“Thank you Melinda, I’ll put this to use!  I can use the bolts for it too!”   Zin turns back to the mayor with a less than thrilled look, says “Is there anyone in the Guard that we should speak with to bring us up to speed on the current tactical situation?”

"I've been kept up to date on all situations. There are around three raids per day, sometimes at the same time on different points of the wall. It takes about 10 guards to stop an attack, and about three will be left dead or wounded after. We are down to fifty unwounded guardsmen. There have been all sorts of devils, ranging from imps to unknown larger flying devils."

‘‘Well what are we doing standing around for, lets go kill some devils.’’ Melinda heads off towords the wall

Avery approaches the group, overhearing the conversation. "Greetings and good day, did I hear they are recruiting to fight devils? I am presently unemployed and ready to serve."

“Yes 15 gold per pair of devil wings 100gold for outright stopping the attacks. Headed to the wall if you would care to join I’m from here and know my way around pretty well. Names Bellona, Bellona Black.

Bellona offers as a answer and greeting.

(Singing ) “Any devil that attempts evil here, will be met with evil ends.  
I’ve been waiting for this gig a long long time and it will, pay the bills… (he gives a wink to Dareau, like thanks for the line)

Pleased to meet you, hope you guessed my name.

(Not singing) ”I’m ready Bellona, following you, do you know where the guards are stationed so that we can join them and help them to repel the next attack?”

It's relatively easy to find your way to the barracks house, and there the captain  fthe guard greets you. He is a thin man that looks more suited to a library than a battlefield. As you watch, he reads a map, squints at it, then snaps and grabs a book as it flies through the air at him. He looks up as you approach.

"Hello there. Are you the new militia? How may I help you?"

Dareau walks closer. "Captain... We are: the Militia."

He kneels. "And we seek wisdom. Er. A path... Wait... A quest!"

 Avery moves up next to Melinda, stands with a serious, martial look at the captain.

"Well, its good to meet the lot of you, though I hoped there would be more. You seem capable enough, though. There are three ways you could help out. First, you can live your lives nd aid in combat when the walls are breached. You could take wall shifts yourselves. And third..." he leans towards you across his desk and lowers his voice. "Yesterday I had a few scouts come back. They said they found a few devils standing guard near a cave. I could direct you there, if you wish."

‘‘Well friends, who’s up for a raid?’ Melinda says with a strange look in her eyes

Dareau flourishes his rapier. "A raid on the devils' outpost sounds like just the thing we need!"

 Bellona gives a nod of approval.

“Sure, what could go wrong?” Zin replies with a smile.  He turns to look at the others, says “Ready to take some devil’s ears?” pulling out a sack from his backpack.  He turns back to the Captain.  “Which way to this cave?”

He grabs a map off of the bookshelf and spreads it out on the desk. ""You'll need to head north here, then turn west for a little while..." He gives you detailed instructions. It looks like about an hour trip. "Best of luck with this. Let me know if you find anything."

‘‘We’ll do our best! Alright everyone, lets go.’’ Melinda starts heading north.

Bellona double checks her gear and joins the group to go to the cave.
