“Must be a sizable pool of water in the chamber to the East. I can hear water lapping.”
Thalron looks at the kobold.
”I say we let it go. It is likely it will just scamper off. I doubt it will help us in any meaningful way, But it would be very unlikely, it would lead us into a trap, should it stay with us.”
Beyond the hallway the room opens up into another naturally-formed chamber. In the far corner you find a natural spring that feeds a 10-foot-deep pool of clear, fresh water. At the cave wall you see a glint of something metallic about a foot above the water’s surface.
Progo stares at the metallic object, "Well that's not suspicious, anybody care to investigate?" Is there anyway to scale the wall to the object without getting in the water?
Thalron creeps close to the water’s edge to get a better look at the glinting object on the wall above the water. He fully expects this to be a trap/bait and will be especially wary of something reaching from the water, trying to drag him in. And if it does, he’s gunna be pissed! (RAGE!!!)

Progo is always very observant after something happens!
Yeah 😄
Progo, you can tell that this creature doesn’t understand you.
Thalron, you can hear a faint sound of water lapping in the room to the East (the opposite side of where you entered this room from)

"Very well, Progo will do this thing." He puts the rapier away and pulls out some picks and attempts to pick the lock.

You manage to easily pick the simple lock. The kobold nervously moves away from you.
Savitri mpved away from the kobold reasoning her blade and armour were likely frightening to the little dragon-thing.
Progo open the door and walks towards the sound of the water Thalron indicated.

Savitri followed Progo, glancing back towards the cage occasionally.

Nothing seems obvious

You can see from your closer vantage point that it is a chest with simple latches and no lock.
Savitri moved up to the edge of the pool and casts Destroy Water (10 gallons).
