(Is one of the zombies still prone from the trip attack?)
Nemean twirls his remaining scimitar and lunges at the zombie before him. As he steps into his attack he reaches for his dagger with his off hand and brings it around to stab at the creature he then surges forth, pressing the attack and swinging yet again at the creature.

Thulgrim continues to see through the pain of another zombie fist, spewing spittle through the air as he buckles its knee, then cleaves through half of its face. Somehow the creature still moves, struggling against the dwarven ferocity, which Nemean contrasts as he finesses his way around the flames still licking at his back. The tabaxi finds his opening as the flames flicker, then die out - by the channel, Roland has struck twice into the flameskull, his pointed blades only effective in holding the floating creature at bay, but disrupting its focus long enough for the spell to fade. Nemean uses the freedom of space well, slicing the nearby zombie with three precise cuts, and ending its pitiful return to life.
A black bear charges past, from where Finna had been standing. The skull screams, a horrible high-pitched wail, and its form suddenly blurs, shifting and wavering.

There isn't much left of the zombie when Thulgrim is finished with it. The stubborn creature clings to life, despite losing both of its arms and a portion of its head. Finally, the dwarf cleaves it horizontally at the hip, spraying the room with its rotted innards. Finna continues her charge in bear form, never stopping as she leaps, closing her jaws over the flameskull as if to ingest it. The wavering skull appears inches away, and the bear only manages to scrape its side and push it away, but disrupts its concentration, and it stills, hovering there above Roland.
The skull opens its cracked jaw wide, and a glow appears within, readying another fiery ray - and then it explodes, Finna's paw slamming into it and shattering it at its cracks into hundreds of pieces.
OOC: Each character has received 375 XP for defeating the zombies and flameskull. What a fight!
Room Description:
A blast furnace and a mechanical bellows powered by a waterwheel dominate this large chamber ahead of you. The furnace is cold and dark, but heaps of coal are piled nearby, along with carts full of unrefined ore. The waterwheel sits in a ten-foot-wide channel cut into the floor of the room, but the channel is dry. Passages exit the room to the west, east, and south (behind you). The empty channel exits to the north and east.
More than a dozen withered corpses are scattered around the room, some but not all having risen as zombies just a moment ago. These slain dwarves and orcs are still wearing the remnants of their armor.
As the last zombie falls, Thulgrim casts around wildly for more foes. Seeing none, the colour drains quickly out of his face, he drops his axe to the ground and sinks to a sitting position on the floor amongst the zombie carcasses, panting rapidly. After several long moments, he shakes his head, stands up and looks around, and says:
By Clanggedin, what a mess! Wha' happened here?
(OOC: Thulgrim has one level of exhaustion after Frenzy. He'll probably have another soon if he doesn't eat something, but killing zombies don't fulfill his blood oath)
Finna changed back, panting and trying to see anything in returning darkness, broken only with lamp on the floor. "We did it. Told you those are tough." She breathed a bit more and added: "You know, I am not a priest, but I were one, I would wash that room with Holy Water. Or at least sprinkle those remains."
Nemean will take his flask and sprinkle a few drops of holy water onto whats left of the flame skull, and uses the rest across the other zombie corpses in the room.
He then curiously goes to investigate the fallen warriors who had not arisen as undead. He examined them to determine what separated them from the zombies.

Thulgrim looks at the long-dead dwarves and whispers a quiet chant to Dumathoin. They'll be needin' a decent burial, but nae afore we finish the task at 'and, he says half to himself.
He looks over the bellows and any other apparatus, then looks around thinking of the layout of the place and where the forge would most likely have been. He'll wander around the immediate vicinity, but not go more than 10-15' down any adjoining tunnel or through any doors.
Finna found a torch in her backpack, lighted it up and squinted at bright light. "Have not been past that room. Does not look like there is much here. How does that thing we are looking for even look like? Would anyone recognize it?" When eyes adjusted she noticed Rolland's conditions: "Man, you a hurt! Like, really-really hurt. We have to stop for a while. I can scout around while you are dressing wounds."
The bits of bone hiss and smoke as Nemean pours the holy water atop them, before dissolving into a grey puddle. Thulgrim notes additional tunnels that exit the room to the west and east. The channel also runs out of the room to the north and east.
There doesn't seem to be much separating the corpses from the zombies. Most of the zombies were taller, and most likely orcs, but a couple of them were dwarves as well.
For Thulgrim:
The forge likely wasn't far from the bellows, as most of the manufacturing probably took place in the same portion of the mine.
OOC: As a reminder, there was a storeroom that seemed pretty safe and closed off to the south.
Removed a flask of holy water from Nemean's inventory.
Nemean nods and heads back towards the storeroom with Thulgrim. Though he was not injured, he showed other signs of the battle. His fur stood on edge and he now moved with a jittery quiver.
Once in the storeroom, he will find a cozy spot to enjoy a short rest from the action.

Whether to short rest or long rest is up to you: The world (and dungeon) is always moving dynamically around you, so there are certain risks associated with waiting for night to fall and resting, but it is also risky to press yourselves too hard.
