Corvus glares at the dragonborn when he intersects. His feathers raise slightly in irritation, "As I said. I have made no deals with any demons. I only wish to destroy them. If using their own power against them proves an effective tactic, then that is what i will do."
He releases his breath, letting his feathers flatten back down, regaining his calm composure before turning to Arthur, "That is true, and I am very sorry he didn't survive this fight. At least he died valiantly, a good death for one such as him. He truly was a worthy companion."
Then his eyes re-focus on Drezmir, "It haunts your dreams does it not? It is your destiny to kill it after all. How could you go a day without thinking about it? It may have been locked in some temple by your god, but that clearly hasn't kept it from affecting you." He does not step back when the half-elf steps forward, he holds his gaze and a hint of understanding flashes in his eyes, "That fact alone, makes it your demon. It does not need to have a physical or mental hold on you to be yours. Though clearly you have had some communication with it." His eyes narrow, "How else would you know that it wanted me to take it's power? What else has it told you?" He chuckles, "You say I don't know what I'm dealing with? What about you? I for one think it has more of a hold on you than you think."
"It may be foolish to 'toy with' the power, but really, is that any more foolish than to think you, a mortal can stand a chance against a demon without either divine intervention, or the help of some competing force? I assure you, I will not be the one to release that demon, I am the last one to want any more of it's kind walking this earth."
Drez glares at Corvus--not an expression often seen upon his face. "The beast doesn't haunt me. Sure, I dream of destroying it, nothing more..." His eyes narrow, "And yes, to my displeasure, the blasted thing has tried to communicate with me. It's tried to control me, but now I know how to keep that from happening. All I have to do is not tap into the power that you seem to think is safe to toy with. That is why I am warning you to abandon whatever ideas you have of draining its power."
He clenches his fists as Corvus accuses him of foolishness, "It is divine decree that I face the demon. Fulgur himself will see me through that battle. I won't be a mortal fighting a demon alone."
Letting out a breath he does his best to let go of his anger. Clearly Corvus had his own opinions, and his own experience to draw from. Did that make Drez any more comfortable with the warlock playing around with forces like the Kitsune? No. But regardless, Drez doesn't want to draw the argument out. "Perhaps we cannot agree on this matter. But, please. Do as you will with whatever other forces you see fit to fiddle with. Just leave the Kitsune to me."
He still intends to keep an eye on Corvus, as he has a feeling the warlock is withholding information from him. But for now, he will let it go. No harm had been done so far, and as long as it stayed that way who was he to complain?
Blood has soaked Sy’s outfit from the battle, scarlet drips from his eyes, arms, legs and tail. He is severely injured, holding his right arm. His bagpipes’ normally blue colouring turning a deep purple from bloodstains. He looks at Arthur, saying “I only saw him for a minute or two. I forgot he was there for a moment.” Whilst referencing Leonard. He removes his mask, showing a deep red scare across one of his pure red eyes. It appears to go deep down into his skull.”This was here before the dragon attack.” He says, pointing at the scar. Multiple other small cuts cover the rest of his face. He then puts his mask back on, looking at his severely damaged right arm.
Corvus inclines his head, "Very well, Kitsune slayer. I will settle for simply letting it rot where it is, or if it escapes, aiding you in ending it." He does not sound like he is trying to offend Drezmir, but his tone is bitter nonetheless.
He looks back into the half-elf's eyes, "I hope he does not disappoint you." He responds bluntly. Corvus has little respect for the so called gods. Not one, not even the god of his own kingdom, had done anything to aid him on that day. None had come to use their divine power to rid the land of the foul devil. No, they had left him to burn, and for that, he would be hard pressed to believe they wouldn't do the same again, for him, or anyone else in the group.
Still remaining as calm as ever, Corvus steps back and nods, "Very well, I will not force my aid on you. I'll leave you to your demon, and you will leave me to mine."
With that, he releases Drezmir from his fiery stare and walks past him. "I agree with Arthur, let's be on our way." As he walks, he glances at the bloody tiefling, and mutters, "Clearly we can all use a rest."
Perhaps they will even lose that fairy if they leave now....
Sighing, Drez decides not to respond to Corvus's comment about Fulgur, instead answering his next statement. "I do not mind your aid, so long as it doesn't involve the risk of setting the demon free before its time. As for your demon, well, if it really is that woman's patron, it has just made an enemy of everyone here. You won't be alone in your fight against it, whether you like it or not unfortunately." He isn't trying to provoke Corvus by saying this, but it is the truth. Corvus can't just expect him and everyone else present to just sit back and watch him take on whatever demon is pulling the strings here.
Turning back to the rest of his companions, he takes that time to look over everyone's wounds. Though they all were pretty beat up, it didn't seem necessary to use the ointment now. They were all stable, and would be fine given proper rest. He'll save the ointment for when the need is dire.
"Yes, we should head down. Hopefully those bandits are still tied up where we left them."
