"You are going to have to explain that a little more, my friend. I'm not sure if I followed you, someone bumped into someone in the street? That can't be why you mean, wait, are you saying something possessed a person in the street?" Darak's hand instinctively goes to the Holy symbol at his throat. “This is a dark thing, elf, are you sure?"
"Very," Tadriel seems to be calming down a bit now, "I don't know if it's possession or inhabitation, but it was very distinctive."

As Krimple apologizes to the man, he is glared down upon.
"Shove off, Gnome. I'm busy. I've got things to do."
The man says, as he dismisses Krimple and turns angrily back to the residential district of the town and heads off, brushing his clothes with his large hands as he tries to dust off any loose ink. It didn't help. As he disappears into the crowd, you're left standing in front of the Inn.
"That could have been worse, persuading someone is not easy. I better take a rest and resume going to the Celin Trading Company's guild establishment tomorrow. I should also buy a bottle of ink to replace the one I splashed on him."
The gnome tries to compose himself of the things that transpired earlier as he walks inside the inn. He looks around and sees Tadriel, Flaysteir, and Darak sitting at a table. He then sits at the same table.
"So, anything you feel weird with your body, my good friend dwarf?
You may not realize it but most of the towns people was unknowingly paralyzed by magic, including you, for a few moments.
This was not something that happens everyday. I'll talk more about the details after eating and securing a room as this day was exhausting."
The gnome calls a nearby waitress and orders the cook's recomendations for dinner. He'll also asks for any rooms available for the night.
Essy returns to the full table cheerfully holding the drinks for everyone. She sets each one down in front of you and smiles,
"When you're ready to call it a night, just snuff the flame of the candle out and I'll come over to assist ye."
As she finishes handing out drinks and taking orders, she takes a small step back and places her hands gently on her hips.
"Do you lot need lodging for tonight as well? The Iron Bull has some rooms available upstairs if you'd be interested. Nothin' too fancy, but it'll get ye by."
Darak sits in an incredulous silence the whole time Essy spends back at the table, he sees his drink but can barely bring himself to drink it.
"So you are telling me I was frozen as was almost everyone else but you weren't and you saw it happening, and you say you saw people possessing other people and other folk just disappearing."
He looks about, obviously concerned.
"What in the hells is going on? By Moradin's beard the power required to freeze time for a whole group is.. Well it would require a god or some tye of avatar surely.."
"It was more likely a mass hypnotism that swept the town from what I saw. I also heard whispers spoken with abyssal as the people look upward to the sky during the event."
Detectice Krimple drinks water to wet his throat and continues on.
"Three figures walked freely afterwards and one of them 'entered' a large human. The other two went outside of town towards the North gate and then minutes had passed when people started to return back to what they were doing. "
The gnome munches the food on his plate.
"That's more or less what happened from what I saw."
After finishing his dinner, he asks the group.
"So, did you guys find anything worthwhile to do? Leucis invited me to join his company as a deliverer. It has lots of perks as you do more of their jobs and your rank goes higher.
If you guys don't have anything to do and just wants to go out of town, we can get a job there. Otherwise, let me know if you have plans that I can join."
"I still have questions but they can probably wait now, I'm not sure I'll want to hear the answers anyway." Darak checks to make sure he really has finished his ale and then says "Tadriel met some people who have lost their brother who was searching for treasure, the woman who served us told me that the rumours of buried treasure in the woods northwest of the town get quite a lot of attention." Looking at Tadriel for confirmation he finishes by saying "There was also talk of us working to rid the town of criminals, not sure bout the details though, the elf can explain better I'm sure. Either way there seem to be things we can do here before we think about moving on."
"A good point, well made, friend. It would be good to know more about you all, why you are where you are. My tale is simple enough, the temple where I learned to fight and to do so in the name of Moradin does not require priests who cannot respect their elders and so I am travelling to redeem myself. To learn about the world and myself and to return in glory with a trophy or two celebrating our heritage." He pauses and then adds “In terms of the next job if there is a chance to find treasure and help somebody in trouble then a trip to the woods sounds ike the best option, but mine is only one voice, I'd like to know what you all think and to hear more about you as well".
Detective Krimpledimple closes his face towards the group as he explains his goals.
"As for me, I was investigating a group of foreign mobsters, the ones the makes organized crimes happen. I snuck inside one of their shipments that was about to be delivered to them and it lead me here at Runewarren."
He then goes back to his seat to drink water.
"I am most interested in jobs concerning criminals or cargo of questionable origins."
