I want to do an insight check of Lord Brackus. Something about that seems off to me. Like they were real quick to get out of there with Warrel. I also want to cast detect evil and good on the area of the guards, Warrel and Lord Brackus before they leave.
Looking at the two guards leading Warrel away you can't quite put your finger on it, but something seems odd about their uniforms. You're not entirely certain whether those are city guards or not. As Usoara grants you awareness within a 30 foot radius around you, there does not seem to be any sign of elementals, fey, fiend, or undead near you. There is a clear glow from the basilica however, that you recognize as consecrated ground.
Quill watches them go. He can't quite hide a fascinated expression. He'd heard of doppelgangers, sure, but never seen one before, and learning that Warrel had apparently thought he was a human before turning 13 suggests something very odd about the origin of the shapechangers.

I want to follow the guards and Brackus from a safe distance as they leave. Trying to stay out of sight by ducking into alley ways and behind tents and such.
I still have little idea about what happened. But I am sad about Warrel. He seemed sincere there at the end. I decide to visit him in jail. Then I say, "In answer to your question, Friar, I would love to go with you."

At first, the four men all move towards the south end of the market, but after passing down a few streets and out of sight of the others, the group stops at a signal from Lord Brackus. You can see them from across the street, but can't quite make out what they are saying. After a few words from Brackus, the two guards release the manacles on Warrel. Then they follow behind as Warrel and Brackus walk side by side, talking quietly together. Eventually they stop outside of an elegant old mansion with a roundabout cobbled drive in front and a large wrought iron fence stretching around the property. The two guards stand at attention until the other two men go inside and then they take up positions near the front gate.

Im assuming this is Lord Brackus’ residence? After i get the info I needed, I run back to the basilica. I’ll go to my bed and pack the bag, after an arcana check, and quill in my footlocker. If Esvaris shares his info, I get my equipment ready for tomorrow’s journey.
Arcana: 17
edit: I decide after my check to Keep the bag with me.
Esvaris: The newly minted novices are recovering well, though shaken from the experience. Safara is taking them out of the atrium as you are entering. She tells you that the young women, Novice Bella and Novice Donna, and she herself, had never really liked Warrel. He seemed like he was always expecting the worst in every situation.
While you are talking to the three, you overhear someone else in the atrium saying they found a piece of bat fur and some coal under the table where the Dawnlord and his father and brother were sitting and they don't know if they should throw it out or give it to one of them.
Everyone: The next morning, just after a rather somber dawn ceremony in the basilica, which was led by Brother Annan rather than Dawnlord Menges, all of you are gathered in the rectory and Friar Bernard is explaining that the trip to the Broken Sun temple, which is quite small, will take half a day to travel there. Anyone joining him will spend one night at the temple and then make the return trip to Lichfield basilica just after noon meal, arriving home late tomorrow evening. "The Broken Sun is a piece of our history, it being built at around the same time as our basilica. The murals and frescoes tell the history of our faith and the founding of the church." He frowns. "There is no cleric currently in residence there, just a simple caretaker. It's sad how many of our temples we no longer can afford to keep open. I find the people's lack of faith... disturbing." He waits to see who will be accompanying him.
(anyone not going can state where they will be working today)
After the ceremony, I tell Friar Bernard I will assist him in the journey to the Broken Sun temple. But first I need return to my sleeping quarters and pack my items. I sit on the edge of my bed and prepare a few different spells for the journey. I will retrieve the bag of holding and fill it with essentials. A few days rations, weapons and adventuring gear. I put on my leather armor and check the placement of my daggers at my waist. My thieves tools also strapped to my belt. I get on my knees beside my bed and pray to Usoara. I go to my footlocker making sure everything else I’m leaving behind, including my clockwork dragon, is organized. I lock up my foot locker and head off to try to find Esvaris, if he’s not in the barracks with me already. I want to tell him about what I saw after the guards had taken Warrel away from the basilica. After that I will join Friar Bernard where ever he set up the meeting point for the group that’s leaving.
And as a side note, if we pass the building where Brackus went in to, I’ll as Friar Bernard about the building.
Quill makes his bed, conflicted. On the one hand, he would very much like to learn (even) more about the history of the faith, but he worries that something will happen while he's gone.
Maybe it will be good to be gone, then,he thinks. Having decided to go, Quill packs up his items, though he leaves his mace behind. He asks Usoara to protect their travel, then heads out to meet the others. He's on his way there when he remembers that scrap of paper. He checks to make sure he still has it, then starts running, hoping to find Esvaris and Korlan before reaching the meeting point.
I too will go to the dormitory. I will thank the goddess for the healing powers she granted me to save those two girls. I also pray for Tristan's soul, and for Dawnlord Menges' sister. As I drift off into my trance I wonder, if Warren (I still think his name is Warren) tried to kill those two girls, might he have killed Tristan?
In the morning, I wake, dress, prepare some spells, and go to meet the Friar. When I see my friends in the morning, I recall the bat fir and coal. That kind of sounds like spell components because it's a random pair of slightly mysterious materials. I will ask my friends if they know any spells that require those components.
”bat fur and coal seems like a very strange combination. I‘m trying to recall if I have read anything about such items as being spell components. I pray to Usoara for her help to solve such a mystery.” I will cast guidance on myself prior to an arcana check. 4

"How remarkable," Quill remarks to those present.
And that's all I have to say about that.
"Oui, who would have guessed such a thing would have happened. I pity him somewhat, a hate like that tends to begin as a hate of self." She murmured.

As you investigate the bag a bit further and study it, you realize that this is a Bag of Holding.
Esvaris: Friar Bernard nodded in response to you, as he was heading back to the basilica.

"So, does anyone else want to go with Friar Bernard to visit another temple tomorrow?" I ask my friends who are not sneaking off right now.

You recall that bat fur is used both in Arcane Eye andDarkness spells, but that coal is only used in the latter.
