“Indeed, even though I only killed one they were all left, paralysed in fear. Not the archers though. The others made them surrender too. The rest are still at the battlefield, I assume.”
Jess wants to study one of the papers more carefully.
On the way back to town she would like to take the opportunity to chat with her new friends and get to know them a little better.
“I traveled here alone from Tristain. I left my mother behind on our small island, in her village. The other villagers tolerate me but I’ve never felt too accepted there, they’re not accustomed to strangeness and I look a little different than they do. They’re nice enough folk, just small-minded I suppose. Anyway, I left because I feel a sort of restlessness that I can’t explain. Today’s adventure feels like the first step in… slaking some kind of thirst. Speaking of thirst, I could go for more of that good stuff the orc was serving!”
(OOC: You don't need to apologize for being at work! I think most of us can understand that!)
(OOC: Oof I missed a lot.)
Corvus finds this mission disappointing. No demons, or fiends or anything of the like. At least his new companions had proven themselves useful.
He accepts the 5 silver from the dragonborn, nodding his thanks. Then follows the group back to the tavern (or wherever they are going). He listen's to Jess, but does not comment. Images of his own home flash through his mind, stoking the already raging fire within his soul. Perhaps this mission wasn't a total waste, after all, it allowed him to practice his combat magic.
"I don't believe I've introduced myself. My name is Kocino. I'm a chef, out and about looking for interesting recipes and ingredients." Kocino lifts the front flap of his apron, displaying a variety of knives and other utensils.
(OOC: I missed a lot as well...lol. I was busy...)
Drezmir congratulates everyone, reluctantly accepting the silver from Guilded. He didn't really feel like he did much, which disappointed him, but that was how things went while working with a team...he was going to have to get used to that.
"Lets have a look at that letter shall we?" he says. "Best to figure out what all this is about."He looks down at the goblins, "So it was a human who asked you to do this? Was there anything...odd about them?"
On the way back, he listens to Jess with interest, "Small minded indeed. Why would they not accept you? Clearly you are a skilled individual." He pauses, as if contemplating how much of his own background to share, "I am from Romalia, of a small town in the western region. I never knew my parents, and was raised in a monastery. The people of my town have mixed opinions of me...for understandable reasons. Some hate me for what they think I am, and others pile pressure on me, thinking I am not good enough and can never fulfill my destiny. Others doubt me entirely, doubting the destiny my brothers entrusted me with." He puts a fist to his palm, "But I will prove myself. I have trained enough that my brothers can no longer help me improve. There is still time before I am needed back there, so they charged me with traveling abroad--to gain experience and harden myself further." He straightens his high-necked leather gambeson and puts a hand on his sword. "I can't say I understand what your situation was exactly...but I can understand it to an extent."
Pausing for a moment, he looks around for Vex, if Vex is with them, he will wave him over and ask, "So tell me, what made you leave the great kingdom of Romalia? Wanderlust?"
"I don't believe I've introduced myself. My name is Kocino. I'm a chef, out and about looking for interesting recipes and ingredients." Kocino lifts the front flap of his apron, displaying a variety of knives and other utensils.
(Oh, I missed this...)
Before seeking out Vex, Drezmir gives Kocino a nod, "Well met Kocino. What kingdom do you hail from?"
Gilded listens to Jess' story and replies." I understand, like you what it us to be alone and different. I fought against my own kind to protect those that could not fight for themselves. Then when I went away, my entire clan was killed or scattered. Maybe you and I are kindred in spirit."
Jess perks up at Kocino’s revelation about being a chef.
“Can you mix drinks as well? If I’m being honest, my favorite part of eating is the drinking.“
To Drezmir:
“Yes, I feel a kinship with my island home, the sands, the waters, all the animals that live there. Some of the villagers felt I loved non-people things more than people, and resented me for it. Well, maybe they weren’t wrong. I’m working on that. But it must have been pretty interesting growing up in a monastery! Did you get a good education there?”
To Gilded:
“Oh dear, and I thought I had a rough time because some of the villagers said things about me behind my back… at least I didn’t have to fight them! That must have been a very difficult thing. I hope you find peace and closure out here with us, or whatever thing it is you need.”
To Corvus:
“You’re quiet back there, wouldn’t you like to tell us more about yourself? The better we understand each other, the more potent a team we can become!”
On the letter reads a proposal, weapons and armor along with food for the goblins. Allowing them to keep a meager twenty percent of the proceeds. One goblin answers and even follows as the others begin to leave and scatter.
Though the letter has a seal it has no name on it. Though it having a seal is proof enough a noble from Radiance is involved. There seems to be talk however of retrieving strange ingredients for alchemy
@Blacksmith
The Blacksmith Cobble looks at Vex and nods with a bit of excitement in his eyes.
"I'm impressed, I'm sure you're friends will be here soon. Here's you're reward I'm sure I can trust you'll all get a portion yes?"
He hands him a bag with 32 gold pieces
"You're group can have one weapon too! A hand crossbow, a greatsword, a longsword or longbow! You name it and it's yours!"
OOC: Has everyone added the 5 silver? If not I can add it ^^
"I grew up here in Radiance with my grandparents."
Kocino gives a chuckle to Jess' question. "Well it isn't my strong suit, but a good meal isn't complete without some drinks and company to go with it."
“How old were you when you learned how to fly? Did you crash at all or was it easy? Are you on a quest, do you have some purpose? What’s your favorite drink? What makes you tick?
Or, you know, anything you feel comfortable sharing with us…..”
Gilded hears Jess talk to Corvus and adds. "You fought bravely today. I have met none of your kind in my travels, but you are well met, and I was honored by your spirit."
Gilded laughs a bit at one of Jess' questions. "Seriously, what brings you here?"
As the group travels back to the blacksmith, Gilded asks Drez. " Do you still have the other 2 fliers from the tavern my friend?" Perhaps we have time to look into another before we find our friend Gwen again."
Sloden seems happy to plod along behind the rest, his eyes lingering to the rear on the fleeing goblins. He loses himself in the words of his new allies more than the stories.
He perks up at word of other work. "May I see the flyers?"He reads them over quickly. "I can assist with these chores, as well."

" Hey, I found some silver for our efforts." I give everyone 5 each.

“Any moment now. They will come back.” Vex says to the blacksmith, patient as ever.

To Drez, Gilded just nods and gives him a knowing look.
Corvus continues to walk slightly behind the group, he is listening to what is being said, but is acting uninterested.

OOC: I added my silver.
Jess had pocketed the 5 silver for sure, thinking as she did, “This will pay for more of the orc’s brew at the town.”
Jess wants to keep one of the papers, if possible, so that the group can reference the seal and handwriting later.
Corvus looks at Jess. He doesn’t really want to talk, but he figures he’ll have to do so eventually. “What do you want to know?”
Jess responds to Corvus:
“How old were you when you learned how to fly? Did you crash at all or was it easy? Are you on a quest, do you have some purpose? What’s your favorite drink? What makes you tick?
