"Yeh... That's what i meant, i might be able to tell you these things" He says with a slight grin to the Dragonborn calling him out in front of a crowd
History check to see if i know anything about the history or anything else about this tome- 10
And then a contested check to swing the book away from Mordekai- Acrobatics- 5
"ey ey ey tiefling... This is a very old book, you wouldn't wanna break it now would you... ****in' fool"
If successful he'll hold the book out and allow Iefyr to put his hand upon it
"Right, um, alrighty then--" Ezid panickingly scatters his vision between the male teifling and the male human, worried sick for the integrity of the tome. Ezid took a step closer towards the two, fighting over the tome, "Stop that stop that! You'll damage it!" He exclaimed, watching the two try to take the tome from each other.
Ezid presents the book to the group hoping someone can glean some information on the history and origin of it. As the group carefully passes around the book inspecting it, nobody seems to be able to share any more information than Ezid had before.
With this matter causing more intrigue than answers, the group gets ready to head north towards Wayfield, about an 8 day travel away. The town of Vallerond getting back to normal as most of the citizens go back to their day. Many travelers deciding whether to stay or leave.
Walking for days was easy for Mordekai. He could focus and listen to the sounds of nature, of far off creatures, of an approaching or passing cart or carriage if he was so lucky. But he can't do the same with... well, they are not followers, but they are still close to him and having idle chitchat. He took in a breath and moved toward Carmen, the Tiefling who had caught his interest. Hello again, Lady of Shadows. I apologize that previous conversation in tavern was cut short. Was curious on if you were truly related in family line to Da?
As the party gets ready, Cozubia asks, "Does everyone have enough food for the journey? And also, does anyone know the way? Will it be close to the ruins?"
"I could use a little more as well. Cozubia, right?' Carmen addresses the dragonborn. "Did I hear you have been in town for awhile? Do you think there is anyone else we need to speak to before we head out?
Having been ignored, Mordekai merely resigns in the fact that what he had thought to have been a pleasant day was instead a shit one. I enjoy gambles with two outcomes. He grumbles to himself, knowing that he was going to not sleep well when the night would eventually come. I have rations for ten... nine days, he notes, once more a glare toward Lex being given. I make do with what I have and I will not burden others.
It is a bit of a detour off the road, to the ruins. We could check out the ruins first, and I am powerfully curious about them, but I think we ought to set an agreement for bounties or something. That way, we might get paid twice: Once by the field masters, and once by goblins or bandits who leave us their possessions upon their deaths."

"Sorry, mind was elsewhere," Carmen turned to the blue tiefling when she realized she hadn't answered yet."I don't think so, but I don't really know."
"I like that, Lady of the Shadows...my new moniker."

Doesn't matter. Lineage of previous family was ****ed up any way. Just found choice of calling me cousin as curious. Is kind of decent feeling to see another of similar kind out to do what they believe is right. Mordekai takes in a breath to ease his nerves. We handle problem in Wayfield, and if still others are interested, we can go to Southern Timber Forest where goblins are. Demons there, rumor is supposed; perhaps cause of problems for goblins. He mentions the last two sentences aloud, just enough for Lex to hear.
"I could use a little more as well. Cozubia, right?' Carmen addresses the dragonborn. "Did I hear you have been in town for awhile? Do you think there is anyone else we need to speak to before we head out?
"Yes, Lady Carmen. Cozubia. Been here for a couple weeks. Cozubia is waiting for someone. In the meantime, doing work to help out. Mostly just talking to Lady Tina at the tavern or cutting wood for Master Oloran and his brother. Sadly, Cozubia has not heard much of note while waiting. Couldn't hurt to ask them though." Cozubia takes a moment to gather his thoughts. Before we set out, Cozubia needs to stop by the Tavern to give Lady Tina a message. After that, we can leave when everyone is ready."
"Where I come from it's not unusual to call folks 'cousin,' especially if they have something in common," Carmen says to the other tiefling. "I'm not in hurry to be anywhere, so I might be interested in checking out this winged creature...and these ruins, too. Though I agree with the elf, that we may want secure a contract first."
Turning to Cozubia, she says, "I'm sure you have time to leave a message. I'm ready when everyone else is."
Doesn’t matter to me the distance. Just want to get things done. Also, really surprised you care about issue in forest now, no money reward is on it and would be helping little ones that you think are clear threat to you. Mordekai continues his sarcastic tone. I mean, what is demon hunter doing if he is not asking “Where are demons? I know how to kill demons, costs normally 200 coin of gold, but holding special, 2 for 1, 100 gold for each demon. I’m so cool.”
Having completely forgotten about his reason for being in Vallerond due to all the excitement, Iefyr looks like he suddenly remembers something at hearing Cozubia. "Oh yeah! I should probably leave a message with Tina too. I don't know that we'll be able to find a contract for the beast though. I'm really the only one who's seen it. But if we kill it, maybe we could sell its corpse!"
Lex hands back the book to Ezid and says "Yeh... It probly nothin', just a cool book mate" to which he hears everyone talking and Mordeikai mention Demon's and turns quickly towards him and says to everyone "Wait, what? We heard nothin' of Demons, where'd you get that information..." Staring directly at mordeikai and then to the rest of the group "Wait wait wait... i thought these bandits that were annoyin' this town were actually.. Ya know... In this ****in' town... Not 8 days away" He says confused with his eyebrow raised.
Ezid took his tome back swiftly from the Human male, holding it underneath his arm protectively, "Well, I can assure you there's more to it that being a 'cool book', but thank you for your insight". Ezid packed the tome into his backpack and followed along with the group towards their destination. He took out his blue lute from off of his back, and began to play a soft, simple melody, Ezid had a huge smile across his face as soon as he began playing, almost as if his ability to perform with this instrument lifted all signs of his previous anxiousness, bringing him to a very calm and happy state of mind. Ezid tagged along with the group around the town as they made their final stops before they all departed to the north.
The group went around to the local shops buying whatever provisions they felt were necessary. The group then headed back to the Dragon's Respite to finish any more business.
