Baldar is looking at her shield, specifically the symbol of Moradin upon it, with deep sadness as the others dispatch the last of the crawling hands. Walt's yell shakes her from her stupor and she moves over to Kianna, rolling the young woman on to her side and checking her breathing. "She is just unconscious. She will come to eventually. I suspect that undead monstrosity had some kind of hold over her, whatever it was."
Baldar finds she is indeed alive, physically unharmed, and unconscious. She seems to be resting fairly peacefully. Her life does not appear to be in danger.
Walt smiles at Baldar’s assessment. “Good. Thank you, Baldar.” He turns and nervously looks about the cavern. “Are there any more signs of undead in the room? My magics might be capable, but I lack skill and knowledge of these undead abominations.”
”Very well. Shall we carry Kianna topside and make our way back to Promise?” He looks at Kianna and then at Baldar and Bendrak. “And when I say we, I mean you and Bendrak” says Walt in playful manner.
Walt stands around trying make himself useful. He spots Kianna’s knife, kneels down, inspects the knife and tucks it in his belt. “Just in case she’s not too happy when she wakes up.”
Investigation check 9 on the knife to figure out if there’s anything unique about the knife.
The knife appears to be an ordinary and well-used, utilitarian tool.
Tuuli climbs the ladder and peeks upstairs. The teenager, bound to the badly injured and still unconscious old man, is awake. His eyes are wide and fearful, but show no signs of the crimson hue.
“Hey, guys!” Tuuli calls down to the rest of the party, “They’re normal!” She scrambles up and approaches the kid, “Hey, we’re here to help. How do you feel?”
She will not untie anyone until more of the party is above ground, but then she will definitely untie them.
Walt is overcome with emotions. He looks towards Baldar and Bendrak and exclaims, “Did you hear that?! I think we did it!” He breaks out into his signature jig for a brief moment, but he’s so sapped of vitality that he quickly gets winded.
“Whew…I…think I should check up on the old man up top. I’ll see you up there.” Walt slowly limps towards the ladder and begins the ascent. His body aches with each step up and his left shoulder is killing him. This battle took a lot out of Walt.
Walt can’t believe it. The teenager’s eyes are clear as day.

"Thank... thank you," begins the scrawny boy, haltingly, as he massages the egg on his head where he was hit with Walt's rock. "I only remember snippets... The last thing I remember clearly is getting ready to go to Promise for the Awakening Festival. What happened?"
Still feeling despondent, Baldar is buoyed a little by watching Walt do his little jig before he runs from the room. She looks again at her shield, stows it, and goes to check on the numerous armless bodies to see if any of them are alive. She also looks around the cavern for any other clues or items as to what exactly happened here, but tears have formed in her eyes unbidden. A deep pervading sense of her faith deserting her sits heavy in her gut. With a deep sigh, she picks up Kianna (with Bendrak's help if he's still around) and carries her back to the farmhouse.
Baldar looks around the mostly-earthen cavern in the dim lantern light. The farmers are quite dead; there are twelve corpses in total, all torn apart. Small holes extend from the cave deep into the packed earth, but they are much too small to enter, and some have collapsed. There's not much else to look at here.
She carries Kianna's unconscious form up the ladder and into the kitchen.
The boy continues to talk. Seeing the unconscious woman, he adds, "Kianna... Kianna had been behaving strangely, I remember. She was convinced that her dead friend was speaking to her. I remember that."
"She dug and found an old cavern, I remember. She called us down there. But something happened to us when we entered the caverns. After that, we did whatever the thing said—including hurting each another and marking the houses with X’s to show who had visited the cellar. I remember that."
Walt listens as the teenager describes how things came to pass. Once the boy finishes speaking, Walt attempts to fill in the gaps in his memory.
"Thank you for sharing that with us. I'm sure you're...quite confused. We are too. But I believe we can help fill in the gaps in your memory." Walt pauses looking at Baldar and Tuuli to see if they want to say anything. "Um...my name is Walt, by the way. What's your name?"
"My friends and I come from the Citadel. We visited Promise take part in the Awakening festival. There we encountered some farmers, very much like yourself, that appeared to be...not quite themselves. These farmers appeared to be under the influence of something, or someone, and tried to hurt people there. But my friends and I intervened and stopped them."
"Someone by the name of Aunt Dellie sent us here to look for Kianna. She was worried that something might have happened to her. We searched for her and found this place. We found you, that old man there and two others wandering this building. Unfortunately, we woke you up, you attacked us and well...we knocked out and tied you up. We went into the cellar, found Kianna and fought some sort of monster made of hands and feet. And uuuh..."Walt stops and looks at his friends. "Tuuli...Baldar...am I missing anything?"

He looks back at the boy. “I know this is a lot. Your are more than welcome to travel with us to Promise. Or perhaps we can escort you to a nearby pact? Please let me know if we can help.”
Walt will get up, dust himself off and begin readying himself for travel.

Just then, the window shatters. Proclaimer Ward pulls out the end of her staff and peers into the window from outside. "You folks okay? I've got two more with me. They seem okay now."
You hear a groan from the dining room. Evidently, another tied-up farmer is awake.
"I don't want to go to Promise," continues Sogo. "Is Uncle Polder okay? He'll take us in."
"Aye, Uncle Polder is okay. We'll drop you off there." She turns to the Proclaimer. "How's the wagon? Do ya think it will make the journey back to the Promise?"
