Cobble had looked at Kocino for a moment as he began to explain Simon was the cause of the towns problems.
"But.. Glazing Winds was poor even before Simon was in power. When he came to power I was able to start a business! He's droven off bandits and giants and has donated us gold time and time again. What do you mean he was the cause? I'd personally be dead had he not stopped the Jet brothers before!"
The town became a little anxious as one person shouted pointing at Gwen.
"It's a coup! She hired mercenaries to usurp her brother! I knew those rumors were true! Somebody get the commander!"
Drezmir had said Simon was alive and well this was when the same woman asked Drezmir.
"Prove it! Show us our lord! If you haven't killed him in cold blood!"
Gwen had looked at Drezmir with a nod.
"You can tell them everything, but were going to need the commander and were going to need proof."
Almost as if on cue the commander had finally left the premises. (Along with Gilded,Jess,Amon if Gilded/Jess/Vex had continued to follow. It was than that Robin had started to approach from behind the crowd. Where had he gone before? Robin looked to them all.
"It's true, Simon-"
"We know you hate Simon that won't prove nothing!"
The commander had began to boom his voice out among the squabbling crowd.
"Quiet! Simon is under arrest, there will be a trial. It will be held tomorrow, until than he will be held under tight security so no one get any smart ideas about breaking him out. We'll be watching him closely. I can show you all the proof these heroes have shown me."
"They said Simon caused all our problems! That he was into dark magic!"
"Well.. He wasn't the cause of our economic drought but how he "aided" us was attacking outsiders supply runs. I'm a fool.. We could never afford those routes so how did we come back? He had the Jet brothers attack merchants from the capital. He stole, than turned to dark magic. He had done so in trying to help us but.. He lost himself. We can't do nothing about the theft.. The loss of life and this dark magic. If we turn a blind eye.. Just cause it benefited us? Well.. Where does that leave us?"
The crowd had begun to fall silent from their murmuring. They all looked down to the ground with heavy shoulders and sullen eyes.
Corvus looks closer at the book, and the magical lock placed on the glass. He debates on whether or not trying to get it would be beneficial. He's already spent to much time away from the group, but his curiosity holds him there for a moment. Investigating the case, he attempts to see how hard it would be to deactivate the lock.

Amon nods along to what Jess says, pursing his lips as he considers it. But he says nothing else on the matter for now. The then looks up at Vex, contemplating his words now. "I understand. But you look like you can handle your own pretty well, so I wouldn't worry about it too much." He has loosened up quite a lot in the presence of another criminal, or rather, ex-criminal. And frankly, he was starting to get slightly irritated at Jess and the paladin, with their righteous 'Do-no-harm' manner. But that slowly lightening mood hits a wall when the commander speaks, giving a slight retort under his breath so no one hears. "I may be a criminal, but that doesn't mean I'm some sort of livestock you can trade around."
After the change of custody and more words from Jess, he looks up at her with one eyebrow raised. "Companions? There are more of you?" He shrugs in response to her last question, as if saying it doesn't matter to him anyways.

The lockpick looks to be made from a solid steel frame. As for the book Corvus isn't able to know much from just the cover or sense any specific magic.
The crowd seems to be confused as the other guards come out. The commander offers a small smile to Drezmir,Kocino,Gwen
"I have a lot to explain to them. My men are with Simon at the dungeon, I'll have my men arrange a celebration at the tavern. Tonight me and Gwen will compose a report over everything with the manor tonight. But Gwen can celebrate with you, that being said we'll probably be pulling an all nighter checking through the manor. A lot of fighting went on, we had one thief heavens know if we had anymore since we were mostly busy. Tonight too I'll be arranging a reward for each of you with the help Gwen since she has spent the most time with you all. For now I'll be heading over to the dungeon to question Simon. Any of you are welcome to head over their whenever you please as well."
Gwen had looked at the commander she was eager to help with the clean up and making a report. Even happy to celebrate but any words she had to say escaped her when he mentioned questioning Simon. The commander had looked up at her placing a hand on her shoulder.
"I know you told me to take charge here but.. After tomorrow I think you'll be taking Simon's place. I know now.. You weren't trying to usurp him, you really love you're brother.. I was a fool to doubt you. Heck if any of you're friends desire a job hear at Glazing Winds I wouldn't object! Though.. I have a feeling you guys don't plan on sticking around too long huh?"
