Karea moves and slides past faith to the hallway where the orcs have made their way towards the kings chambers looking at each other wondering if the king got into with the dark elf. Hobgoblin A takes a shortsword to the gut.
The Hobgoblins are in room 12 and overheard the king grumble something..So they kind of thought they should check it out but wasn't sure so they were just grumbling and slow walking towards the king's chambers and with surprise the first round...Now there is no surprise.
The Dark elf looks at Gundren on the floor and back at Faith then the others.
Faith nearest the door can see that Karea wounded the Hobgoblin A pretty bad and in the room are just the Dark elf now and the Wolf (Snarl).
Faith quickly turns his ring, in a panic at the intrusion of a foreign thought upon his own, at the arrival of the hobgoblins and casts Create Bonfire in the doorway to the room, to separate the reinforcements from the room. He runs to Gundren, trying to pull him behind the desk, more out of sight from the wolf and the Dark Elf who touched his mind, if possible.

Faith manages to get to Gundren before the Doppelganger can but you're still in the same room with the creature and the wolf. The bonefire also presents a barrier for Karea who is now out in the hall with the Hobgoblins.
Hobgoblin A is up: With the curtain pulled open and Karea's attack she is visible in the lighting.
Atk 16 barely misses and Karea pulls here head back as the blade goes right by it as she hears the swooosh as it cuts through the air.

With advantage on Matheris the wolf rolled a 10 and misses.
Lena is up:
Lena is outside the room also leaving Faith who cast bonfire near the doorway and Matheris to deal with the doppelganger, wolf and Bugbear...Grin..The bugbear is down. The wolf is hurt a little and the Doppelganger is almost dead. Lena outside the room with the bonfire going can attack one of the two hobgoblins. Hobgoblin A is already wounded by Karea's attack. She'll target it until if falls the hobgoblins are heavily armored. Regular attacks.
Lena's first attack is a hit: 18 and 18 dmg killing hobgoblin A. She pivots to attack Hobgoblin B. Lena's second attack:20 dmg 17goes right through the hobgoblin B's head killing it. She jumps trying to avoid most of the campfire Dex save 18 vs 15, as she comes back into the room taking her bonus action against the doppelganger.
Her attack on the doppelganger: 18 hits for 9 damage killing the doppelganger.
The wolf is still active but it has no allies and so would back away into a corner until it could escape if allowed or you kill it.
I'm going to call the encounter over as the wolf won't survive our attacks before it's turn next round, or we let it go out the way we came in.

The doppelganger changes for to it's natural appearance although bloodied. Sildar comes in as the wolf is being dealt with (Killed or released). Everyone comes back into the king's chambers and searches the place. Matheris gives Gundren a potion of healing: 6 to bring him around.
Gundren says, "Thank you thank you..I'm not leaven until I get my map back"..Sildar hugs the dwarf.."Glad you're alive."
A search of the place finds: Hidden under Grol’s bed mattress is a stitched leather sack containing 220 sp, 160 ep, 4x50 gp gems four potions of healing, and Gundren’s map to Wave Echo Cave.
Each party member get a healing potion, 55 sp, 40 ep 1x50 gp Jasper. Everyone gets 300 xp. Sildar says, "My gear is here somewhere I'd like to get it before we go back to Phandalin."
Faith, Lena and Karea watch as Matheris' skills increase (gained level 6 raising Blood hunter to level 3) and he changes into a Hybrid Lycan in front of you.
Also at 3rd level Blood hunter, you learn to control the lycanthropic curse that courses through your veins. As a bonus action, you transform into a special hybrid form for up to 1 hour. You can speak, use equipment, and wear armor while in this form, and can revert to your normal form as a bonus action. You automatically revert to your normal form if you fall unconscious or die.
Matheris says, "If we're going to go get Sildar's gear I figured now is as good as any to try this form out for an hour."

