"We should head to see him then - I suppose." Gymlynn states, rather gruffly - not keen on the idea of the leader of a town locking themselves away. She never saw this kind of behavior from communities until she came to the surface - but Dwarven communities were different that way. She knew that if they were to go into the mountains, they would need all the help they could get - and something to ride on. She also looked down at Shaes feet. "Shoes for you, maybe?" She suggested, shrugging at her own question.
The bard's brow furrows as he mutters something under his breath. "The dwarf speaks her mind, travellers. Tell me what it is you wish to do first, for I have business to return to soon."
"So eager to be done with us already? And here I thought we were on our way to being fast friends," Sara says giving him an exaggerated look of insult before it falls apart into a laugh.
"Do not worry, we plan to head out soon enough. Mr. Wester first for information and possible assistance. Then off to the dig site next I believe?" She turns to the other three for confirmation, not wanting to speak unilaterally for the group."Unless anyone else had something to take care of in town?"
Lilniana nodded, "Seems a fair plan to me I think. Since you seem to be a bit of a local then maybe, perhaps you know more about this dragon problem? Why won't we all walk and talk then."
With Keph leading the way, you all make your way to the townmaster's house. The front door is shut and all of the windows are covered as well. When you knock on the door you hear from the other side, "If you’re a dragon, know that I’m far too thin and bony to make a good meal!"

“It’s not a complicated business” Keph says as he gestures for the group to follow, “Still, I’m not really the one you should ask - Harbin can lay you out a better account, I’m sure”
Any who pay close attention to the stranger might notice that he prefers to remain unseen - he keeps his hood up at all times and attempts to avoid high traffic paths. Furthermore, he seems to become more and more anxious the deeper they delve into the city. When after a good fifteen minutes they finally arrive at Wester’s door, he speaks in hushed tones. “Friends, I won’t follow you inside - meet me here in three-quarters of an hour, no longer. I have a quick errand to attend.”
@DM, are there any stalls which supply medical equipment? Keph wants to show some goodwill and acquire some linen bandages for Shae’s foot.

Gymlynn blinked, hearing the response from the town master inside. He furrowed her brow and started to bang on the door. "If a dragon was looking for you, do you think he would knock on your door?" Realizing the aggressiveness of her action, she huffed and stepped away from the doorway - crossing her arms.
Sara watches their newest member grow increasingly nervous before dashing off outside the Town masters home. Turning to the rest of the group she sarcastically remarks with a sigh, "well, that wasn't suspicious at all."
Following the knocks and response Sara can't help but chuckle at Gymlynn's blunt calling out of the man's foolishness. Diplomacy was good, but sometimes brutal honesty was more effective.
You hear Harbin from the other side of the door say, "I don't know! Maybe dragons need permission to enter a house. If you know so much about dragons maybe you can do something to get rid of the one around here!" There is a pause and then Harbin says, "If you're not scared of being outside, perhaps you can give a warning to those outside of Phandalin. I put notices on the board in front of the Townmaster's Hall if you haven't looked there, or I can tell you who needs to be warned. Also, I've heard that the gnomes the live close by have and build magical inventions, maybe they have something useful. I'll pay you of course for the work you do."

“That’s Vampires, sir. Vampires need permission to enter a house,” Shae confidently asserts based on the urban legends she has heard throughout her life.
“Dragons are actually more likely to enter your house without permission than not, as they prefer to not eat outdoors. I guess I don’t have any first or second hand knowledge to confirm that, though so take that with a grain of salt…” Shae shrugs. “Anyway, could you tell us where the latest dragon sighting was?”
"Well, I'm still not taking any chances." Harbin says. "Why do you want to find the dragon!? Do you have a death wish!? Anyway, I haven't heard anything about its whereabouts and I'd like to keep it that way. The less I hear about it the more I can think that it isn't here."

"Okay, well you don't need my permission to go up into the mountains. I do wish you lick and safety in your travels, if that is really where you want to go." Harbin replies. "I don't have any mounts, and I doubt any of the farmers nearby would risk losing their work horses."

Gymlynn thinks for a moment, putting her hands at her sides - already done with the man in question as he seemed to be of no help. "Perhaps we should see if there is a livery, or maybe take out chances with the farmers in getting a wagon and horses or something of the sort. If we go on foot, it will take awhile."
"It does look like we are on our own for now. Perhaps he will be more forthcoming when we have some better news for him," Lilniana suggested quietly. "And if we don't have anything but our own two feet to carry us, we had better get a move on."
At around this time, Kepheus returns with a tattered pair of leather shoes slung over his wrist. He's shredding what seems to be a sheet of cotton into lengths of bandage. "I might've guessed he would be little use to you. But hopefully you gained some insight on the dragon?"he says, and then turning to Shae: "Consider these a Phandalian welcome gift... your feet deserve better than blisters." The Redbrand hands her three strips of cotton and the shoes with a smile.
"Oh, thank you so much, Kepheus, you Red Brands certainly are a generous bunch!" Shae immediately sits down in the middle of the street and starts dressing her blisters, showing no regard for situational awareness. "I have spent a lot of time contemplating my future and how it relates to my past... well, my family's past really. I keep coming back to the same omen, the dragon. I'm really not sure what to make of it, but I'm sure that whatever I'm supposed to do, it has something to do with that dragon that's been pestering everyone."
Lilniana looks at the Redbrand and smiles. "Why, I walked here of course." She suddenly let out a laugh, "But I had had enough rounds in Neverwinter and some friends suggested I come down here and see if I can't be of some help with this dragon problem. So here I am."

"We would like to go into the mountains. Do you have any mounts that we could borrow?" She asks, clearly getting annoying.

Sara sighs and shakes her head while saying, "this man is either incompetent, a fool, or both. I think we may be on our own."