The commander looks at Gilded and Jess who have Amon with them. Looking to Gilded he chuckles a bit nodding.
"Ahh I see what a shame indeed." Jess and the commander head back into the manor heading down into the basement/dungeon below the first floor. As they head down the cellars passing by the Jet brothers as they grin seeing Jess for a moment. Along with other various criminals before stopping at the end of the hallway. There Simon was tied to a chair, he was bound and gagged and even blindfolded.
"Men, did you give him a drink and tend to his wounds? He was in rough shape."
"Yes sir!"
"I see.. He might be ready to talk than. Do you wanna talk to him first? Or would you rather I start?" He turned to Jess for a moment waiting for her answer.
Jess mutters, "Actually, I just wanted to see that he was secured. My friend Drezmir was the one that really wanted to talk to Simon... Maybe I'll go get him."
Corvus decides the book would be to much of a hassle and continues on his way out of the manor. Once out, he will make his way to whichever group he see's first. He is specifically looking for Gwen but he'd settle for the Commander.
The commander nods as he waits for Jess to go and retrieve Drezmir. And Drezmir himself appeared popular today for Corvus has found him and Gwen.
OOC I may wait for a few people to post so those not active don't get too behind ^^ But if someone post something major that needs a response right away I can do that of course ^^
Upon seeing Gwen, Corvus walks over to her and holds up the bag of gold and the note. "Those guards seem rather incompetent. They left this rather large sum of money sitting on your brother's desk. With a thief running around the manor, you'd think they'd be more careful." He sounds rather irritated and a bit tired.
Drezmir was ready to object when the crowd claimed that Gwen wanted to usurp Glanzing winds, and that he and his comrades were trying to help cause trouble. Fortunately the commander showed up in time to quell the people before things turned sour. He thanks the commander, then looks to Gwen to see if she wants to go speak to Simon. He knows what the mark on his wrist is, and he doubts that Simon can do anything about it. Gwen on the other hand...she and Robin need to talk to the mage.
He is glad to hear that the Commander want's Gwen to take charge, but realizes that if Simon really did do what he did to Robin to her...well it might not be the safest thing for her to step up immediately. They needed to know for sure that Simon couldn't attempt to use her for his own purposes. Still, he doesn't know how to bring this up, so he stays quiet.
In response to the commander offering work, he says, "I appreciate it, but I cannot stay here for long. Once we know everything is back in order, I...and my comrades if we wish to stay together, will likely head out. I don't know where yet, but a few of them mentioned the capitol."
He turns to Gwen, and says hesitantly, "...Do you want to go see your brother? Or would you rather wait. ...Also...what should we do about Robin? I suppose we should speak to Simon first to see if there is anything we have to worry about."
Drezmir nods to Jess as she comes over, but he waits for Gwen's response before heading back with Jess to speak to Simon. When Corvus hands over the money, he gives the Commander an apologetic glance after the warlock bluntly insults the guards. He also gives a surprised look to Gwen, who had told him earlier that Corvus had kept extra coins for himself...it would have been so easy for him to keep that gold. Though perhaps someone in their group would have noticed eventually that he had it--should he decide to stay with them after all is said and done. Is this some sort of game? ...Drez shakes his head. What is he thinking? Sure, Corvus likely has his own motives...but don't they all?
“Whether we stick together or not, we have a lot to talk about. What we do next, do we stick together, and whatever had gotten into Vex inside.” Kocino checks one of his wounds. “But those are issues for tomorrow. Tonight we relax and get ourselves patched up.”
"What to do with me huh? Hear I tried making a case against the crowd for ya! I mean.. I failed terribly but ya know. Heh.. I jest, I know what you mean. Like I said, I'll face judgement as long as my men can be pardoned. That is all that I ask."
Gwen takes a deep breath as she turns to respond to both Robin and Drezmir.
"Honestly it's a shame you can't stay, but perhaps you can learn more about the Vintsvents letter at the capital. As for my brother.. I may take the chance to relax at the tavern. Tend to my wounds and let my adrenaline burn down before I speak with him..
Jess and the commander head back to go and get Drezmir. Upon returning the commander hears Corvus as he hands the bag to Gwen. She looks at him for a moment as the commander laughs.