Faith greets Master Gundren, once the potion has run its course.
“It’s good to see you again, brave dwarf.”
Faith looks to the wolf growling in the corner. From his backpack he draws a ration and throws it to the wolf in the corner with a splat. Before he can do much more, a strange curse magic flows over Matheris’ form, turning him wolf like. Faith jumps, backing away despite himself, before he realises Matheris has kept control of himself.
The wolf’s snarls fill the room.
“That’s quite the new ability,” Faith replies to Matheris.
When Gundren states his wish to return to Phandalin, Faith frowns, looking down at the dead Doppelganger— a dangerous foe.
“This camp represents a dangerous base for all manner of banditry to those who travel and live near Neverwinter. It would be better if we were to explore it, and vanquish those who lived and worked under this Bugbear king. Slowly, steadily, we know not if we can be overwhelmed.”

Gundren feeling better and hearing Faith's concerns replies, "Don't worry lad..I wasn't planning on leaving for Phandalin just yet. We've got some stuff to clean up here for sure. You folks take care of the other parts of the castle. Sildar and I can follow behind you slowly and stay out of harm's way."
Matheris and everyone is happy to see Gundren get back on his feets and greet him fondly..Matheris takes the top off the Brazier and allows some additional light/warmth to permeate the room.
"Karea, Lena and Faith take point please..Get us through this castle quickly", comments Matheris.
Karea and Lena get to room 12 with the curtain already pulled open by the Hobgoblins so they aren't invisible..
A stone brazier full of coals glows in the middle of this small barracks. Four straw pallets are lined up along the east wall. The wall to the south has collapsed, but a barred wooden door in that direction is still clear. A curtain hangs in an archway to the north is drawn open.
This area was once a parlor for the castle’s human occupants, though its rotted furnishings were broken up by the Cragmaws and used for firewood.
The door to this room is held shut with a heavy wooden bar—a subtle warning that danger lies beyond. Area 13 on the map.

Faith immediately notices the bar on the door that is not in disrepair. Whatever is on the other side of it is something the hobgoblins didn’t want coming in — and he doesn’t recall Solace seeing an entrance to the castle from the tower beyond.
“If we lift the bar and open the door and peek inside? Maybe we can oil the hinges. Enemy to hobgoblins might not be enemy to us.”
The group oil the hinges and raise the bar which makes a scraping noise but the door is a bit quieter as it swings open.
An owlbear is waking up and growls/screeches loudly.
Faith and the two gloom stalkers grab some rations and toss to the beast. It reacts positively to being fed and bolts out of the room past the group and out the way the came in sparing a fight and it's life as you would have easily dealt with the beast.
This room was once a library and workshop, but nothing of its original contents remains intact. There is a hidden chest you locate inside the King and his men hadn't found yet. For a while, they listen for the Owlbear, but its crashes and hoots grow increasingly distant. It seems it won't be coming back. "Lucky," Faith mutters. He'd rather not tangle with one, an innocent but deadly creature.
In the first room, Faith hesitates. Scrolls of magic are valuable to him, and Revivify is the chance to save a life in a desperate situation, but it seems the Scroll of Silence is a spell of ritual, and it might be that he can learn to use its magic more than once if he is able to find some hours to memorise and practice its glyphs and puzzle out the essence of its material components.
"I'll take the scroll of Silence, if no objections," he says to the other.
As they split the findings and begin to creep further into the dark, Faith finds himself arrested by the angels carved in the dark of this room. Holy figures ... in the dark they seem unsettling and he feels ashamed of himself for thinking that. He mutters another prayer to Tymora, for perspicacity and judgment, and as his eyes slip from the statue's face to the ... wait, what is that on the ledge?
Faith focus his mind and pulls the Grick five feet towards him, trying to dislodge it from the ledge high up. He points the ring of the Efreeti towards it and fires a Smokey Eldritch Blast. Spell cast, Faith runs to hide behind a statue rather than waiting to see what it will do.
