Eila, now in a comfortable fuzz after finishing her second ale, turns to Li-Anne. "Li-Anne, what brings you along with Elliðaey‘s mission? I understand you work with Fay but have you an interest in Candlekeep, or this village?"
Li-Anne is sitting at their table watching people playing dice, cards... Money are going from one pocket to another...
She shrugs "She does" says pointing at Fay playing who is looking a place to loose some of her money... "Well, this Candle thing is supposed to be a library, right?"She takes a look at Eila "...so, they may have some books about animals... Those exotic, that can be found in lands far away...." She sights. Suddenly she turns her head go the cleric and asks "What god do you serve?"

"I don't care, I'm still free. You can't take the sky from me..."
"Thank you but they're quite well cared for, " grandfather continues in common. "Peace go with you," he adds but in Elvish as Jade leaves.
OOC I just imagined Jade on a unicycle.... "backpeddle" hahaha
Millicent is left with the invitation to join while Fay and Elliðaey go to the dice game with the handsome man and sit down. There's a game taking place called the Gambit of Ord.
"The concept is this: first, they throw 1d8, then 1d6, and finally 1d4. Ultimately, we reveal our dice and get a combination that is highest number of added together of each dice thrown. You're basically betting on the future dice thrown each round," Elliðaey explains to Fay as the handsome man nods at Elliðaey and Fay.
"Welcome," the man says beaming a smile. "You can bet on the game now or wait to throw the next game, " he explains gesturing at the dice on the table in front of three other players.
A stout redheaded man has an 8 and a 3. A lanky bearded man has a 7 and a 6. While the last player a blonde woman in nicer robes than most has an 8 and a 2.
"I'll wait," Elliðaey replies before whispering to Fay. "The only luck I trust is my own," she explains grinning.
(OOC😆 It was supposed to be backpaddling, which when you really think about it is just as weird. I'm choosing to blame autocorrect but it was probably me)
Bereft of other options, Jade sits on the ground with her back against the outer wall of the stable and eats her stew. Once the bowl is empty, she returns to the Broken Spoke.

"I've been told Candlekeep holds all sort of knowledge, I'm sure you'll find a lot of books about all sorts of animals there. As for my god, I am a priestess of Ilmater." She pulls her holy symbol out from where it's been safely tucked in her collar and shows Li-Anne the small wooden pendant with a painted image of two white hands bound by a red cord, akin to the cords wrapped around her own forearms, "The god of suffering, and martyrdom. He helps people endure hardships, and so it's my duty to use the power he grants me to aid anyone in need, to shoulder and share their pain so their suffering is eased."
"So you are a healer then?"Li-Anne asks with curiosity in her voice "That's quite noble to heal and help those in need." She takes a look at the pendant, she tries to imagine how those hands would look like in reality. How the cord would bind them... "I think I can make you one... I just need a good piece of wood." She says casually and keeps here eyes on the players.

"I don't care, I'm still free. You can't take the sky from me..."
Jade looks over the crowd for her charge and recognizes the sparkle in her eye and the faint blush of colour to her cheek, even before noticing the empty pints.
A slight sigh of relief escapes her lips. This is Eila. The penitent and the Painbearer can wait.
Jade leaves the empty bowl on the table as she reclaims her seat.
"My apologies," she says with a nod to Eila and Li-Anne.
"I... can heal, yes," she casts a glance down at the wickedly curved spike on the head of the warhammer she'd been gifted, and decides today is not the day to discuss the nuances of suffering. She finishes off her pint instead, and pats the gnome's shoulder. "Thanks for the offer, but this symbol's important to me, you don't need to trouble yourself making another. It's so nice of you though, thank you."
She's evidently pleased to see her paladin return and just waves off the formalities. "Was just talking to Li-Anne about what she wants from Candlekeep; books for studying animals." She rests her chin in one hand, "And you? It's the font of all worldly knowledge. What would you want?"
Eila looks to her paladin with the satisfied air of someone who asked a question solely to test if they already knew the answer, and was proven right. "There's... certain scrolls I'd like to find if the scholars there would grant them, but, duty first, I've only a tenday. The book I need and helping Elliðaey‘s enough."
She rolls her chin over her palm to switch to look over at Millicent, "Seems to me Candlekeep might hold a bit more for you than for us. You've been quiet - what would you be after there, Millicent?"
She asked Millicent, turning her head to follow Elliðaey‘s gaze, only to see the dice table and the handsome scoundrel who appears to be manning the game, the points of her long ears turned pink and thought to herself “ you’re starring to long. “ and then quickly turned away and downed some of her drink “ great gods, pull yourself together… how long has it been anyway? “ she pondered and then remembered the last time was in Amn with a female blacksmith named Elizabeth, normally she didn’t allow herself to act on these desires as it would interfere with her line of work.
" A lot of the time, lost magics and esoterica are a little more interesting than crop reports and merchants ledgers....but I'll do both."
She watched the others move to the gambling but contented herself with observing only, watching the interplay of expressions, observations and reactions. She soon became lost in the dance of conversations, body language and tension.

