The old tavern keeper is telling the truth, he's honestly surprised the party had shown up. He also knows his nephew us more than likely in some sort of trouble with the Order.
Most of the party hears Ranlin's scuffle with Kay from the kitchens making the rabbity old man very nervous but he stays behind the bar, some patrons however are rising from their chairs some removing weapons from concealed places....while others just look anxious to leave!
Leo comes to the kitchen doorway and sees Ranlin brandashing a short sword carrying a bag dashing towards him. The teen however darts out the back door. Ranlin says...
"What have we got here boys, something from the Order?" Ranlin will say to his teammates while holding up the bag.
The halfling easily passing Leo in the doorway with his prize he comes with a velvet sack with Medusa's sigil on it!
"No one leaves," Tyburn bellows from his vigil by the staircase. The half-orc crossing his tree trunk like arms over his chest looking menacing.
"I'm afraid he's right," Phaedra says oddly cheery at the door still leaning casually on the wall. "No need for blood shed," she then says sighing loudly. "You owe 50 gold and we'll be on our way," she adds as the old man makes a straggled sound before be begins sputtering pleas for clemencey.
OOC: You don't have to clock speed/movement in non-combat scenarios!!
Leo watches Ranlin intently as he passes by, keen to find out what the teen boy could possibly have of the Orders, hearing Phaedra Leo returns his shortsword to its scabbard on his waist and moves to follow Ranlin to look more closely at his prize.
Seeing some of the other customers drawing their weapons, Lucian slides off the barstool and pulls out his crossbow from beneath his cloak. Keeping his weapon pointed towards the floor, to the nearest one he offers, "Oh, come on now, friend. You don't want to do anything stupid like that would you? You see that one," he jabs a thumb in Tyburns direction, "we've got three more his size just waiting outside for any sign of trouble. So why don't you take a seat so no one will get hurt." Seeing Ranlin emerge from the kitchen with his spoils, he looks over his shoulder while keeping an eye on the potential troublemakers, "Uhh...you tie the kid up in the kitchen there, Champ, or did he get away?"
Ranlin dumps out the bag. He finds clothing, a small coin purse, a silver kettle, and a book...nothing else. Kay has left the building. The old man looks nervously at Phaedra at the door.
"I swear," he pleads, "ask Merrick I always pay my tithing," he adds frantic.
"Merrick I'm afraid has vanished," Phaedra replies. "Ranlin darling..." she then says her tone edged, "please tell me the boy is tied up in the back," she adds now with a grimace as Tyburn shakes his head.
"Easy job eh?," The half-orc then laughs, "you really did puss some one off didn't you," he adds as Phaedra glares at him holding up a fist that crackles with energy.
"Well newbies figure it out," Phaedra says to the group before waning Tyburn over toward the door. "50 gold or I'm selling you all down at the docks for it," she adds next without a hint of comedy in her tone...

At Phaedra's question to Ranlin, Lucian just smirks to himself, then make his way to the table where Ranlin dumped his spoils. "Killer find there, Champ,"the sarcasm is dripping from his voice. "We probably can get a whole gold piece for all this, plus whatever is in the coin purse." He walks over and looks over Leo's shoulder as he examines the book. "Did you at least see which way the kid went?"
Then he glides over to Ranlin. Stooping down, he puts a hand on the halfling's shoulder. In a low voice so Phaedra and Tyburn can't hear, "Okay, so tell me what really happened...Did you really just let him go, or did the kid slip out of your grasp?"
“That’s what you say. But fact is that the Order doesn’t have the money. So, for what concerns the Order you haven’t pay. Now, pay the Order and we could help you finding your missing money. Don’t... and there will be consequences... dire consequences. I am sure that you have more family...”
Coltra rolls his eyes "my friend is right - the choice is very simple, pay, or very bad things will happen to you and the people you care about. I don't think we can be clearer, but just in case - are you going to give us 50 gold pieces now? Yes or no? You have proven to be very annoying so far and I am losing what little patience I had, I suggest you factor that into your answer."

"I can not give you what I do not have and as for family Kay is all I have left," the tavern keeper says his tone pleading looking to Dekket and Coltra now before glancing at the door.
The patrons who drew down are now very anxious, the tension in the room is palpable. One man with a blade is edging towards the door even though Tyburn and Phaedra are still standing on either side of it!
"All these threats of violence won't do," Phaedra calls from her place by the door her tone annoyed. "We can't collect from the dead and I'm not cleaning up after the lot of you," she adds gruffly. "I said no blood and I meant it," she exclaims firmly next like a scolding mother.
Tyburn chuckles from his place beside her. "Amateurs," he adds with a smirk as Phaedra sighs again loudly. "I would have knocked the boy out at least before grabbing is loot," he adds next gesturing at the Medusa sigil. "That's easily stolen too isn't Phae," he then asks as Phaedra snickers.
"You know Ty I do believe it is," Phaedra replies grinning. "Someone in the Order's laundry has been pilfered as well as the gold," she adds jovially speaking to Tyburn before looking back at the party. "Now come, come," she then says addressing the party again. "We've got three more places to collect from today my dears. We're on a time-frame," she adds motioning to the clock coo-cooing the time at half passed noon.
Then you hear it...a firm knock as if something or someone very large wants in....
"I was afraid of that," Phaedra said standing up straight and gesturing for Tyburn to get the door.
"They moved quickly," Tyburn calls turning too the crowd with a drawn dagger. "Who's with the watch in here," he asks looking around at each human, half-elven, and dwarven face of the patrons. "Well we know your friends are outside," he adds smirking at Phaedra looks around too but no one comes forward. "Hopefully this won't end in tears," he adds next as Phaedra riffled in her knapsack removing something she grips in her hand.
"Everyone be calm and you'll all leave here alive," Phaedra then says nodding to Tyburn who grin then disappears with a pop.
Phadrea then turned to the party with a sigh.
"Good luck eh," Phaedra says before tossing in the air a sparkling acorn that explodes making her invisible too as the front door creaks open leaving the party to deal with the situation!
“That’s very smart... “ says Dekket to Coltra in low voice when Phaeldra destroy their play and change her mind at he same time “ We could never collect from this poor man again...”
“ I suggest using the same escape route as the boy did”
with that Dekket jump and rolls on his back over the bar and heads for the kitchen.

If it appears he is lying, Lucian will cast Command requesting that he "Pay."
If it appears he is telling the truth, Lucian will follow the others out the back door.
