New adventure

In the wizard’s quarters at the foot of the bed is a sturdy, unlocked wooden chest holding the best pickings of the Redbrands’ loot over the last two months. It contains 180 sp, 130 gp, and a silk pouch containing five carnelians two peridots and one pearl . It also contains two magic items that he brought with him from Neverwinter: a scroll of charm person and a scroll of fireball. The wizard also wielded  a staff of defense .

Lord Albrek,

My spies in Neverwinter tell me that strangers are due to arrive in Phandalin. They could be working for the dwarves. Capture them if you can, kill them if you must, but don’t allow them to upset our plans. See that any dwarven maps in their possession are delivered to me with haste. I’m counting on you, Iarno. Don’t disappoint me.

In the wizard workshop...

Books and Notes. The wizard is trying to master the art of brewing potions and concocting alchemical mixtures. The books and notes scattered around the room are basic texts on alchemy.

Among the books is a tome written in Dwarvish. The journal of an adventurer named Urmon, it describes the history of the Lost Mine of Phandelver and the Forge of Spells. In addition, Urmon records that a magic mace named Lightbringer was commissioned by priests of Lathander, the god of dawn, from the mages working with the gnomes and dwarves of the Phandelver’s Pact. The mace was lost when Wave Echo Cave and its mine vanished from history.

Treasure

Most of the materials in this room have no value, but three small bottles hold rare reagents: mercury, dragon bile, and powdered nightshade. 

johnson helps gather all the useful items and the note.

we should find the others. I could use some assistance... next time i think someone else can lead the charge because that was the worst.

Akaas puts on one of the red robes and hands robes to the others explaining maybe the skeletons won't attack if they're in disguise.

The half-orc scratches the back of his head.

"Thagakh can't hear the crying anymore. They are probably dead or gone."

Boghadair collects the coin as Johnson gathers the larger items and says to him "Agreed.  Next time we work in groups of two or more."  

Boghadair also noticed the note on the desk "This letter is addressed to Iarno Albrek.  Isn't that the chap that Sildar was looking for? "

Akaas turns to Droop. "Droop, please lead us to the woman and her children. Thagakh, please move the barricade so we can exit the room."

Ian says to Johnson,”maybe it would be better if I enter rooms ahead of you.  You keep your eyes open for traps though.”

After gathering items , Ian leads the group to the door that Thagakh and the others went through.

To Johnson: 

This slender, hollow staff is made of glass yet is as strong as oak. It weighs 3 pounds. You must be attuned to the staff to gain its benefits and cast its spells.

While holding the staff, you have a +1 bonus to your Armor Class.

The staff has 10 charges, which are used to fuel the spells within it. With the staff in hand, you can use your action to cast one of the following spells from the staff if the spell is on your class’s spell list: mage armor (1 charge) or shield (2 charges). No components are required.

The staff regains 1d6 + 4 expended charges each day at dawn. If you expend the staff’s last charge, roll a d20. On a 1, the staff shatters and is destroyed.

To Thagakh group.... are all wearing red robes?

Johnson can hear the sounds of people talking on the other side of the door... sounds like Akaas and Thagakh 

Ooc: are any robes large enough for Thag?

There are a few extra large robes for the lucky event that the Redbrands might attrack a Goliath or bigger to there ranks.

While wearing a red robe, Thagakh makes his best impression of a redbrand with a mocking voice.

"Herpy derp I am a redbrand, better hide your kids and your wife. Hide your husbands too herpy derp."

After a few minutes, he realizes they haven't found the source of crying and whimpering voices.

"Well, Thagakh tried his best finding them. Thagakh will just check how many weapons did Thagakh hoarded earlier from the rack."
