"Leeeemmmmooogggoooggggggoooonnn!" babbles Buppido, still mad with terror "It's coming, Khessa! It's cooooomingggg! One of his heads! One of his heads is near me! I would defend you, but something is dragging me away..."
"Yes Buppido," confirms Khessa "something blond, pissed off and tired, to be exact! So... would you mind keeping still, at least? And, by the way, the head 'near you' is the one of Silas".
'I would like to try to make him use the legs with which mother nature, in her infinite wisdom, has endowed him...' thinks of the blonde arcane warrior 'But he still seems too crazy... If he doesn't move and I have to take him back, we're just wasting time. And we don't have any time to waste!'
"Come on!" the tall adventuress exhorts her companions "Let's run with all the last energy we have! We can do it!"
Khessa also tries to see if there could be some mount or means of locomotion that would allow all to go faster (OOC: but with the Perception roll she made, she probably wouldn't even see an elephant by the side of the road)... but in the while she squeezes every residual energy from her powerful physique to cover the last stretch that separates the party from salvation.
Seeing how slow Stool is going, Katryl will try to pick him up and carry him, if he allows. (And if she can!) She'll still try to help Eldeth along as well. "Come on! Let's keep going!"
You struggle in desperation toward the gate, the ever increasing howl of the fearsome demon lord thrashing his way toward the city, screams echoing along with the chants of madness. Then a strange sight appears! A kuo-toa is walking toward you! But they seem completely unaffected by what's going on! At least, until he sees you coming toward him in fear and madness and then hobbles closer before looking out toward the city a moment."By the powers!"he cries in Undercommon. "What in the nine hells is happening?! Wait, tell us later! Come here quick!"As he speaks you hear the first crack of massive amounts of wood splintering at the docks.
Khessa would be less prone than her duergar friend to promptly trust an unknown newcomer... but since Ebzer is running to him already, she is also inclined to follow. Does she see anything in particular 'there'? In the place the kuo-toa is inviting the party? There is something that could be seen as a mean of salvation?

Sarith is still fleeing in panic and races after Ebzer, almost falling over a couple of times as he desperately tries to put more distance between himself and the demon lord. Still keeping his calm, Traydark too follows swiftly but tries to gauge the intent of this helpful Kuo-Toa.
As far as you can tell, they seem pretty genuine but aren't carrying much with them, nor is there anyone else in the immediate vicinity. He shouts as you get closer,"Here, with me! Stand close!"
Khessa comes close and replies: "Ok, here we are. Now what? Mr Lemon-Demon there seems not to be in good mood... Would it not be better to go away as fast as possible?"

Sarith follows the others, quickly huddling up by the weirdly helpful kuo-toa, shaking with fear. Traydark is still fairly calm but more hesitant as he comes closer, watching every movement of the fishman to be ready for any false moves.
'Even Traydark is wary…' notes Khessa. '...and that's good, for I can't do much, with one person on each of my shoulders…'
"LeEEeemMMmooOGGggoOOoggGGgoOOoonnNNn!" the derro, mad with terror, is now hoarse from screaming.
'...Well, maybe if the newcomer makes a false move I can throw Buppido at him...' the blonde arcane warrior thinks 'If I throw him near his ear, I should have a pretty good chance of deafening him...'
(Katryl Perception roll, since never noticed one was asked for: 17)
Without much other options, Katryl maneuvers Eldeth towards this new unknown figure. Although she does try to estimate whether they could still make the gate even when the demon first reaches the city.
Once you all are close to the Kuo-toa, he mutters something quickly just as the first cracks of wood being splintered at the docks rings out, and in a flash you are all teleported away! When you look again you are standing somewhere else in the Underdark. Across from you is a new group of oddly assorted persons, and behind them is a small cave that is glowing faintly purple."Well! Did we all make it?"The kuo-toa asks and looks to join his group.
And gratz for escaping Sloopludoop and the Demogorgon...for now! Everyone levels up to level 3!!!

"Did we indeed?" Traydark mutters, looking around to see if everyone in the group made it, then looking over the other group of oddly assorted persons. "Our thanks for bringing us out of that...predicament. Now, where are we, and who are you?" Traydark says taking a step forward, gauging the unknowns for strengths and weaknesses.
Khessa sighs with relief and gently deposits Silas and Buppido on the ground, while she looks around curiously and immediately takes out her Tressym-Spellbook, in which she begins to write down, as long as her memories are still fresh, the details of the spell with which the kuo -toa managed to teleport everyone to safety. She certainly has no illusions to be already able to emulate such a prodigy... but she want for sure to write down as many details as possible regarding an arcane wonder of this magnitude! And she also wants to write down some details about Mr Lemon-Demon.
Hearing Traydark while he speaks with the kuo-toa, she tries, during her writing, to follow the conversation: to figure out who the mysterious savior is, why he happened to be there at that very moment and what this small cave that is glowing faintly purple is - and these assorted people.
In the meantime, luckily, Buppido recovers and, looking around as if he didn't quite realize how he ended up there, however boldly advances towards the blonde arcane warrior: "Hi, Khessa! Did you see that I managed to get you to safety? Ehm... by the way... Do you know where we are? You know, I was so busy getting you to safety that I didn't realize exactly where I was taking you... Oh look! Silas is here! And is waking up! I got to safety him too then!"
After she manages to convince Buppido to go and get Ebzer to thank him too (and therefore to temporarily get out of the way) and once the noble drow has finished talking to the kuo-toa, the tall adventuress approaches Traydark: "We did it this time also... Mr Lemon-Demon has been no more successful than the drow in keeping us with him!" her blue eyes stare with relief at the other's "You were great, you know?" she puts her hand on his shoulder. "Not only did you keep a cool head at the sight of Mr Lemon-Demon... which, as we learned the hard way, isn't for everyone!" now she feels like smiling at the thought of how upset Buppido was "I also saw how you looked around, how you checked that no one was left behind..." the tone of her voice betrays all her admiration and gratitude "You were really great" (is there anything else she wants to say, now, while she's looking at him without speaking?)
"I can't wait to train with you later!" she finally decides to tell him, with a smile and a wink.
Ebzer plops down on the ground in the very spot he teleported onto. He sits with a dejected look on his face. Fear, he thinks, Such fear. I haven't felt that way since I was a child. I've faced death at least a dozen times, but never had that icy fist of stark terror gripping my heart before. Am I done as a warrior? Will I be able to stand in battle again, or will I run away? What has happened to me?
Silas groggily shakes his head and awakens. He looks around to see that he is no longer at the sacrificial site. He tries remember what happened. He remembers freeing Hemeth and then a loud roar. He turned to look and...nothing...just him waking up here.
He gets up, looking for his companions first and then Hemeth.

Buppido immediately greets Silas, full of excitement: "Oh, you've finally woken up! How are you? It wasn't easy, getting you to safety... But there is nothing I wouldn't do for a friend!"
"You know I don't understand what's wrong with Ebzer?" the derro changes subject for a moment "I've just tried to talk to him too but he seems so despondent, so lost in his thoughts... You know, I saved him too, yet he didn't even thank me! Instead he should be happy, right? I mean, I'd be happy, if someone had me saved by that... by that... how was it? Ah, yes... Lemon-Goong-Goong - or something like that! But nope," he sighs "I was the one who had to save everyone else... I don't even know how I did it..."

"Well met! We are the Society of Brilliance! This spot seems much safer than where you all were, but I still wouldn't stay here too long, we aren't that far away."The kuo-toa paces slowly and gestures about with his hands. "We have been studying this strange purple mist and I was going to the town to see if anyone there knew anything about it yet, but found you all instead!"
