The humans look terrified, but the older woman responds to Argos, tears in her eyes. "Are you not the slavers? Oh thank the gods. We've been here for a few days, ever since the Redbrands murdered my husband Thel. He...stood up for me, when they made remarks about me and my daughter. And now he's gone...They returned to our home that night and abducted us. They told us slavers were coming for us. Can you help us?"

"I don't know, the doors haven't been unlocked since we were thrown in here. All I know is that their leader is a wizard and that he has tall, furry monsters with big ears working for him," she answers.
"Someone here has to have a key," Sildar offers, "They would not leave the slavers to simply break down the cell doors."
Tarok finds nothing of interest on the bodies of the guards.

OOC: A complete view of your knowledge of the hideout thus far. You are all still in the northeast section, in either the crypt or the jail areas. The rooms to the west are Glasstaff's room and workshop and the rooms where you fought Redbrands and bugbears earlier.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Nemean reassures the prisoners, "Don't worry we're not with the Redbrands, we'll get you out of here, and you don't need to worry about that Wizard or the big furry monsters anymore, now you've got a big furry monster of your own! Nemean Goldenmane at your service." he grinned and gestured to himself.
Seeing Tarok find nothing on the slain Redbrands he turns towards the group "Perhaps if we can't find anything in here we should check one of the other rooms off the cistern to try to find a way to free them?" He says as he examine the locks of the cells and kick through the pile of clothing in the room.
"I'll go ask the Redbrand down in the hole if he knows anything." Argos continues back to the hole with the Redbrand and questions him about the location of any keys for the jail cells.
Nemean examines the locks and clothing. The locks are shut tight with no obvious errors. The pile of clothing is full of commoner's shirts and pants, and judging by the size of the pile, appears to be around a dozen people's worth of clothing.
Sildar offers a hearty laugh at Tarok's suggestion and steps aside, motioning to the cell doors. "You may want to get in the corner, away from the doors," he says to the prisoners.
In the hole, the Redbrand spits to the side at Argos's question. "For the love of the gods, get me out of here first. That was the deal! You keep me alive, I talk."
Argos responds to the Redbrand, "You seem alive enough to me. We'll get you out after we're done here, unless you don't help me out here. Where are the keys?"
Argos returns to the jail room, speaking to the party. "The Redbrand in the hole said Glasstaff handled the prisoners himself, he must have the keys. I'll go check it out, anyone else coming with?" Argos goes to Glasstaff's room and searches the remnants of his body first then his work desk.
Tarok winds up and smashes his maul against the chilled lock, but it holds strong, seemingly well-reinforced.
OOC: Tarok, for clarity there are two locks and cells in this room, one to the north (the boy) and one to the south (the women). You could use a separate check to try to bust down the other.
Argos, which way are you headed to Glasstaff's chambers? Out and around the way you came, or through the north door of the crypt and into the storeroom where you first found him through a secret door?
Nemean looks alarmingly at the prisoners. “What is this place? What have the Redbrabds been doing here? this goes beyond simple banditry...”

"We didn't know you were here, but we're here to help. Do you by any chance know who kept the keys for these cells?"
A surprise, to be sure, but a welcome one.

Tarok listens politely and begins searching the gruesome remains of the two jailers.

Tarok looks at the locked cells, looks at his maul, then back at the cells.
"Do you think there is a way to open these cells without the key if those guards don't have it?" he says to Sildar.

"Hold on a second, Tarok." Cinis said, hefting his new staff. He cast Ray of Frost on the lock of the cell. "Alright, go for it."

He raises his maul and tries the other cell door with a swing.

Argos exits the crypt through the north door to find a short 15-foot hallway that ends at a doorway to the east.
In the jail, Tarok smashes at the northern cell door to find that it is sturdy on its hinges, unmoving.
OOC: Argos, let me know if you'd like to continue in this room or head to Glasstaff's chambers a different way.
