How about a History Check?
History: 20
Sylvera, partially frustrated and partially desperate responds
"Tools?Yes of course, anything that could help me solve this..." she lets out a long breath. "Is Ley something that can be seen when it is entering the air? Will it appear as vapor? Or do you suspect that any Ley we find will appear as... that goop?" She makes a small gesture towards the 'elf's' hands, where Rick had applied the goo from the hallway.
She hesitates, unsure if asking this question is even worth it, "Do you know if Ley is something that can truly be restored? Or was it a finite resource? ...Is there really any hope of us restoring Ley... Magic, to this land? Or should we be searching for something else entirely?" If something else even exists. Still, she has to ask. She can't afford to leave any stone unturned. Otherwise she'll be searching until she turns to stone herself.
Staring down the webbed over hallway for a few more moments, Asimi looks back to where the other two would be and speaks up, "I'm going down this hallway, whatever made these webs might still be here," If nothing else the threat of it potentially emerging and coming after them when they had their backs turned was enough of a justification in her mind to handle it now.
Holding her weapon out, she would attempt to take full advantage of her polearm's reach. Maintaining as much distance as she could, Asimi began trying to cut the webbing away.
Rick wanders over to the gap in the force wall and tries holding up various objects to see if they can get cut through since he hasn't a clue what the elves are talking about. He will be working his way up to stone and, if possible, metal he finds around.
"Unless you're smaller than them and they feel a need to defend themselves...", he finishes weakly. "Hey spiders, we don't want trouble, just wanting to look through the area... sorry about the web.", he says softly.

Oren stays in the dining hall, nervously glancing between the two parties as best as he can, and simply waiting for the first one that is going to start screaming, which is usually what happens when the party gets split. He just gets to watch as the disgusting pile of goop in the midst of the room finally seems to have stopped moving in full- Partially seeming to shrink away to nothing, with the flesh showing signs of slowly turning to stone.
Sylvera thinks for a moment to Ghurna. There are plenty of libraries, plenty of older structures throughout the root structures and all that... But she's never found any reference to "Ley". Not even looking into things presumed to be old fiction.
...To the point that if it was apparently something so well known here at a mere outpost, that seems rather suspicious, one way or another. To the next questions it seems the elf can at least provide some answers, for once.
"Ley cannot be seen when in the air, at least by normal means. The solid form is mostly as you have seen. It does slowly dissolve over time if left exposed. Even in the pipes, it will eventually run out. Not to mention putting up the barrier is probably wasting a lot."
The elf idly glances in the direction of Rick, who has moved back to the malfunctioning barrier, putting in things to see if they'd get cut. He discovers there's certainly a level of "give", as it seems to be held back at least somewhat when using a rock... Though eventually it still cuts through. "Olokas" offers another mild shrug as he continues.
"Can't really say anything about restoring it. This vessel would have thought it impossible for such a thing to even be done in the first place. As far as this vessel believed, the Ley was endless. It was in plentiful supply at the moment he turned to stone. And just now, when you activated the extractor, plenty was retrieved."
"...Too much even, perhaps, given how it seemed the setup got damaged. Though it could be age. This vessel would be offended with how overdue the entire setup must be on maintenance."
Following this, the elf signals for Sylvera to follow as he heads back inside, taking a left toward the "theater" room first, before heading toward the back, going to grab whatever these "tools" must be.