" Huh? Oh, at Candlekeep? Um....well I'm mainly there to assist my mentor in her investigations.....but if there is free time I do have some personal research I'd like to undertake."
" Nothing important, just some things I have questions about...", as she spoke her hand slipped down into her satchel and a blissful expression lit her face for a moment.
"Not all of it," says Eila in soft and fluent Elvish, before deciding this is the moment to get to her feet (a little clumsily) and go hand off her trio of pint glasses to the barmaid.
Jade stares back quizzically at Millicent. Her demeanor seems a bit more calm, as if discussing doctrine lends a layer of safety to the proceedings.
"It's something like that. As Illmateri, the focus is on reminding the betrothed that marriage is a promise to support you partner through the trials of life. I can't imagine a Painbearer would not have officiated at some point, though Painbearer Forthall's primary interests and duties lie...elsewhere."
"As far as arranged marriages go, there's no prohibition against an Illmateri performing the ceremony, at least not that I'm aware of. In actual practice the decision whether or not to participate would lie with the conscience of the individual officiant."
Jade thinks a bit further, then places her hand on Millicent's, forcing herself to make eye contact. The look on her face is one of pure sincerity.
"As for...any other concerns. I can assure you that Painbearer Forthall would not judge."
" When you say Eilas duties lie elsewhere.....where might that be?"
She looked down at Jades hand on hers and slowly withdrew her hand, " It's fine...no need to be jealous...", she muttered under her breath as her other hand dipped back into the satchel.
" Support through the trials of life. Well I suppose that is what we are all doing for each other aren't we....at least a little."

Jade seems to consider the question a moment, but quickly shrugs it off.
She opens her mouth, and for a half of a heartbeat,it looks like she's about to say something glib. Instead she shakes her head with an awkward smile.
"And you? Once you've completed your task, will you allow anything for yourself? Or will it be immediately back to the temple?"
Eila looks to her paladin with the satisfied air of someone who asked a question solely to test if they already knew the answer, and was proven right. " Nothing important, just some things I have questions about...", as she spoke her hand slipped down into her satchel and a blissful expression lit her face for a moment.
"Mysteries all around then." Jade mutters as she helps herself to an ale.
"Perhaps I can help seek out your scrolls while you look for the book."
" Thats very kind of you."
" So.......you and Eila? You've known each other a long time? Seems like you two have been through a lot."
"Thats very kind of you."
At this, Jade looks away from Millicent uncomfortably.
" So.......you and Eila? You've known each other a long time? Seems like you two have been through a lot."
Jade raises her eyes to Eila, an unspoken question etched on her face...
"Not all of it," says Eila in soft and fluent Elvish, before deciding this is the moment to get to her feet (a little clumsily) and go hand off her trio of pint glasses to the barmaid.
Jade gives Eila's back a scowl, as if offended by the needless instruction.
"Five years, more or less," she answers. There's a forced nonchalance to her words that implies she could name the date, if not the hour.
Jade takes a long, slow sip from her ale as if trying to conceal herself behind the mug.
Millicent smiled kindly, " Do you......", she paused uncertain....
" Have you? Um...marriage, how does that work? You just pick a person and then mutually decide you belong to each other?"
" I mean....not....I just mean, as a holy person you or Eila must have been...present? Involved? Observers? Of at least a few...."
Her eyes flicked up slightly worried toward her mentor and then back to Jade.
Jade stares back quizzically at Millicent. Her demeanor seems a bit more calm, as if discussing doctrine lends a layer of safety to the proceedings.

" Concerns?", Millicent shook her head lightly.
" Just professional curiosity."
" When you say Eilas duties lie elsewhere.....where might that be?"
She looked down at Jades hand on hers and slowly withdrew her hand, " It's fine...no need to be jealous...", she muttered under her breath as her other hand dipped back into the satchel.
