoldiers and the threat of the Predator, Dvark and Eremoz rush away from the remaining Footsoldier toward the Predator. Both of them manage to dodge the Footsoldier's attempt to delay them, but the thickening air causes their movement to be slightly slower than they have expected. With a grunt and a muted growl, Dvark pushes himself and manages to tackle the Predator just as it is trying to strike the base of the Voidsphere again. The force of the tackle immobilizes the Predator and causes its aim to be slightly off, bouncing off the edges of the base.
Seeing Karm's successful attempt brings an idea to Drexon. With the last dregs of his magical preserve, he carefully weaves a stitch on one of the major fissures, covering it and wrapping it slowly with a purplish net. Little by little, the fissure closes itself, leaving only two major fissures, one with the red fingers still tensing and trying to open the fissure wider.
Karm notices that the Predator is incredibly insistent on destroying the base of the Voidsphere. Instinctively, it is easy to see that the Predator is attempting to destroy whatever is controlling the Voidsphere to allow the entity that seems to be trapped within to be free. Evoking a mote of fire on his palm, Karm turns his attention to injuring the Predator instead of continuing his endeavor to heal the Voidsphere. Flinging the mote of fire, it catches the inside of the Predator's armor, slipping between some loose and cracked plates. The screech and the smell of burnt flesh it emits are ghastly and nauseating.
Cob once again emits a blast of pure force toward the Predator to discourage the creature, but with Dvark's grasp on the creature and Karm's devastating attack, the predator is thrashing and moving too much for Cob to get a good enough hit. The blast glances off the Predator's shoulder armor, nearly hitting Dvark behind it.
Start of Round 6
{{Also no Wisdom check this time, but the penalty from the first failed attempt at the Voidsphere is still in effect until all fissures have been stitched. There are only 2 major fissures left to be sealed.}}
Cob, as you fly closer toward the Predator, you remember that Nalgas identified a Veistonii Necron had cast a spell pointed at the platform you and your companions are standing on. You notice that the spear of green light that is suspended in the Level 3 time lock has moved closer toward the platform since you saw it last before the Voidsphere showed visible fissures on its surface. You are unsure of how close it is without flying under the platform and checking, but the green light of the spell is definitely getting brighter.
Drexon heads over to Karm, knowing his knowledgeable friend had managed to heal the Voidsphere before.
"I have no more energy, but if you do, I think it is important to heal the sphere. I expect the ramifications will be terrible if it were to break completely", he says followed by some words of Deep Speech as he reaches out a hand to touch Karm's shoulder. He imparts on him a mote of good fortune.

{{On a melee hit or a touch to the Predator, Dvark, you take 3 necrotic damage. Eremoz, if you hit the Predator, you take 2 necrotic damage for 1 successful hit and an additional 5 necrotic damage if the Action Surge one is also targetted at the Predator. The Predator has less than 10 HP and there is still one Footsoldier at your heel.}}

With the help of Dvark, Eremoz swings his maul toward the grappled Predator. The first strike bounces off of its carapace, but with a mighty surge, he uses the bounced maul's momentum to strike the Predator once again. A sharp crack echoes through the platform as the red carapace of the Predator cracks open to show the withering grey flesh underneath. A miasma of black powder seems to come out of the Predator's skin, drying Eremoz's skin and fur when it touches his hand.
Seeing the opening, Dvark snakes his hand toward the unprotected flesh and sends a wave of necrotizing energy with a brief prayer. The Predator falls limp on Dvark's grasp, spilling some of the black powder to Dvark's skin and causing some irritation to it for a brief moment.
As soon as the Predator falls to the ground, you notice that the remaining tendrils of darkness coming out of the fissures begin to latch onto the Predator's body. Slowly, the fissures begin to widen once more. While the two stitches that Drexon and Karm had done stopped the widening of the fissures, it seems that the death of the Predator had restarted the opening of the fissures. Little by little, the red fingertips that are pushing out of the Voidsphere move further and further out of the Voidsphere.
{{Third Quarter, you are up. We are nearing the end of the combat, but the Voidsphere still has 2 major fissures on it. Also, the fallen Ancient Defender is still down and making death saves. They already fail twice so far. Save?: 14}}

