The other prisoners are generally in agreement with this plan of escaping though none of them seem particularly excited about Sloopludoop, but none of them argue against it either.
"If it's the closest, why not?" concedes Khessa "Among other things, maybe someone there will be able to give us indications on how to return to the world of the surface".
The blonde warrior, however, is perplexed by the lack of enthusiasm of many others for the destination: "Unless someone has some reason to advise against Sloopludoop. There is something wrong with that place?"
The noble drow chuckles softly at the naïvety of the blonde human. "Do you know of the kuo-toa?" He starts, smiling at Khessa. "With Shushaar here being a rare exception, they are known for their madness, even rivaling that of the derro, no offense Buppido, rather than their hospitality. Still, I believe I will be able to navigate that community better than the unforgiving tunnels of the underdark at least." He finishes with a wink.
"No Traydark," Khessa admits, "never met any Kuo-toa before Shuushar. Your knowledge of the Underdark is certainly more profound than mine. And if I could I would have preferred" she is keen to emphasize "definitely not having to deepen mine as well. Anyway, if you think to be safer that way, then, since nobody seems to be totally against it, let's be on our guard and head to Sloopludoop".
Khessa allows herself a last moment of rest, to regain some strength before attempting to escape. She doesn't even notice she's falling asleep, but at some point ...
...Dark shadows seem to move and reach out toward her and her companions as they all wander lost through endless mazes of tunnels. Oily tentacles slide to brush up against them, while a great buzzing and howling rises in the distance. Suppurating wounds burst open in clouds of spores or crawling masses of maggots or insects...
The blonde warrior wakes up breathing hard in a cold sweat. It was just a dream! But so creepy...
"This place has taken its toll on me" mumbles the tall adventurer, but she hurries to focus on something else. The struggle for freedom is about to start; she will certainly not waste time brooding over a stupid dream...
'Plus, in that nightmare we were not drowning in Sloopludoop, at least...' she jokes, thinking to herself.
As the dream comes to a close, Ebzer sits up in a panic, taking a moment to realize he is not in the grasp of dark tentacles. Oh, this can't be good. It must be an omen. Trusting the drow to free me is going to end in disaster. But what choice do I have?
The duergar dusts himself off and clambers to his feet, his rusty iron bar hidden in his sleeve, ready for quick use if needed.
Approching the next shift, Traydark would exit his trance in a state of uneasiness over the unusal dream he had. His dreams were often less than pleasant, but this one was more vivid than most. Time would tell if it was a simple nightmare or rather an dark omen of coming events. He focused on regaining his composure to have his best effort available as Jorlan soon would show his true intentions.
As the time approaches for your shift, there is some talk outside the cell, the sound of Jorlan to the guards, telling them something and they begin to move off from their post. A moment later there is a click on the cell door as the lock is undone. The cell door begins to creak open just a bit when a quiet drone sound begins to echo throughout the cavern. It gets louder and louder until there is an inhuman shriek, a bloodcurdling cry before alarm horns are sounded and there is the sound of a mighty crash somewhere else in the outpost. Jorlan curses before looking at you all in the cell,"Try the webs and then waterfall to get down!"And then he runs off into the darkness as shouts and screams continue to reverberate now in the otherwise unusually noise diffused cavern.
Those of you with darkvision can see out the cell at the panicked drow grabbing every available weapon as several large demons go flying around the outpost, swooping down in aerial battle with each other and sometimes taking swings at the dark elves. You can also see that the outpost across from you has been badly damaged by something, leaving just a shaky looking column holding on the bottom floor and the bridges connected to it.
The dream had Katryl awake abruptly, the images staying with her. 'Do they have some way to influence our dreams to thwart our plans? Or is it just an ill omen?' she wonders. She hardly has time to ponder this as Jorlan arrives as she's still pondering the images she saw while sleeping. And then the strange sounds and chaos as they are freed. 'Not a coincidence I'd think, but why is Jorlan upset?'
She doesn't think on it long. Immediately she pulls out the fork and makes one more attempt to unlock herself from this chain. (DEX Check: 18 Even as she works at it she is rising to her feet.
Khessa, when Jorlan, just like she had feared, simply unlocks the door... not thinking for a single moment to do the same with the chains, she is almost tempted to laugh in the face of those who had relied so heavily on the scarred drow.
She almost feels like she can read the thoughts behind some of the most astonished faces: 'So, we're still not unlocked from our chains then?' 'Not really getting this, does Jorlan expect us to break free of our chains somehow?'
"Well," the blonde warrior sighs instead, trying not to lose patience "nobody but Katryl (who, being a female, probably has an additional share of common sense) wanted to make even a half-hearted attempt to get free from the chains... because our trusty savior Jorlan would have helped us so much... So, here we are. Do you still have so much faith in him?" she raises an eyebrow ironically "Do you think he just went to the bathroom for a moment and then he will come back to free you? So do you plan to stay here waiting for him? Or will you finally start to trust me a little too and start trying to free yourself from these damned chains!? As Ebzer pointed out, we have a unique opportunity! The outpost is under attack! Whoever succeeds, free himself from the chains. Then we take advantage of the confusion and attack the stalactite room up front, where we can recover our things! With the guard's keys, we will free whoever was not able to do it by himself. Come on!"
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Since Katryl is working on her chains, Khessa tries to get her free completely: if Katryl has been successful with, let's say, the chains of her neck, Khessa tries to break (with her help) those of her wrists.
She also helps whoever tries to break his chains (OOC: giving advantage to the roll).
Silas says, "We can move well enough in these chains if we're careful, let's go get weapons and tools while the drow are distracted. Then we'll have something better to break our bonds than our bare hands" He moves to the door and looks outside.

There is a low murmur among the prisoners, muttering something about "weird fish people", though they do assent to trying it if you wish.

(When you all are ready to move ahead, let me know. RP out the dream if you wish or just know it happened.)

"Well, we's needed a distraction, an' here it is! On yer feets! Move! Time to go, now. Hup! Hup!" snaps the duergar.