"Haha! We made such a big deal about Simon's power I left those unguarded! Good point lad good point!"
Commander Rein heads right over and pats Corvus on the back with a hardy laugh. The commander had looked back to Drezmir than to Kocino for a moment.
"He's right you lot should rest up at the tavern, celebrate you can question Simon tonight. Tomorrow he goes on trial. Only thing is.. I'm not sure what to do with Robin and his men. They have clearly broke the law before but.. Robin seemed to help Gwen and you all. What do you lot think? What should we do with him? I already allowed the dragonborn and you're Water genasi friend the custody of one thief."
Kocino thinks for a minute. “Well you look to be short a few guards. Robin and his people can fight, so hire them as town guard. Figure out whatever punishment is fair for their crimes and hold it. If they can prove that they can stay out of trouble, the punishment goes away. If they cause more problems, they serve their punishment.” He shrugs. “I feel like that’s a fair way to go about it.”
Gilded would have followed jess and the commander inside, then back outside to the group. He is not ready for his companions to be left alone. He sees that most are in gathered together, except for Corvus. He hasn't seen him in quite a while and brings that up to his friends "Has anyone seen Corvus? He has been missing for a while and I am afraid he may have gotten into trouble with that orb. He hasn't acted right since he got his hands on it, and I did notice an evil aura on it earlier."
He then sees Corvus come out holding a bag of gold, giving it to the guards. He can no longer completely trust Corvus, as it seems Corvus is too concerned with his own best interest. "Did you find anything else of value while you have been apart from us? Anything like the orb that YOU have decided should be yours?"
Gilded hears Kocino suggest that Robin and his men become guards. "I like that idea as well, consider it community service. Maybe they can devote a month of service to the town? This may give them a feeling of being a part of the town that they did not have before, and allow them to feel as if they have paid their debt."
"If any of us are going to talk to Simon, which I have no need to do, that is town business now. Lets get it done and get some rest, I for one am exhausted."
Drezmir turns to Robin, having forgotten that the rouge had joined them again, "Oh, that's not what I meant...I was talking about whatever Simon did to you. You don't want him looking through your eyes forever do you?"
He looks to Gwen, "I understand. Perhaps it would be best to wait anyways. ...yes, perhaps we can learn more at the capitol."
He nods when Kocino suggests Robin and his men serve some time as guards. The would be good at it, and it seems that in a way they'd been doing so already. He looks to Robin, "Sound's fair to me. Definitely better then time behind bars."
Turning back to Gwen, "I'll go speak with Simon tonight. ...we can go together if you wish." Like Gilded, Drez needed a break. Yet, he couldn't help but wonder if getting himself back to full health would result in changing back into that...other form. If that was the case, he was going to keep going today as long as he could before taking a rest.
Corvus stiffens when the Commander pats him on the back, his irritated look deepening. He had not expected such a reaction, but at least the commander seems to trust him. After Gwen takes the bag, he takes a step back letting his long sleeves fall back over his hands. Drezmir seems to trust him as well. That is a good thing. However, he can't tell how Gwen feels about him. She never seemed to like him, and he would much rather be on her good side.
Insight: 13
And then Gilded walks over. Corvus glares at the dragonborn, red eyes blazing. Speaking slowly and deliberately, he replies, "Would you have wanted me to keep that gold and split it with the rest of you? I'll have you know, I have no problem looting, but stealing is another matter. Once the guards took Simon, that gold no longer belonged to him. It belongs to Gwen, if you think otherwise, then you are no better than the common thief."
Corvus had definitely not expected this reaction from Gilded. Why did the dragonborn just assume he stole something, when he just gave Gwen the bag of gold? He could easily have kept it, yet he did not. The orb is a different matter. He genuinely doesn't know why it is so bad for him to keep it. Sure it was tainted, but so what? He is confident that he can deal with that.
The Aarakocra continues to stand there glaring at the dragonborn. "I cannot say I understand your logic or your morals. You say it's wrong for me to keep the orb and you still say I'm wrong to return a bag of gold to it's owner. At this point, I don't think I can do anything right in your eyes. Not that I care what you think anyways. I see no reason why i need to please you, so don't expect me to try."
(OOC: I'm a bit confused on where everyone is. Did Jess and Gilded bring Amon with them?)
