A few curious bees crawl out of Huck's beard and land on Gordon's helmet, inspecting it closely.
"Say, Gordon, you looking for anything in particular out here? Or just keen on adventures?" Huck asks.
"I may be pretty tall, but I was always the shortest to the other goliaths. Being up in the mountains, where my clan members were so comfortable, was actually suffocating to me. I came here to prove that I was good enough, even though I was only half goliath." He looks into his tea, and continues, "I fought for others entertainment, and impressed a frost giant, who showed me the ways of rune carving. Now, I can take on powerful monsters with the giant magic I earned. Maybe, if I can earn a fortune and become a powerful adventurer, my clan will respect me, even if I can't live up in the thin mountain air."

Huck nods thoughtfully as he listens to Gordon's story.
"That sounds like a rough start, friend. You've come a mighty long way, and it can't have been easy. I commend your bravery," he says, lifting his cup respectfully in Gordon's direction before taking the last sip.
"Now, if you fellas don't mind letting an old man rest his bones just a little longer, I'm going to catch some quick shut eye." With that, Huck leans back against his rucksack. He closes his eyes, and a moment later, lets out a loud snore. He continues to snore for the rest of the break.
"It seems that things want to attack me wherever I go. I do not mind as much out here, as there tend to be less innocent bystanders."
"For, the last few years there have been these spirits chasing me around trying to convince me that I am supposed to help guide souls to the after life. The harder I fight them, the more they start interfering with my life and the more others get hurt. I have been able to hide from them out here -- if not from death and destruction entirely."
He realizes Huck has drifted off and sits there awkwardly.

Gordon takes two pieces of metal out of his bag, then a set of smith's tools. He also takes out the dead nothic, and burns it in the fire. (Gordon's bag is a bag of holding, if you haven't guessed) He uses the tools he retrieved to start carving a set of runes into each one, which, once he finishes them, begin glowing yellow and blue, respectively. The yellow runes, Gordon tells Minty, mean "much sweetness-from-bees" while the blue rune set means "protection from unwanted-spirits". He sets the yellow rune next to Huck, and gives the blue one to Minty. "It's not quite as magical as the ones I use to fight, but it might help." A few minutes later (so Minty can say something back), a new encounter comes. 20, 8 away.

A few bees land on Minty's knee as he speaks. It's hard to tell, but they seem to be waving their antennae apologetically. The small clusters remains on his knee for several minutes, buzzing quietly in much the same way that a cat purrs.
Huck startles awake at the end of the rest. Seeing the rune Gordon carved for him, he gives a big smile, and tucks it carefully in a special pocket of his rucksack.

Gordon will run forward, and throw a battered sword at the nothic, while shouting in common, "Kill the one eyed beast, it's evil!" Persuasion: 6 The orcs are indifferent, so if Gordon rolls 10 or more, the orcs will attack the nothic retreating if they take damage, and he gets a 20 or mote, they will not retreat.

The nothic look into the secrets of one of the orcs, (12 vs. 19) if it wins, it gets advantage to convince the orcs to attack you.

It fails, and it cannot speak common, which means it can't talk to the orcs, so it has disadvantage.