Seeing what Karm is attempting, Cob moves closer to the sphere.
”Whatever we’re doing, we don’t have much time. That spell is still moving and getting closer.” Cob calls to the others, pointing out the green light slowly making its way towards them and the sphere.
Cob waves his finger from the dead predator to the foot soldier.
But instead of attacking he does his best to help with the sealing of the sphere.
Perhaps it is a distraction. Perhaps it is fate. Perhaps it is the lack of time and comprehension of the enormity of the situation before you.
While Eremoz is busy fending off an attack by the last remaining Footsoldier standing on the platform, Karm once again casts his magic out toward the Voidsphere. He weaves another prismatic string that tightens around the Voidsphere, desperately squeezing back the red glaring fingers attempting to get out. Following Karm's direction and initiative, Cob surrounds the trench with a harmonic breeze that swirls around the prismatic string, tightening and closing the fissures more.
Something has to give eventually. The power of men falters while the power of something more rises even higher as one, two, and three more thin red slender fingers push against the stitch over it. A rip and tear of the very air and magic itself reverberate across the platform and the trench. Inky blackness spread across the prismatic stitch over the Voidsphere as it unravels and shreds itself to nothing.
There is a quiet moment falling over the trench. Both Ancient and Veistonii alike stop to stare at the birth of this creature that is inside the Voidsphere. The red glowing fingers flex and a long spindly forearm pushes out of the Voidsphere harshly before the Voidsphere itself shatters. Floating in the air is a red creature curled upon itself. Its remaining long spindly limbs are held tight to its almost humanoid torso. The air thickens and thickens until breaths become short and heavy. An Ancient dares to cast a spell at the creature and the yellowish bolt of magic curves around the creature once, twice, thrice, before it is grabbed by its outstretched arm. A maw opens from its palm and swallows the spell. The creature's red glow brightens if only a minuscule.
A roar of fear and panic mixed with excitement and cheer echoes across the trench for but a moment before everything is quiet once again. You find your body unable to move, frozen either from fear of this unknown creature or something else. You can look around still and you see that none other can do even that. You seem to be frozen in time again.
A tap of footsteps breaks the silence. You turn toward the source -- toward the entrance that leads up to Level 1 -- and see a familiar face walking across the underground chasm, floating through the air toward you and the platform. His curly greying hair sways and flutters, moved by otherworldly wind. Both of his hands are snug inside the pocket of his high-collared frock coat.
"Right on time," Old Man Jiminy says, "and not a moment too soon."
He turns to look at each of you with a strange apologetic smile on his face. It is not malicious, but not benevolent either, just sad and regretful. With a touch to each of your shoulders, you begin to feel the feeling of your body again. The heaviness on your limbs disappears.
"Oh, look at you," Old Man Jiminy says to the still floating creature. "You are very old. Older than even me. Older still than my mother. Perhaps older than this world."
There is a wistful determination that passes his face briefly. He turns toward you and motions you to back away from the creature. "When you told me years ago that such a creature exists," Old Man Jiminy says to you, "I didn't believe you. Seeing it with my own eyes is a different experience. The circle has been completed for me, but it is just beginning for you. Remember this and remember this well. When the jewel tower fell, seek the peak of the weaving way. When the jade bell tolls and the red star glimmers in the sky, the door will open and the first men shall walk upon the world. Beware, beware, the Insatiable God. We will meet again. You will recognize me but I will not recognize you. Tell me that you have traveled from far away, downstream to upstream to downstream, the long roundabout way around. I will know who you are. Learn as much as you can. Learn about the past, about the present, about the future. Learn about this creature made of stardust and hunger. Curiosity will show the way."
"what are you doing? What new trick is this old man!" Dvark seems panicked and runs tosses the predetor aside. He sprints strait to the orb and attempts to dump all of his remaining will and power into it. Trying even as it has already failed to seal it once more. ((Don't think there is anything to roll Dvark is just trying everything he can))
Karm is fairly confident that he can remeber what Jiminy said, but there are two things he wants to know, piecing the context of the old man's words together.
Where will we find you? and When?
{{sorry if that is a bit too meta, but i think it could be taken from context}}
Eremoz bring his maul down to his side and takes a deep breath. He looks to the frozen Nalgas. “I don’t know if you can hear me, but I’m sorry.” Eremoz hangs his head and joins his friends.
"What occurred here has already happened," Old Man Jiminy says. "There is nothing you can do to prevent it. It is meant to happen despite my attempt to stall the tide."
He turns toward Karm and nods. "I think you understand. My part of the circle has been completed, but yours is just beginning. What happened here is supposed to happen. It is a plan one hundred years in the making. As you are now, you cannot deal with this creature of hunger and destruction. You do not even know what this creature is. You will find me when you know who or what this creature is and not a moment too soon. Another clue, perhaps: Through the ages, you must walk. The enigmatic three, the discordant two, the illusive one. The trammel, the wild, the cradle. The blue sovereign, the hidden prince, the bleeding queen. That is all I can say."
Drexon takes in everything that is going on around him and everything that has been said, trying to work through what it all meant. They would be travelling back through time?
He locks eyes with Jiminy and speaks into the old man's mind.
"I thought....I hoped....you knew me from my past, not my future", he says, surprised that at this time, with all that is going on, that his thoughts are of disappointment at missing an opportunity to learn about where he came from.
