Sylvera shoots Pallen a shocked, almost offended, glance when he comments on the painting. However she doesn't say anything, instead simply gritting her teeth and turning her attention back to the painting and her surroundings.

Oren gives the painting only one quick look and then dismisses it for now. Instead, he is more concerned about the possible something that is in the building with them. With warhammer in hand he moves further in and moves to whatever door inside the room is closest to him. He moves to the side of it, and then just craning his head past the door frame, looks into the next room.

While most people never bothered to learn much about them, everyone (except Breldo) has at least heard the name before. When they talk about the ancient golden days, it's impossible to not mention him.
Though only the Tabaxi recalls some ravings of a half-drunk man he once conversed with. It seems that at the height of the Ghurnan empire, they basically ruled the entire world. At the very least, they held holdings likely much like this one on every capital, and they supposedly acted as stewards to the many other races. It is evident that near the peak of this golden age, when the Wasting hit the elven kingdom suffered massive loss of capita, and in turn their empire shrank to a fraction of its former self, and dragged the whole world with it into the dark ages. There are a lot of incredible stories about the man in question, though it is self-evident that these were made to hype up his standing rather than actual factual events of what happened.
Oren in the meantime completely ignores the painting, opting instead to make sure that what or whoever was there gets sussed out. The entranceway has two exits, and he opts to check the right one. The macabre feeling of this place only drastically increases with what he sees: the room itself seems to be a dining hall firstly, many long now dilapidated tables set up, which by itself is fine. If the room were not also filled with what may be a hundred, if not more, of these elven statues, be it seated, or dancing.
But no sign of life or movement. There seems to be a stairwell going up and down if he goes straight, and a set of grand doors on the far side of the room.
Although whatever any of the group was doing likely gets dropped for a moment as there is a sudden rumbling, and then a clanking, coming from somewhere... Underneath? Before, above them, stones very much like those "useless" lanterns they had seen on the road here, suddenly to no longer be so useless, as the slightly dreary inside suddenly become well lit. The rooms to the left and right also respectively brightening up, as the otherwise ordinary structures light up one by one.
And then, before the group can even really begin to process what just happened, they get the immediate follow-up punch as music starts to play from... Somewhere.
"...What the actual-"
"I- I think there was an organ in the room to the left?" Pallen speaks, uncertain.
Oren looks up in marvel at the rooms lighting up. He then shivers a bit when the music starts. This all, along with the hundred statues of elves he sees in the dining room is creeping him out. “Elf statues…lots of them in this room” he states clearly since they are no longer apparently even trying to be quiet. He works on ignoring the music tho, and just continues watching into the dining watching for any movement of anyone hiding among the many statues.
Nuria immediately freezes at the sound of the music. Fear shows plainly on her face, and she quivers when the lanterns start to float. Though clearly a different tune, music playing when it's not supposed to, noises from below....it brings back the memory of what transpired on that ship....and the dream that followed. Once the others start to continue, she only follows out of fear of being left alone and even so it takes visual effort for her to force herself to move on. As she walks, she stays close to Breldo and she grips her bow tighter.
Both Rick and Nuria start listening intently when the music starts playing, and paradoxically, come to the same conclusion: that it's everywhere around them. Although Rick figures out that it's more like it's coming from several points, that give the illusion of being around them? Something in... The wall? But what could be in the wall that makes music?
Oren similarly keeps a lookout, but detects no change in the room, at least for now.
Breldo, while the place has at least some sunlight still filtering in through windows, doesn't want to take any chances, and lights a torch. Rick in the meantime asks just how well Pallen even knows this place.
"I... It's been a while since I last came here, but I've at least explored the grounds in full once. Right is some kind of dining room, you have kitchens behind that, it leads to other various rooms beyond that. Left, I think is some kind of performance hall, or something? There's bunks higher up, weird mechanical stuff in the basement..."
"Rick thinks sound is coming from everywhere, but Rick knows it started when Rick heard a sound from the basement. Rick will check the basement. Boss Pallen show Rick the way?"
Pallen indicates he thinks all stairwells go down, and there's one both to the left and the right.
(Some map info:)
Made a quick sketch to give a better idea of the entrance hall. Bottom is where you came in, which then has openings to the left and right. The right hall has already been peeked to reveal the dining room, the left hall you can see some seating arrangements but no one has taken it in full yet. Both left and right have a stairway at the other side of the room straight across this entrance.

Rick squints up at the painting,
"Rick doubts Adameus rode a tiger into a city. Rick has met tigers, Rick knows better."
Rick's ear cocks to the side as the music starts, towards where the music seems to be coming from, while still looking at the picture.
He then looks over to Pallen,
"Rick wonders now, how well does Boss Pallen know the layout of this place?"
(Perception check from Rick?)

Breldo grimaces, and not wanting to put his ability to see entirely on the strange lanterns, gets out his own and lights it.
