As the party comes to where the creature was standing you can see to the right a long stone tunnel heading to a staircase heading up. A large break in the wall is in the left leading out of the stone tunnel.
Lookin the hole you see a cave with fungal growth inside and a path leading back deeper. You can tell from the ruble that something broke out of this cave into the large hall.
Joree examines the cave floor, trying to see if the beast left tracks or some other indication of whether it broke the wall in a panic while fleeing, or just to find food or something.
Survival (or investigation, they are the same modifier): 16
"It came exiting the cave. It might have been fleeing from something bigger. If that's true, once we fight the bigger thing, we will know to expect less from the one back there!" Joree nods, satisfied with her logic. Assuming the check doesn't indicate there is a threat in the vicinity, she is going to proceed into the cave to the turn to examine further.
Your survival check makes you think that it was predatory territory expansion, not fleeing.
Seeing no threats Jorlee leads the group into the cavern. As the party moves into it the air takes on a putrid smell. Moving around a few twist and turns the party comes to an obelisk set into the ground sticking up. On the left and right strange underground vegetation looks off like something is encased in it.
B is going to slip both of the rings on and see what happens.
As you slip the ring on you can feel magic slide over you but beyond that nothing apparent changes.
‘‘Guys, did you hear that?’’ B asks the group quietly
"Sounds like it went away. Shall I take the lead again? We can proceed to the right turn."
‘‘Yeah, i trust your judgement’’ B says seeming very lost in his head
Joree nods, and proceeds down the tunnel towards the right turn, shield and morningstar at the ready.

‘‘Stairs or hole?’’ B asks still seeming very distracted
Joree shrugs, and goes over to the hole to investigate.

"Hmm... There's a cave here. Must've been where that thing came from. Should we investigate, or stick to the worked stone?"
"Lets check what's down the hole, unless anyone objects" says Hocerys
‘‘I have no objections’’

‘‘Bloody hell what is that smell’’ B covers there nose and mouth.
"Adventure, my friend! Adventure reeks, usually."
Joree is going to investigate the obelisk, activating her last divine sense to see if it is desecrated.
Its not desecrated but it is magical.
‘‘Whats the deal with the big statue?’’ B asks
"What a strange location for the obelisk and what is going on with these plants." says Hocerys. He moves over to check out the strange vegetation
