"Will-do," I say, quickly stashing my still-soggy book into the bag to prevent it from getting any soggier, along with his satchel full of other stuff (most anything else I have that could have been damaged by the water, such as the non-magical book, letter, and the starter-equipment spellbook are still in my room back at the other inn). "Von, I'm afraid I'm going swimming. I'm running low on spells; if the two of you get caught I should be able to break you both out after extracting payment from our friend back at the other tavern, but I think it would be in our best interest to make our getaway NOW before any bloodshed happens."
I quickly use Mage Hand to slam the front door shut as the ladies throw their spells at the guards and make a b-line for the nearest ocean-facing window.
(There are too many to make saving throws for each of them, so I'm just going to use the probability of them failing instead for the whole group. I will roll for the leader, though.)
(DM screen noises. Goddamn, nat 20, and what a waste of a nat 20 that was.)
A passive look falls over around a dozen of the guards, just over half, as they seem to lose any sort of sense for what they were doing, and seem pretty much indifferent to the situation. Three more of them fall over, deeply asleep. When all is said and done, only four of the guards, as well as their leader seem to still be on task. The leader advances, pulling from his belt a thick, weighted net.
"Magic! Keep your wits about you, and wake those men up!"
Three of the men wake the three who were knocked out by Chlorys' spell, while the remaining guard and the leader chase after you all. Both raise their nets and cast them, one at Von and one at Chlorys.
Both hit, and Von and Chlorys are both restrained. Von takes an additional 7 bludgeoning damage as the leader's net knocks her down with the brutal force of the throw. Make a concentration check to maintain Calm Emotions!
Camus makes it to the other side of the Floating Fighter, and next turn may plunge himself into the depths if he so chooses.
At this point, roll initiative!

As much as I hate to leave my friends behind... it's not going to be a lot of help to them if I get myself caught to. I'm going to jump into the drink the instant I get the chance.

Unhappy that the market got rid of individual purchases for one-off subclasses, magic items, and monsters?

As I cast a look over the room, I feel the need to put some fear into these people before I jump... perhaps it's a bit of an ego thing now that I am thoroughly pissed off. Also... if they think that Von and Chlorys were under duress, perhaps there's a chance that the law will show them mercy. I'm going to use my action on an Intimidate check before using my movement to jump out the window.

I lift my hand up and pull the mask off, revealing my face to the leader and the guard in the room as they attempt to take my friends into custody.
"It seems you have gotten the best of my servants," I say menacingly, the empty holes that once contained a pair of eyes staring directly into the leader's face. "No matter, I can easily enslave others to my will. I bid you a good night."
I fling my arms out in a crucifix-style pose, the mask still clutched in one hand. Then I proceed to use my movement to tumble backwards out the window into the icy water below.

As Camus disappears I use thramaturgy to make my eyes glow bright green before flickering back to normal and gasp, “Thank the gods you arrived when you did, captain! Had you not broken the foul fiend’s concentration I feared we would never escape his hellish mind control. I’m just glad you arrived before he summoned that giant skull again,” rubbing her eyes and shaking her head to help sell the deception.

"Von....psssst... Von..." Chlorys mutters under her breath, calling to the Orc in her native tongue, forever grateful for being forced to learn it, "I have an idea... play along." Chlorys let herself go limp in the bindings, falling to the ground only for a moment before shuddering, wildly looking about and half screeching, "Thank the God's! I'm free! FInally Im free!!! I'm free of that wretched creatures curse!" She meekly tries crawling towards the guards but slumps back to the ground. "H...how long has it been.... wh... what have I done?" She groans.
(Would they have a disadvantage on their insight check since they are currently experiencing sheer terror from meeting a lich?)
As I float to the bottom of the sea, I hope that my ploy will be enough to get my companions out of trouble. If not, I vow to break them out as soon as reasonably possible... well, right after paying Amadeus a little visit, that is.
I slog along the bottom of the ocean for a half-hour or so to make sure that I'm a good distance away from the Floating Fighter. When I feel fairly safe, I emerge from beneath the waves. I don't even bother to hide my face at this point, and my dripping hood is pulled back. It's the middle of the night, and If anyone sees me, they'll probably assume that I'm the spirit of a vengeful drowned sailor emerging from the depths or something... you know, the kind of thing that it would be best to run away from rather than bothering.
After scanning the area from just off shore and making sure that no one is round to cause serious issues, I make my way to the nearest small cave, or even a large tree, that can provide a bit of shelter so I can take a four-hour Long Rest... during which time I would like to use the Cantrip Formulas feature to swap out Shocking Grasp for Prestidigitation. I also would like to change up my spell list a little bit; I'm going to un-prep False Life and replace it with Disguise Self. The first thing I'll do with Prestidigitation is finally clean my poor grimoire of silt and other gunk.
Upon completing all this, I think it's time to deal with Amadeus... but I want a little bit of backup just in case he proves reluctant to honor his end of the bargain. I'm going to try and find a couple of corpses that can serve as muscle for me (preferably hanging bodies of criminals that I can easily cut down and pop into the Bag of Holding... sorry about the smell, Chlorys. I promise to clean your bag later).

(Sorry for late response time, I've got the spotty monster. After two and a half years of being healthy, Covid's finally wrapped its claws around me. Camus, I'll get to what happens after you leave soon, for the time being I need to resolve Chlorys and Von)
"What in the-" The lead guard looks about in confusion, but his eyes still remain arrowed, his blade out. "Dispel your magic, then. You did something to my men. If you are truly no longer under... that thing's power, free my men. Either way, I'm taking you two in. For questioning."

"Sh...shouldn't be a problem." Chlorys closes her eyes as to not show her disappointment, cursing her bad luck. For the time being it seemed, Chlorys was caught, trapped alongside Von and all she could hope for now was that they would let them go, or if she could trust him, hope that Camus would come back. "I still want my bag back." She muttered.
Chlorys hands he bag to Camus, "Just in case this doesn't work, that sounds great! Promise you'll get it back to me though if we get caught!"
(I cast Sleep on the guards from my 3rd level spell slot on the guards)
