Feeling the revitalizing energies of Cole's spell diffusing the pain on the wound that the crazy man has inflicted, Lenn grabs his greatsword, ready to return the favor to him.
"Now you are going to fight me... " he says as he raises his greatsword and cuts down the man on a diagonal movement.
A sudden silver flash comes out of Lenn's sword as it cuts through the man. Blood is spilled on the ground and the dirt of the roads of Barovia is tainted by it once again. The smell of the blood makes something in Lenn's chest to growl in anticipation.
"... and you are going to meet death."
Rolls on the game log
Attack: 22 and 9 Damage: 13 slashing 8 radiant ( Spend 1 slot on smite )
BA Compelled duel: ST WIS 13 or have disadvantage to attack anyone except Lenn and he has to make a ST if he wants to move away.
A beam of cold blue light streaks outward from Nikolai's hand, racing toward Strange Man 2. (Attack roll with adv: 15, colddamage 6). A shadowy outline of a dragon's head briefly appears behind Nikolai, then vanishes.
(OOC: Yeah, I had meant Chara's other side, but you're right it doesn't matter ;). Especially since Chara's taken to the sky now lol. I have one concern though about Lenn's action: Compelled duel will end if one of us deals damage to the target. I was planning on attacking that person, but I don't want to render Lenn's spell pointless. However, Lucian doesn't know anything about the spell that Lenn is using, or even that he's using it so realistically he would still attack. I think Lucian could get to where he could attack the other enemy, but I wanted to give Lenn a chance to explain his plan first so that Lucian's action makes sense.)
(Just go with it, he will explain later... we are still knowing how to function as a cohesive team and even learn about our own powers. So if the spell turns out to be pointless is ok but thanks for askin! ;) )
Lucian is glad that Lenn is beside him to have his back. He also notices that the actions of the strange man left him vulnerable... would it be worth it to slip in and risk taking damage himself? There wasn't much time to think though, so before he knows it he's moved towards the stranger with the intent of pummeling him until he drops.
He still has the dagger in his left hand, but he uses his fist instead of the blade on his second blow, stabbing with the toothpick grip before pulling it free and attempting to land a punch.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Round 2.
Brandisengages and limps his way to safety, following along the road east - from which the party came - as far as he can move. Then he casts Healing Word on himself 8. Original result in case the edit breaks it: 8
Seeing Braninjured, both Charaand Eithne move to attack Strange Man 1, dealing him quite a bit of damage. Unfortunately, it doesn't appear to have lessened his zeal for the fight.
Cole works to heal Lenn, while Lenn, Lucian, and Nikolaiall target Strange Man 2, pummeling him with force and blade. Although much more wounded than his companion, he too seems determined to continue to fight.
As a result, Strange Man 2, once again, swings at Lenn, hitting him in the shoulder for 12 points of damage. Strange Man 1, in turn, swings at Eithne, but she is able to dodge the blow and escapes unharmed.(Once again they have opened themselves up to advantage on your attacks)
Oh... guess I should say what ability checks Chara's Hex gave Strange Man 1 disadvantage on... it's going to be Strength, just in case he tries something like attempting to grapple one of our party.

