"Quiet," Athene says in a tone that's firm but not chastising. She's already getting uncomfortable with the amount of noise this meeting had generated. She was used to going days without saying a word on her missions. 'Do all outsiders talk this much?' she thinks to herself. She stopped in a place where her footing would be sure and craned her neck to look for the source of the sound.
Eylf you press on, ignoring the mold for now. From your vantage point now you can see that the way ahead is fairly clear (other than a tree that partially sits on the clear path, denoted by a green circle) and curves in the direction you want to go, which is to your left (as indicated by the arrow). There is a 5-6 foot wide patch of the mold to your direct left, and the start of a fallen tree laying across it. You could theoretically take this more direct route if you trust your perception score of a 6 and your ability to stay on your feet as you cross the log. But certainly, the path straight ahead seems to be safest, having rolled a 6 anyway.
If you decide to try the log I think your strength assumes you can make the standing jump once you move up a bit but you will definitely need to roll an acrobatics check to stick the landing. If you decide to go up ahead and bypass the log,. no need for a roll other than a new perception check to inform what you see once you get there. Your new map is here. The blue represents the shoreline--you have come quite close to the water in your meandering.
*** Atheneyour path is a little more straightforward. You are almost exactly at the middle point from the sound so all you need to do is aim down as the bird flies and you will get it to it. Unfortunately your keen eyes show that "down" is not possible--the clear bit veers slightly to your right (away from the water) before seeming to straighten out again. That said, you have a tree blocking your direct view--it too sits in the mold so if you wanted to interact with it you would need to roll accordingly. But with your 23 I will confirm that there appears to be a fair bit of clean earth behind it.
Your choices are to veer slightly out of the way right on clean path, or to take the more direct route down by somehow navigating the tree. If you choose the former, simply roll a perception check once you get where you're going so I can tell you what you're dealing with. If you choose the tree, tell me what you are doing and we can determine which rolls to leverage.
Both: as you get closer to the sound, the trees are getting thicker and denser so you will now start running into them more regularly. I will include them in your view from now on, and failing that, will describe them.

Athene mentally repeated the mantra of the Vaelahryn, drilled into her time and time again by Strigia. 'Silence, Patience, Awareness.' The three virtues of the hunter. She turned down the sure path. So long as there was no immediate danger, taking risks would be foolish.
As she moved, she gestured to the stranger safe places for her to place her feet. Perception: 17
Eylf your day is getting more and more interesting. You take a few steps in the direction of the log, and after a deep breath, perform another standing jump--this time, unassisted by magic. And while you are able to easily make it onto the log, you were kind of expecting it to roll a little with your weight and when it didn't (likely because the underside of it has been eaten and is no longer quite as round as it used to be), you land a little too softly and awkwardly and end up falling forward a little bit so you are effectively on your hands and knees. The good news is that no mold has yet penetrated the top portion of the log, so your hands are clean. But the bad news is you come face to face with an adder who is startled by you and bares its bloody-looking, poisonous teeth at you. Pease roll initiative.
Updated map is here--the sound is directly to your left, but you are now dealing with more mold, and more trees. Now that you are in combat with a poisonous snake let me know what you want to do and we can determine which rolls are required.
Atheneyou can't help with this fight as your line of sight is impeded by trees and you still can't really even see the dragonborn, but I'd like for you to roll initiative as well so we can determine which order things happen in.
In the meantime though let's resolve your move. The sound is coming from where the arrow is pointing but again you are dealing with little streams of the mold so you can take a direct, more dangerous route by going down and jumping over the mold, or a more circuitous route by continuing to your right. The path veers sharply again, that much is plain, but it starts to get harder to track as there are now trees minimizing your view.

Athene, unaware of the danger Eylf is in, continues slowly. She decides to shorten her route by leaping over the rivulet of mold to the safe peninsula beyond. OOC, one spec to the right and leaping down
Eylf this is a great use of prestidigation but unfortunately the adder, its tail and underbelly slowly being consumed by the mold, is confused and angry and is more interested in attacking than fleeing.
Is this your whole turn?

The adder is going to attempt to bite you. Since this is our first time in combat I'll let you know that sometimes I roll in the post, sometimes I roll through the combat tracker in D&D beyond--really depends on the situation. This time around I'll roll here but what that means is I need to post twice: once for the roll and once for the outcome of the roll.
Here is the roll: 9
Essentially Eylf the snake is going to snap a quick reactionary bite in your direction, probably aiming for your hand/arms which are closest to it.

The attack is a miss and actually hurt it way more than it was going to hurt you. Eylf.
Athenemeanwhile you gracefully and carefully continue to pick your way down, leaping over a thin ribbon of blight and into a somewhat tight little square of clean ground. There is a tree to your left, rotting from its roots but looking stable enough. You will need to leap again to get over another ribbon of blight and onto clean earth--the sound is directly ahead of you, something like 15 or 20 feet away. The trees are getting more dense but from where you are, you can see what looks to be a clear path down.

She let the taut feeling build up at the back of her throat then vomited powerful acid onto the tiny creature.
