Looks like no one is going to engage any further. The wounded pirate one gets up and limps towards the ship where a row boat collects him under the protection of the guns.

What do you do now. It's mid day. The inn is smoking as if there is a small fire that might spread.
"Ben, I'm glad you are safe... I wasn't expecting that ship to start firing on us... well... to be more specific... me."
Aquila looks over her coveralls, now covered w soot and soil from the explosion created by the cannon ball. She mutters some strange words under her breath and takes a half a minute to make sweeping gestures over her body. (Prestidgitation) As she does so the grime dissapears, and the vibrant paint splattered purple is restored to its original hue.
"We should see if we can be of any assistance at the Inn... I'm sure they were less able to defend themselves than we were..."
Marley takes the daggers and the gold, along with the note which he shows to the others. "I wonder if they were looking for this at the inn..."
Following Sam and Maz to the inn, he suggests letting whoever might be on the other side of the door know the pirates are gone and that the party is here to help. If no key is easily findable will try to pick the lock with his Thieves Tools.
Aquila looks Maz in the eye, and reaches out with her MInd Link ability to Maz...

You can speak telepathically to any creature you can see within 40 ft. of you. You don’t need to share a language with the creature for it to understand, but the creature must be able to understand at least one language.

Aquila walks up to the door and removes a copper piece from one of the many hidden pockets sewn into her coveralls. She holds it up before her concentrating deeply and casts DETECT THOUGHTS, reaching out to search the minds of any inhabitants within the room. She remains in concentration for one full minute, until she has detected and read the thoughts of as many creatures as possible behind the locked door who are within 30" of her.
You can also use this spell to detect the presence of thinking creatures you can’t see. When you cast the spell or as your action during the duration, you can search for thoughts within 30 feet of you. The spell can penetrate barriers, but 2 feet of rock, 2 inches of any metal other than lead, or a thin sheet of lead blocks you. You can’t detect a creature with an Intelligence of 3 or lower or one that doesn’t speak any language.
Once you detect the presence of a creature in this way, you can read its thoughts for the rest of the duration as described above, even if you can’t see it, but it must still be within range.

While Sam works on opening the door... Aquila uses MINOR IMAGE to project a voice into the room, where the 2 individuals are hiding. She crafts the voice to have a calming and reassuring tone.
"We have run off the Pirates, after killing several of their party. They have lit the Inn on fire, and you are in grave danger.... we are here to aid you. Do not be afraid..."
Marley curses under his breath, then tries to hide his embarrassment that he wasn't able to pick the lock. He puts his tools away and steps aside to let Sam have a go at the door, hoping the folks on the other side will recognize the party is here to help.
Aquila reaches out with her MINDLINK to the man with the crossbow... "Hold your fire, you stupid old man, we are here to help.... you have us to thank that it is not the slavers at this door but us.... We slew several of their number and they turned tail and ran. We are here to assist you!"
Marley ducks out of view to the side of the doorway when he sees the crossbow bolt fly past Sam's head and the man loading up another one. He takes a deep breath and draws his sword, preparing himself to dash in and attempt to disarm the man if needed.
The older man drops his cross bow and grabs his head.
"Ok ok I give up just don't kill my daughter"
The girl hearing Marley's words walks over to her father.
"I think it's safe dad they don't look like pirates."
She turns to y'all.
"Thank you for saving up"
The two leave the cellar and assess the damage.
Of the 10 people at the inn only these 2 are alive. And almost everything of value is gone.
Girl: "Think you again. We don't have much anymore to give you in thinks but these potions. Their yours if you will have them and some food and ale if your hungry of course."
she olds out 2 potions of healing and a philter of love.
Marley thanks the girl and accepts the potions, handing one of the healing potions to Aquila. He will gladly also have some food if it seems easy for them to prepare. "Sorry we couldn't stop them sooner..." he says regretfully as he hangs his head, then shows the old man and girl the note he found on the pirate. "I think they may have been looking for this..."