(Its gone quiet. Honestly I've noticed the same thing with most of my other PbP threads. People must just be busy IRL lol. Hopefully it will come back though!)
Arthur had looked at Sy unsure what to make on his comment about his fallen friend. Instead he had decided to leave Sy to his own devices as they begun to head up to Milda's tavern but not before gathering all those that were defeated and captured. Arthur was a bit quiet as he walked beside Drezmir, Merlyn had walked beside Corvus despite the argument that had taken place before.
Kirai and Rex had stayed rather quiet, in fact Rex had only really introduced himself to Drezmir before but the others have called him by his name. Kirai's party was a bit quiet but it wasn't hard to see why.
However are traveling band of heroes had tensions growing high between Drezmir and Corvus, Kirai had noticed the fight between these two. Gilded had a bit of platitudes of his own to share. Arthur and Merlyn had looked upon the argument unsure how to respond such an ordeal. The party had managed to catch those that were not killed. Jess,Gilded,Corvus had taken a few Red Daggers hostage from before! As well as some mountain men. It appeared Drezmir,Sy,Amon,Kocino had caught a whole unit of mountain men! They had head to the tavern. The woman wiping down the barkeep was a blonde woman, tall and appeared rather hardy yet she had retained many feminine qualities. She appeared human aside from the fact that she had slight reptile like scales across her neck and arms. She was wearing a plaid sundress despite her strong build and the loud atmosphere in this tavern.
"Hey! You lot are back huh? With more of those trouble makers! I'd complain how many you brought.. AGAIN. But less of those guys means less trouble for us here in the mountain. I'd be careful though.. We heard monsterous roaring outside some of my patrons are convinced it was... Well dragons."
OOC Sorry sometimes I'll go quiet for more than just my weekends cause of work/life/social gatherings etc sorry ><
Corvus walks to the tavern in silence. He glances toward Merlyn, but says nothing. Why does she keep so close to him? Does she want something? Or is she just keeping an eye on him? She had seem like she cared for him to some extent during the previous battle. Why? It's not like they really knew each other. Had those feelings changed since she got a glimpse of his true nature? He takes his eyes off the girl and focuses on the road. His face takes on it's usual frown as he continues to walk. Whatever, it doesn't matter anyways. His secret was starting to escape him. He'd already lost Drezmir's trust, he never had Gilded's anyway, the others strangely didn't seem to care. That's fine, as long as they stay out of his way and stay useful. If Merlyn holds any feelings towards him, whether good or bad, she'd be keeping him close to these new tools. Tools that have proven to hold more information than any he had stumbled upon before. He glances towards Kirai. Yes, best keep them as close as he can for now.
Following Arthur and Drezmir into the tavern, he waits for Merlyn to find a place and then follows her to it. He doesn't particularly want to be close to Drezmir or Gilded at the moment, so he makes sure to put at least Merlyn between himself and them. Once there he studies their host, she clearly has some dragon blood in her veins. He had heard of draconic sorcerers, perhaps she is one of them. Half-dragon's are a possibility, though as far as he knows, they are quite rare. Either way, he's glad he has no reason to fight her. He'd much rather save his strength for future battles.
He doesn't address the woman just yet. Instead he ponders what the woman's linage could be.

(Not sure which roll that would be so here are these.)
(No worries Shield! It happens to everyone! I know i'm gonna be a bit slow for a while as I have Exams coming up.)
Drezmir remained rather quiet as well, hoping that he could trust Corvus not to continue meddling with the Kitsune. He wants to trust him, but after the warlock lied once already, he isn't sure if he can. On top of that, it seemed he had other issues to continue dealing with... Then there was the loss of Leonard. Sure, he hadn't really known the fellow, but he had gotten to know Arthur. So the fact that the young knight and the rest of Arthur's companions were hurting was rubbing off on him. He'd thought he knew what it meant to fight for something, but he'd never lost anyone to a fight before. He'd come close, that was for sure, but... this had never happened before.
All in all, whatever excitement had come during the beginning of the day was long dead and buried leaving behind a knot of pain and even more questions.
When they reach the tavern, he takes note of how Corvus is avoiding him. Hopefully he hadn't offended the warlock. Still, he realizes that he doesn't particularly want to be close to Corvus either...if only to ensure that he doesn't steal more blood. So, he finds a place beside Kocino, Arthur, and Gilded...or if they are all sitting apart from each other, he takes whatever seat is open. However, hearing Sy's announcement that 'it was dragons' and 'they killed them' he stands up and moves to stand beside the bard. "I don't think you can say that. Those dragons were new...this just means that there were others before them..." He takes note of the barkeeper's strange appearance, doing his best not to look nosy. "This...group that calls itself the Red Daggers were up there testing some sort of drug. We saw it in action... it transformed people into dragons. Whatever beasts were up there before looked like dragons, but they were not true dragons."
