(OOC: out of character i would like a bigger weapon, but in character, I can not see how Rohar would know the difference.. so maybe we can come back later when she learns more about weapons. )
The merchant's quarter, being at the edge of the city, is not far from the desert. It only takes a short walk before you exit Altharwa completely, finding yourselves on the edge of the desert, the full moon illuminating the sand before you like a path of silver light. This path leads your eyes to the most notable landmark on the horizon - a majestic pyramid, standing isolated against the night sky. Most of you will recognise it immediately - the lone pyramid, the closest of the ancient royal burial sites to the city and the site of the most recent sphinx attack.
Standing 5ft behind everyone else, Yuri's fox ears (which are now concealed by the hood) perk up at the sight of the monstrous pyramid that stands before her. But all that is on her fragile mind now is the extreme hesitation of cooperating with the unstable fighters she barely knew about. Her mind is telling her that since the mission is what binds them together, completing this tedious task would eventually dissolve the bond between them, or so it seems. Mission-wise, Yuri is apprehensive about approaching sacred territory. Having spent nearly 9 decades in Aldhahab since her tragic departure from Japan, she well and truly knows what pyramids hold within their secret chambers: Luscious riches full of gold and treasure, but also the possible remains of some deceased pharaoh and several others buried alongside it. And since she knows that the pyramid is a sacred burial place, she's more concerned about the scythe's curse activating against everyone's will.
She tenses as the group begins to approach the centuries-old structure. "Might want to stay alert." She warns the group as her tone reverts back to the same one as when she was meeting the Queen. "If what... Umm..." She points to Khaddim. "If what he said about that scythe is true, then... We better be cautious around here. Since a pyramid is a burial place, there is a high chance that we may end up agonizing the deceased and cause more problems with that scythe of ours... And that's not something that even I want to deal with myself at the moment."
Rohar follows the group, waiting on someone to tell her what to do, not because she is stupid, but because she has always been told what to do. When they get to the pyramids, she exclaims.. "Wow, I have heard of the pyramids, but I have never seen one. I did not know men could build such things."
Walking along with his tail swishing lazily in the sand behind him Gnash listens to Yuri speak and nods along. "Yes I agree, best to let the dead lie in peace if it can be helped. The city faces enough troubles as it is."
"Hmmm so people like me built it. wish I could take some pride in that, but even if it was my peoples labor, it was the knowledge and wisdom of others that thought of doing it."
I listened to the others making polite conversation. It would seem that our initial pharaoh-given quest might wind up more conflicted than we initially thought. Or hoped. The topic turned to the pyramids. It was not my place to comment on the merits or evils of slave labour. The pyramids were build and they stood proud to this day. That was all that mattered to me.

'Indeed.'I found myself agreeing with Gnash. 'We should take great care not to desecrate any burial site or offend those who sleep the eternal sleep within.'
I addressed both Miss Yurime and Gnash who seemed to know more of the matter. 'Tell me: do the sphinxes guard the pyramids or are those protected by manmade might and magic alone?'
(I should mention that you only have a sketch of the scythe with you. Are you guys going to walk closer to the pyramid?)
(Oh what? It's only a drawing right now? My bad then. I thought it was the real thing.) Yuri's at the back of the pack so if anyone else is heading into the temple she will follow.

"I'm not entirely sure on this" She hesitantly replies to Rashaken as he turns his head behind him to address her. "So far I've only been told that Sphinxes were constructed to guard the entrance of such majestic places... But I'm not sure if what I've been told is true. If the pyramid was defended by people then I assumed there would be guards near the entrance. If not, someone must have have infiltrated the pyramid and agitated those constructs or turned them sentient using magic, since I've never even seen them move an inch in the past few decades..." She inclines her head at the towering Gnash. "Do you happen to know anything else about this, um, Lizard Guy?"(She doesn't know Gnash's name)

To find out why it's alone? Sure, roll history or investigation.

With a five, you have no idea why the pyramid is alone.

OOC: Are we gonna head in then?

OOC: Yeah, you're still a little while away from the entrance of the pyramid so continuing towards it might be a good idea.

So the pyramid stands alone but is there anything of note in the (near) vicinity that we could spot?

Not in the near vicinity, no. You can roll a perception check to see if there is anything of note closer to the pyramid if you like.
