Linene turns to Johnson and agrees to his offer for the short swords,  “ I believe that I might also have some replacement daggers for those beatup ones you are carrying.”  With a wink she adds,” balanced for throwing?”

Turning back to Tyrus, “ if we have a deal, come inside an share with me how you came upon my shipment.”

As soon as he agrees, her helpers and any member of our team unloads the gear.

“Tyrus... ask her about custom weapons and magically enhanced weapons.”  

To himself, “most of these weapons are for little people.”  Shakes his head as he goes to unload the wagons.

OOC: Everyone's been pretty easy going about gold, so I'm going to assume we accepted and split the amount and I'll add the 28 gp to Akaas's stash. Does Akaas find anything cool for a monk's use in the shop?

The half-orc also asks Tyrus while helping unloading the crates

"Thagakh has a Greatsword. If they have a Greatersword, Thagakh would like to see"

Tyrus recounts to Linene the tale of the ambush, the trail to the cave, and the bugbear fight in the room with the stolen crates.

"Some of my companions here were wondering, Linene...do you have any stock of unique or magical weapons set aside?"

Linene finding herself drawn to this paladin, “magical items are rare in these parts but there is a dwarf in Neverwinter who specializes in custom weapons.  Maybe talk to him the next time you are in Neverwinter.  I am only able to carry the standard issue weapons due to all of the raids and Redbrands.  “

After there nice conversation, she lets the group know that she needs to get to Stonehill Inn to arrange for their rooms.  Tyrus is paid for the goods and exchanges are made with Johnson.  

Akaas says to a party member standing nearby, "Who are these Redbrands she kept mentioning?"

"Thagakh heard her say they were 'bastards', Thagakh thinks she meant despicable people. If not, probably illegitimate children.

Also, Tyrus said to Linene he will dish out justice on them on a place called 'Sleeping Giant'. Thagakh never fought a giant so this would be an exciting encounter."

Barthen’s Provisions

Barthen’s is the biggest trading post in Phandalin. Its shelves stock most ordinary goods and supplies, including backpacks, bedrolls, rope, and rations. The place is open from sunup to sundown. Barthen’s does not stock weapons or armor, but characters can purchase other adventuring gear here, with the exception of items that cost more than 25 gp.

The proprietor is Elmar Barthen, a lean and balding human male shopkeeper of fifty years with a kindly manner. He employs a couple of young clerks (Ander and Thistle), who help load and unload wagons and who wait on customers when Barthen isn’t around.

As the characters approach, the rumors of there arrival has already spread.  Elmar awaits them with smiles.

"The Redbrands sound like bullies.  I never could stand bullies.  Always trying to pick on the little guy."  Boghadair says to the group as they enter Barthen's Provisions. 

"Linene seems like a nice lady.  She doesn't deserve to be roughed up." 

Instead of going to Barthen's Provisions, Akaas is going to walk around town.

Barthen provisions is the first main structure you see when entering from the north.

Stonehill inn sits directly behind Barthens.

Lionshield Coster is on the southern part of the town.

Akaas has discovered that this town also has a farm, orchard, smithy, town center, shrine, woodworker, tavern , miner exchange, and an abandoned manor.

Arafiel was able to exchange the delivery of supplies and wagons.  25 gold pieces per person was sadly paid when the news of Gundren and Sildar’s abduction.  He was thankful that you rescued Sildar but pleaded with you to also find Gundren.  He offers 500 gold reward for his safe return. 

He also refused your pay for the rations.  He will top all of the men’s rations up to 10.  

Elmar Barthen said most of the respectful people will be at the inn tonight to meet your group if those Redbrands don’t ruin the gathering.

"Thank you for the rations.  Elmar, can you tell us more about the Redbrands?  It sounds like they are bothering more than just one person in this town. "

Elmar says,"Thel Dendrar, a local woodcarver, stood up to the Redbrands a tenday ago when they came by his shop and leered at his wife. The ruffians murdered him. Several townsfolk saw it happen. The Redbrands grabbed his body, and now his wife, daughter, and son have gone missing too."
“The Redbrands hassle every business in town, except for the Phandalin Miner’s Exchange. They don’t want trouble with Halia Thornton, who runs it.”
Toblen , the mayor is upset that the Redbrands have been allowed to terrorize the town, and that Harbin Wester, the townmaster, has done nothing to curtail them. However, he tries not to stir up trouble for fear that the Redbrands might retaliate against his wife and children.

"So this Redbrands are snatching your people's up. Better hide your kids and wife for the meantime.

Also, Thagakh never held this much gold in Thagak's life, Thagakh would like to buy a few things.

Since we have plans on visiting a castle, Thagakh wants a Ram, Portable, a Hammer, Sledge and a Grappling Hook. Last but not the least, 3 pieces of Soap. Thagak needs some serious bathing."

The half-orc hands over 8 gp, 6 cp.

Elmar switches his expression from somber to laughter, gathers the goods, and thanks Thagakh.

After procuring the items he bought, the half-orc realizes someone is not around.

"Thagakh just realized, old Akaas is not with us. Thagakh will go find him, we don't want old Akaas alone specially with Redbrands terrorizing the town."
