[If Parriwimple ever lands a hit, he would be the MVP lmao.]
Darya and Parry have troubles landing their attacks, but Ireena manages to thread the needle, striking the creature at it's core. Purple goo showers as it flies back from the impact of the arrow, but it still moves!
The creature lashes out twice with its remaining tendrils! Creature -> Parriwimple (Attack: 20 Damage: 6 vs AC 14) Creature -> Second Attack -> Parriwimple (Attack: 21 Damage: 6 vs AC 14) SPECIAL: If Parriwimple is hit by either tentacle, the creature attaches itself to Parriwimple.

Parriwimple yelps as of attaches to him and will stop stabbing at it in an attempt to pull it free from his body.
Seeing that it would be to risky to shoot at the thing, Ireena readies her shortsword and attempts to slash at the thing without hitting Parriwimple.
Attack: 6 Damage: 7
Following in Ireena's example, Darya goes for a safer approach and uses Magic Missile to assure a hit. As she finishes the last movement of the spell three bolts of arcane energy slam into the creature.

[Holy shit LOL. It actually hates him... poor Parry!]
Darya's missiles deal the final blow to this creature [not overkill promise!] and it bursts, but before it dies it releases a gas that covers the whole area. Darya and the others cough and run out of the yellowish, greenish cloud. Your skin is damp with sweat, but you sense nothing wrong with yourself. No damage dealt... Ireena seems fine too.
But Parriwimple does not.
He doubles over and gags. He does not seem well at all.
Ireena rushes over to him and tries to study his face, holding it in her hands. She bites her lip. [Medicine check 11] She looks to you with worry in her eyes. "Darya, I don't- I don't know what's wrong."Parry pushes away from Ireena, nearly sending the girl to the ground from his shrug and throws up into the nearby river. Parry is sick, but Ireena doesn't seem to know what it is.

Darya curses as she moves over to Parriwimple in attempt to guess at what might be wrong with him, putting a hand on Ireena in order to try and keep her calm. She looks over the large man as she tries to guess at what might be wrong. "Let me see if I know.... To bad magic and medicine do not usually mix...."
(I am starting to think with his terrible luck with the dice the big guy may not make it back to town.... It is almost bad as when I played a Wild Magic Sorcerer and kept landing on the option to drop a fireball on myself.... Well that or becoming a plant...)
Darya, it doesn't look good. You look at the ground where the gas exploded from the creature... you can see now-dead larve when you squint hard enough. Looking at Parry, you realize he must be host to any number of those parasites! Thinking back, the creature did burst from the chest of a dead adventurer...
Parriwimple stands up with great effort. He looks like a man devoid of several nights of sleep already. "I... I can walk... We... need to get out of here."
[Just as a side note, Ireena is able to carry the goods.]

Darya will have Ireena carry the goods while she does her best to look after Parriwimple, wondering if there is a way to deal with the larvae she had seen come out of the creature. If at any point she sees him seemingly get worse she will stop their match in order to have him rest.
/--About 6 PM, Second of the 6th Moon, 735 BC, Village of Barovia--/
Somehow, Darya and her allies manage to avoid any other fights as they walk back into town. There would usually be more people out and about... but word about the vampire's return must be spreading. If Darya were a stranger to this village, she would have assumed it completely abandoned. Ireena steps next to Darya, adjusting the weight of the package Bildrath sent his nephew to find. She looks Darya in the eyes and says, "Parry needs help. We could take him to the church, Father Donavich might be able to help!"
Oddly enough, Darya thinks that could be a wise choice. Another choice that could be wise would be Mr. Undertaker. He may have seen creatures like this before which infect people and burst out of their dead bodies. As gruesome as the thought is, both men may have different takes and/or ways to deal with whatever is happening to Parriwimple.

The undertaker appears quickly. It looks like he was expecting you, as of course you had business with him, but he gives you a gander up and down as you begin to explain yourself, "Yes my dear? What is it? Parriwimple has... what? Take me to him at once." [I am assuming you want me to fast forward past pleasantries and get back to the meat!]
The two of you rush over to the church. Inside, you find Father Donavich, Ireena, and Parriwimple. Parriwimple is on his back atop a church pew. He looks delirious. There is a bucket near him... but you don't dare take a peek. Based on the stench, you know what's in there. Donavich and Ireena look up to see you and the undertaker.
"By the sun, what happened!" After a brief period of filling in the undertaker, he moves to Parriwimple's side.
"I believe it was a stalker," Father Donavich observes. He makes the sign of his faith as he speaks. "Bless this child's soul, were it another man he'd have died hours ago. The Morninglord must truly love this one..." There is a hint of something in Father Donavich's voice that only Darya picks up. On the one hand, Donavich seems happy that Parriwimple is okay -- for what the situation is anyway. However, there is a slight undertone that only Darya notices... jealousy. She knows who has an unlife beneath the floorboards here... Doru.
"A stalker?" The undertaker looks at Parriwimple, but he seems less relieved about this news and more weary. "No, it cannot be... he should be dead."

"It spit something like larvae at us but Parriwimple was not able to get out of the way in time. We did what we could for him with what we had but it did nothing for him.... Besides that is there something we can do for him or has it gotten to far?" Darya asked with clear panic in her voice, not wishing for another trip out of the village to end in the death of someone.
[I beg your forgiveness, my lord/lady/other, I have been having so much going on LOL]
Mr. Undertaker looks quite grim. There is a pregnant pause ended only with his voice, "Unless we do something tonight, Parriwimple shall die." Everyone looked upon this old man in silence. His words carried a lot of weight. Due to his position in the village, the undertaker was feared and revered, almost as if he were the grim reaper itself. His expression, soft moments ago, grows hard. "Between Donavich and I, we can prolong his condition, but we will run out of magic by the time the bell tolls midnight. We need to procure either a high grade potion or spell... or a miracle."
Father Donavich nods along. The lines of his face are coated in sweat and possibly tears. He looks even more unwell than usual. "Parry... Poor boy."
The undertaker turns his attention away from Parriwimple and to Darya and Ireena. "There is something you can do, but it's dangerous. You might not survive. If you aren't sure you are up to the task, I will take care of our dear boy... I would not wish this pain on anyone."
Parriwimple certainly looks worse and worse with each passing minute until he seems like a husk of his former self. The skin of his body pulls taut against his muscles and his eyes look like sunken holes. He is alive, but you have no doubt that were it not for Father Donavich holding a hand over Parriwimple, concentrating on a spell of some kind, Parriwimple would already be dead.

If I did not I would never be able to face my father in whatever lies beyond our mortal lives." She puts her hand on Parriwimple's shoulder. "Tell me what I can do..."