Unhappy that the market got rid of individual purchases for one-off subclasses, magic items, and monsters?
The voices in the savage stranger's head continue to fuel her boundless fury: 'Kill Eithne, kiEAGGHll!' 'These violent monsters are no different from the ones that slaughtered us all! Avenge us Eithneeee!' 'Get their guts ouUOWRGHt!' 'Put out their eyes!' 'YAAARGH!'
And the last of the dusk elf maidens agrees with the voices, is one with the voices, gets lost in the voices; she sees reality only through the transfiguring veil of her battle rage by now.
Her sharp reflexes allow her to deftly dodge the attack of one whom she now perceives only as a monster to be slayed - at which point she counterattacks and swings the greataxe to slay him, while he is off balance and exposed!
"I will butcher you and feed your innards to my she-wolf!"
Grunting, feeling the blunt force of the attack and hearing how one or two ribs crack under his armor and padded leather beneath it, Lenn closes his eyes. The crazy man is making him feeling something different from the Hunger that consumes him everyday.
"You are strong, mad one." he says, looking for an open spot on the man's defenses and seeing that he has positioned himself for them to attack almost freely. " But you are not as strong as my thirst for revenge!"
This time Lenn moves upwards his blade, trying to cut one of the man's arms.
Bran had thought many things when the fight started.
He thought that if he moved away from the attackers, it would mean to leave Nikolai alone and exposed, and he didn't like that idea. He also thought that they still needed to reach the winery to face whatever problems where expecting them there. He tought it was best to keep his stronger magic resources unused until then. He thought his lesser magic spells would be enough to keep the guy in front of him at bay.
But when the bard saw the axe coming right at him - eventhough his mockery had clearly affected the brute - he knew he had thought wrong.
Bran screamed at the excruciating pain that took sudden hold of him and stopped being able to think of anything else than trying to keep himself safe. With Eithne and Chara now attacking his foe, he saw an opportunity to get away and limped his way out of that axe's reach, leaving a trail of his own blood both on the road and on his right hand - which he had put over the deep cut to try slow down the blood flow.
"Stupid. Stupid!! It is you who are the dimwit, Bran", he thought as he moved away.
He felt better when he casted the spell that cured him almost completely. But that was a physical recovery that didn't cure the shame he was now feeling. If this was to be his performance against two random attackers on the road, what could he expect to achieve when the party had to face greater enemies? There was no room for mistakes such as this one, specially taking into account everything the bard wanted - and needed - to achieve.
Nikolai speaks a word in Draconic, and another beam of cold blue light streaks outward from his hand, racing toward whichever Strange Man is more wounded and still standing. (Attack roll with adv: 15, colddamage 6).

Chara notices that Lenn just took another nasty hit... and it looks bad. She silently prays that using Healing Light on him won't cause him to combust or something since he's a vampire. She'll uses her bonus action to spend all of her Healing Light on healing him, restoring 11 hit points.
But her main focus is still on the man who nearly decapitated Bran... Chara calls forth a glorious Guiding Bolt to try to finish strange man 1 off.

"What possessed you to do this?!"the she-devil demands, a few tears welling up at the corners of her eyes as she unleashes holy flames upon the madman. "We didn't come here looking for trouble! I didn't want to hurt you or anyone else! But you've forced us to fight you... why?!"
(If Chara's Guiding Bolt hit, the next attack roll made against Strange Man 1 before the end of her next turn will be made with advantage)
The terrible wound of his thigh didn't exist anymore, but the memory of the pain was still fresh in Bran's mind. Despite that, he swept the hair from his face - gesture that resulted in part of the blood soaking his right hand getting transfered to his cheek - and tried to focus on the fight once more.
Though the group was fighting the two wild men bravely, one had managed to land another tough blow on Lenn, and the other - that had attacked Bran himself - was still standing, too. Was he just going to stand there looking while the rest where giving their best to end these two ****ers? Was he going to use his lower spells once again? No, the time of being moderated - gentle, even - had passed.
The bard wanted to hear that man scream in pain.
So he backtracked the steps he had walked moments ago with his blood-covered hand extended towards that man, the red vital liquid dripping slowly from it. At the same time, he felt his heart pounding. It sounded like an intense but somewhat discordant melody. And it rised ... and rised ... and rised ... filling his chest ... reaching his head ... and his extended hand ... to finally fill his whole body.
When Bran spoke, the now thunderous pounding had also been imprinted in his voice.
-Scream for me, you son of a *****.
Brangoes back to the back of the cart - that is, two squares north of Nikolai - andcasts Dissonant Whisperson the guy that attacked him. (WIS SAVE DC 14)
(I hope the guy is still alive and that he fails this save, or this will have been cool ... but a total waste hahaha!
Here's to hoping he fails, gets a little psychic damage and also some good AOO from those around him because he will have to use his reaction to move away from Bran! )
Cole runs up between the cart and Lenn and casts Cure Wounds. 10