He realizes too late that perhaps he should have kept his mouth shut. Who knew whether or not this barkeeper was trustworthy...or if Arthur's group would appreciate having this new information shared with someone who was so likely to spread that information to whatever travelers passed through. Oh well, the words were out of his mouth and there was no going back.
Merlyn had readily sat beside Corvus as she dragged Rex to sit on her otherside. The white haired human had begun to fiddle around in his seat awkwardly. She offered Corvus a weak smile drained from the loss of her comrade. Kirai was stern and Arthur was doing his best to recollect his old smile.
As Corvus studies her he is aware of dragon lineage as well as draconian sorcerers but.. He can't really make heads or tails of which could be the case in this moment.
@Sy
The lady had examined the group over before Sy had boasted on killing not one but two dragons some of the men in the pub began to laugh.
"Hah! And I'm the queen of Radiance! Slay two dragons! What do ye think? Were in the badlands or sumthin?"
@Jess
The woman had blinked looking away from Sy as she stammered a bit before turning her gaze to Jess with a rekindled smile and sharp grin to clash upon her petite face.
"Ahh! I've Radiant Ale! I have Germuid Wine but that's 20 gold pieces. Some fine Sake from Romalia too and if you were here earlier we had Alba fire whiskey! I've also got some of the usual Ale it's not bad at alll and it's a reasonable price at 5 coppers a drink."
@Drezmir
Milda had tilted her head at Drezmir upon his report almost as if he had two heads. Arthur had willingly sat beside Drezmir (And Gilded as well if he would allow) upon seeing Drezmir's presence he had found himself a small smile of relief. Milda had begun to giggle lightly.
"That a new way to tease me for my scales?"
She had revealed in that moment a large reptile tail as she wrapped it around Drezmir's chair leg pulling him close with a playful wink.
"You know the Red Daggers are just a myth right? Plus dragons can't enter a kingdom the divine domains protect us from Dragon's and Liches and other things.. Sure you didn't run into some tough drakes instead? A drug..? That turns those into..? Are you sure you're okay?"
OOC Thanks to everyone for being understanding on things slowing down ^~^
Drezmir, growing a little uncomfortable, stiffens as the barkeeper winks at him, "Um... no. Miss... I would never tease someone for their appearance. I'm simply stating the truth. I spoke with the Daggers...unless they just took the name for themselves..." He shakes his head, "You said yourself that you heard roaring from up there...was that just a little bit ago? If so, you likely were hearing the dragons we fought...and yes, they were dragons. False dragons, created from some sort of drug. The Red Daggers, fable or not, were behind it, and from what I've gathered have been causing problems elsewhere as well."
As he speaks, he realizes that he probably looks awful. He'd nearly forgotten about his own wounds, having been given a healing potion from both Fox and Rex to keep himself on his feet. He'd also forgotten about the cut in the back of his gambeson...which had busted open during his transformation and was now hanging open to reveal the scars fresh and old on his back. Great, he'd have to find someone to fix that...unless he could find a place that could supply him with a similar one.
Regardless as to whether or not the pain bothered him, he did feel rather drained. So, he decided he wouldn't argue the point further. If Milda believed him good for her... but perhaps it was better if she didn't. After all, it might be better if word didn't get out just yet. Better to let Kirai and his group decide when to let the information spread...even if it was to late for that now.
Sighing, he says, "How much did you say the Romalian Sake was?" It would be nice to taste something from home again.
Corvus unsure how to respond to Merlyn gives her smile a searching look before placing both arms on the table and focusing on the draconic woman again. How could she think a group that seemed to be parading around the area with the Bloody Dagger symbols plastered onto their cloths to be a myth? Ha! The divine domains may be able to protect from petty dragons, but demons? He almost laughed aloud though his face bares a sour expression. However, he did not wish to raise the subject again. He'd already let his companions know more than he had intended to tell them, no need to share anymore....even when he feels like screaming at this scaly woman. How could someone be so blind to something so close? He closes his eyes and raises his left hand to his face, trying to focus on the current situation.
He does not order any strong drink. He is in no mood to addle his brain with alcohol. No, he needs a clear head to contemplate his next move. Moving his cyber arm across the table, he winces at the pain in his shoulder. He'd forgotten about that, he'd been to angry to feel the pain. Glancing at his right shoulder he notes the half-healed hole in his flesh and his bloodied clothing. At least these new tools could provide healing. If they hadn't, he would likely have lost far more blood. Either way, he'd have to take care of that later.
Ignoring the talk of Dragons and Daggers, he orders a glass of water and some food. He's in the mood for meat at the moment, hot red meat.
A short while after placing his order he sighs, and looks at Kiari, "So, what is our next move? Do you have any idea where that woman may have gone?" He glances at Merlyn briefly before snapping his gaze back on the elf. "After we have a sufficient rest that is." And time for those two to morn their loss if need be. He thinks bitterly. Not that he's angry about it. They should morn their friend. He seemed like family to them. But Corvus has no intention of morning a man he barely knew and he hopes his death does not slow him down.
