Seraphina takes a step back, not really understanding what is going on here. "There is no need for rudeness.  I do not know what a nothic is?  What were you before?  Maybe we can help?  Is transforming back your serious business or are you referring to something else?"

Cybele immediately puts the book down at being chastised and hides her hands behind her back. 

"Yeah, we're here on serious business too! Maybe we can help each other, we help you, you help us." Cybele nods at her own idea. "That sounds fair doesn't it? You look like you are having a difficult time on your own as it is. And we've already had to battle your cursed statues downstairs to be here." 

Zala softens her tone and apologizes. "I'm sorry...I've been really testy since I helped Markos contact Krokulmar and that Far Realm entity caused my transformation. Now all I can do is turn to the stars, hoping to find a way to return to my human form. If you help me get a map of the Great Snake constellation from the star-map room, I'll tell you about a secret door and how to open it. The chart is in the south-west corner room on this floor - I need to keep an eye on the skies. Will you get the chart for me?"

"Markos?  We are actually looking for him as well, what can you tell us about him?  And yes.. I think we can help you get the chart.  A secret door sounds fun!"  Seraphina looks to Cybele and Meiki to see their reactions as well, but figures what do they have to lose?

Zala answers Seraphina, "Since the day Markos contacted Krokulmar, its presence has slowly warped Delphi Mansion and its residents. I have no interest in Markos or his current activities...I just want to return to my human form before it's too late."

Seraphina nods and heads to the door that leads to the middle of the floor and listens.

(This time she does plan on heading through :) )

Hearing nothing at the door, Seraphina opens it and sees a 20' x 40' hallway with two doors on the north wall (about 10' and 30' away from you) and a set of double doors in the center of the south wall. (updated map)

As the party traverses the hall, six stirges fly down from the ceiling and attack! (Stealth for stirges: 4 -- Initiative: 15)

The stirges fly down fast at you - normally they are much harder to detect but you are all a bit more cautious now...Seraphina can take an action before they are on you!

Seraphina unsheathes and swipes out with her longsword in one fluid motion, hoping to cut some of the creatures out of the horde..

• Seraphina slices through one of the creatures, killing it.
• Stirges: These horrid monsters look like a cross between a large bat and an oversized mosquito. Their legs end in sharp pincers, and their long, needle-like proboscis slash the air as they seek to feed on your blood!

Round 1(con't): Seraphina(-0) -- Stirges(-8; -0; -0; -0; -0; -0) -- Cybele(-13) -- Meiki(-12) {Cybele and Meiki each have two stirges attached to them. They can use their action to detach one of them but not do any damage to it...}

• Meiki carefully pries one of the tiny bloodsucking monsters from his exposed flesh and watches as it flies around to potentially attack him again! (1 still attached...)

Round 2: 

• Seraphina ...

Cybele frantically runs around trying to shake the giant bug-creatures off, screaming throughout the whole ordeal "OFF OFF OFF OFF!".  She tries to alternatively shake of the creatures or use the surrounding walls and any furniture to push/scrape them off. She watches in relief as one finally lets her go, only to realize in horror that there were two!

Can Seraphina attack the one still on Cybele's face?  If so, that's the one she is going for, if not, she'll attack the one she just flung off of her.

She takes her sword and careful not to hit cybele, slices at the creature, attempting to kill it.

(You can use an action to remove a stirge, or attack one not attached to someone...which do you choose?)

Round 2: 

• Seraphina slashes the stirge that Cybele just pulled off of her.
• The stirges still attached to Cybele and Meiki continue sucking blood, causing 4 damage to Cybele and 5 damage to Meiki. The two flying about attack Cybele and Meiki again!
  • Attack vs Cyblele: 16 Damage: Unable to parse dice roll.
  • Attack vs Meiki: 22 Damage: 5
• Cybele ...
• Meiki ...

• Cybele falls from blood loss! The stirges attached to her detach and fly off to the ceiling to digest their meal...as does the stirge attached to Meiki. 
• Meiki rushes over to Cybele as she falls to the ground and calls upon the power of the woodland gods to heal her! (Casting Cure Wounds at 2nd level to heal 18 points of damage!)

Round 3: Seraphina(-0) -- Stirges(-0 flying) -- Cybele(-5) -- Meiki(-19)

• Seraphina ...

Cybele is incapacitated and unconscious as she falls, her skin becomes prickly and she feels as though the floor beneath her might swallow her up. It takes a moment to wake after Meiki heals her. (just lmk when I can make an action again) 

Seraphina watches Cybele fall in horror and just as she is about to run to her new friend's side, Meiki takes care of her.  

Breathing a sigh of relief, she attacks another of the flying stirges
