Roland scratched his head. "Why do you think they'll let us in the prison just because we bring them someone? Even if we were to step inside, I doubt it would be past the lobby, and I doubt they'd take their eyes off us. I'm not seeing any gain in it."
"That said, yes, we don't know when the wagon is due back at the prison. Hmmm. The driver seems out of it at the moment. I wonder if he might have some sort of--um, schedule papers--on himself or in the room."
Twig's head swings back and forth as she looks between Roland and Tilsu. She butt's in every so often.
"Oh I can definitely pick the lock or some pockets."
"She's probably right, you'd both be very loud."
"Even if i do get caught, I assure you i can get un-caught!"
She nods at Tilsu's plan then says, "Why don't we do both plans? You two catch a prisoner and somehow convince the guards that you HAVE to accompany him to the prison cell. While you do that, Zhernon and I will sneak in on the wagon."
When Roland mentions schedule papers, Twig jumps off the bed and says, "Doesn't hurt to find out!" And rushes out the door to find the driver's room.
Roland nodded at Twig's initiative as she darted out the room. She also caused him to think for another moment.
He turned back to Tilsu. "I think a lot of this will depend on the wagon's schedule. If it'll take awhile until the next delivery anyway, then there's no reason NOT to spend the time trying to find the kidnapper, even if just for the reward. If we DO find him... well, I guess we could *ensure* that it's to our advantage: one of us poses as his accomplice and gets captured with him. Or just causes trouble in general along the way, to justify getting dragged in with him. It's risky, but guarantees entry; and I'll volunteer if that helps."
"While it is a prison, it was built as an outpost. Majority of the rooms would have been redone to be cells, so we'd more likely be led to the warden's office to discuss rewards. And I doubt they'd be focused on us as its a new arrival who kidnapped someone. They'd most likely interrogate them for the stolen person's location." Tilsu answers, "And don't pose as an accomplice, whoever does shall be stuck here by law and not a curse. Get into a drunken brawl or something, that'll do a single night in there.
It does not take long for Twig to find the room with the sleeping Branig as she can hear him snore quite loudly. The room is quite plane with a decent bed near a small window. Its decorated with a few rugs and side table.
Twig quietly sneaks into the room and closes the door softly behind her. Then she starts searching the room for papers and anything else valuable. If she doesn't find them somewhere around the room, she will move over to the sleeping Branig, and start going through his pockets.
She finds a note asking Branig to transport a crate of supplies from the docks to the prison tomorrow and to ask him to hire some workers to help load and unload the heavy crate. The crate will be marked by a large red guardsmen emblem of the Scyora tree and helm.
The Warden promises to pay him generously upon delivery and sincerely thanks him for his hard work.
Twig promptly replaces the note and hurries back to the group.
"I found a note. He's supposed to get some supplies from the docks and take them back to the prison tomorrow. He's also supposed to hire some workers to help load AND unload the stuff."
"I found a note. He's supposed to get some supplies from the docks and take them back to the prison tomorrow. He's also supposed to hire some workers to help load AND unload the stuff."
The farmboy blinked. It was perfect--not only could they be escorted into the prison without incident, they also still had a chance at smuggling Delbyn out in the wagon. They might even discover what kinds of livestock the prisoners were raising. (Or at least he kept telling himself it was livestock.)
"Well. I guess you're good for something after all," smiled Roland, giving Twig a wink just to make his teasing obvious. Now with his mind at ease, he began doffing his armor as he continued, "I'm off to bed then; can't stalk the guy for a job while he's zoned out."
Finishing with his armor, he laid down on his bed, and was silent and motionless within the minute.
Twig gives Roland a wide grin before hopping into her own bed and crawling under the blankets backwards. After a short while, she starts snoring loudly, though the noise is muffled due to her head being covered by the blanket.
I assume everyone is sleeping. The night passes uneventfully and now its early morning. you smell the scent of bread and butter wafting through you door.
Zhernon will get up off a makeshift mat most likely and make their way downstairs and see about getting some of the bread and butter they smelled from upstairs. They'll find a seat off to the side and take in anyone else who might be down there or come and go.
Roland yawned and sat up in bed. He blinked about a few dozen times, each time becoming more and more lucid, until he finally felt fully awake. Getting out of bed, he began to worry when he saw that the others were already up. He donned his armor and headed downstairs.
Spotting the others, he hurried over to their table. "Anyone seen any sign of the driver yet?"
Once down into the common room you a see a table with a breakfast spread with breads, butter, coffee, fruit juice, oatmeal, jams, muffins, and pancake with syrup. Most of the guest are lining up. You see Branig chat with Kaphi as he grabs a cup of coffee.
The adventurer lady seems worried as she stares at the door as if expecting someone.
Following his growling stomach, the farmboy moved behind the other guests into line, and quickly filled a plate piled high, all while discreetly keeping an eye on Branig and Kaphi. Sitting back down, he went at his meal with gusto, worried that he'd have to leave suddenly and might miss a morsel. With practiced speed and efficiency, the plate was soon inhaled and Roland was washing it all down with his coffee.
Noticing the adventurer lady, Twig remembers something she heard in the last tavern. "You know, I heard something about Adventurers going missing. Do you think her friends are ok?"As she does this she casually follows Roland while he fills his plate, filling hers as he goes.
Tilsu heads towards the reception and as she comes before Branig, giving a bow, "Please forgive me. I apologize for bothering you last night. I did not know that you were so tired, sir, and it was wrong of me to burden you with my troubles." Tilsu says, raising her head, "Is there any way I can repay you for your generosity? I feel bad enough that I distracted you from your work."

Tilsu dons her armor and cloak once more, hiding away her snake features. She heads down to the inn's ground floor, looking about for the driver.

Zhernon nodded slightly. "Show them some silver and they'll show you some bread. I suppose be on the lookout for the driver too."