Back in the basement, Asimi wastes little time to slash at the web, while Breldo meekly states a spider shouldn't be a problem... Although spiders usually don't make a web this big. To no surprise, an angry hiss fills the corridor when Asimi's strike cleaves the web, and red eyes come crawling around a pipe as an enormous spider comes into view, something black seen dripping from it's legs and fangs. But for whatever reason, after taking note of the group, retreats slightly around the pipe again, retreating out of vision.
There's a soft "click" from beyond the pipe, as if mandibles click together in what could be considered an affirmation..? While it is doubtful it can actually understand what is being said, maybe it can understand the general tone of voice and posture?
Lowering her halberd, Asimi looked at Breldo for a moment before glancing back down the hallway. Following his more gentle lead, she kept her steps as unthreatening as possible as she moved forward.
"Let's find what we can and get out of this thing's way," She said softly. Asimi would try to give it as much space as was feasible while moving, likewise, she'd try to take in as much information as she could in as brief a time as could be managed. The faster they could get this over with one way or another the better.
(I'm assuming Rick is going to follow Asimi and Olokas? In each case...)
Olokas eventually leads whoever follows to what once clearly a store room of some kind, and one doesn't need to understand Elvish to know he laments how it seems that someone has robbed the entire place blind, though it doesn't seem to deter him completely. Moving to what at first seems a piece of wall like any other, the elvish word for "Open" is spoken- And barely functioning mechanism after millennia of disuse, still manages to slide open to reveal a hidden compartment. Soon he's pulling out some things stowed away within the small space, giving explanations for the various objects; some kind of handheld tool with a gauge near the top, a stick with a button on one end, and three at first glance ordinary looking glass bottles. Olokas explains them, though whether someone can understand is a different matter.
"It seems all this is here still at least, and the most important thing I wanted to show you. This here," he says, showing off the handheld tool. "A ley counter. It's supposed to pointing toward the middle when magic is normal, but as you can see it is at... Zero. But,"
Be it demonstration, or simply wanting to make sure it still works, he points it toward the stick. There's a faint "clicking" noise as the dial moves up just the slightest bit.
"There, yes. It was mostly used to look for leaks. But you might be able to use it just to trace anything down in general."
"Might as well take the stick as well if you want. I expect it won't work with no magic in the air. It's just used for cleaning."
"And these bottles... They're ley-insulated. Ley should not disappear as quickly within it. You could take some of it with you if you want. At worst, while it's not really a healing potion, you might be able to use it in a pinch to save someone's life."
(While magic items are not identified by default, because in this case you all have someone to explain what they are, item descriptions)
Ley-Counter Can be used to detect the level of ambient magic around oneself, as well as vague magic levels of surrounding items.
Rod of cleansing An action can be used to toggle the button, from which point the rod can magically clean an area of up to one cubic foot per round.
Ley-sealed bottle A bottle able to store ley for a longer duration.

Downstairs, the group progresses with the spider seemingly pacified... Though the kind of weird things that are down here probably makes them wonder if they should have even bothered.
Before the group rounds the corner, they might perhaps make a brief note of the fact that one of the major leaks that had been there before seems gone. Only a few dried stains remain. In hindsight, around the spot where that web was...
But that leaves one major spill around the machine where this mess all started, and there they find the matter entirely different as they round the corner... Though seemingly not immediately a danger, merely disgusting.
Here, the goop has turned into some meld of flesh as well; though unlike the blob, it has spread itself out more over the room, covering floor and walls in a thin web of malformed flesh. Fusing and trying to dig into the machine that started it all. And now, already, seemingly expired, dead, some of the edges of this malformed flesh turning to stone. The only thing that still seems to be alive is some kind of sac, softly glowing, nestled in the midst of it against the machine.
Nuria quickly scurries past the spider once Oren calms it down. When the group approaches the fleshy goop, she shivers. It looks dead, but is it really? She blinks at the softly glowing sac. "W-what is that?"She points at it. Part of her just wants to pull out an arrow and shoot it, but she can't help but be curious about it.
"These will definitely be useful. Mostly. The cleaning stick maybe not so much."

Sylvera eagerly takes the tools, swiping them as fast as she can as she doesn't really trust Rick to use them properly... or perhaps he'll misplace them, who knows. She eyes the tabaxi, making sure to at least take the ley counter, as that seems the most promising (though she will snatch up at least some of the bottles assuming Rick doesn't get there first).
"Thank you," she says in elvish. "The stick... is it used for household cleaning, or for cleaning Ley?"She asks tentatively, wondering if it could have helped them against the goo monster.
She begrudgingly will allow Khond to take some of the equipment, as it would be rather cumbersome for her to try taking it all.
