“Very gracious of you, lord. There’s enough for each of us to take one ring and one potion.”
Thalron gladly accepts one ring and one potion. He manages to get the ring seated correctly on his left pinky and he adds the stoppered bottle to a side pouch on his backpack for easy access.
”Now, who could use the wand to its best use?” He looks to his new compatriots for one or more to flash an ‘Aha!’ expression.
”I’m sure I could find a way to strap both bags to my backpack, if you want me to be the mule. Or, they could be carried separately by others. What is every one’s thoughts?”
Progo takes a Bag of Holding, ring of protection, and a potion in a swift motion. "Progo will accept gifts, in return Progo and co will bring you heads to decorate your halls."
Progo has a much smaller build then the typical half orcs, almost considered scrawny by human standards. Dressed for travel in leather vest that's fine enough to be presentable in places in common society. Green skin, with hair up in a line from forehead to neck and shaved on the sides, he shows off his tiny arms like he's proud of how physically weak they make him look.
He turns to the others. "I am Progo, I believe we are in for a long night, best we make plans."
"It's bad business for one to use his own wares, but Progo will make bad business decision and bring some wares in bag. Easier to carry then push cart"
“Well met, Progo. Seeing as how the sun is just coming up, I think our plan is to hunt this thing during the day and end it while it sleeps. Otherwise, we will probably become the hunted after the sun goes down.”
" Everyone take what you will, I'll trust to my own abilities for the time being. I agree we hunt for its lair during the day, but it is likely to return this evening."
" Sir Tristan? What are the remaining 'target rich' areas that the beast may come for?"
Savitri looked the others over, they appeared confident and skilled in their own ways, things could be worse.
“The beast seemed to prefer areas that had plentiful amounts of food. It came for our orchard first, then our grazing livestock. I fear it will move closer into our hamlet and start atacking my people”
"Progo thinks we should look for pattern in sightings, first was the apple orchard, no resistance but close to the city gates. Then the sheep out to pasture, further from town and little resistance from the sheep and herders. Progo feels the beast may have some sense of wrong its doing as it's clearly been avoiding feasting on humans, at least as a main target. It's also getting further from town. Progo thinks this is strange behavior for the beast."
He starts to pace a little bit, toying with ring he grabbed earlier in his hands. "Perhaps we could set a trap for it if we are unable to locate it's lair, perhaps Sir Tristan you can have your people gather supplies to use as bait for a trap we know its a fan of apples and lamb chops. If nothing else it might give the beast a place to show that we can influence instead of reacting wherever it shows."
“Sir Tristan, earlier you said it first attacked the outskirts and livestock and lastly the orchard. But just now you said orchard first then livestock. I know you are troubled, but which is it?”
Thalron raises an eye at the Paladin, especially at the juxtaposition of the discussion of orphans and baiting the monster.
“You are right, I am troubled. I fear for the lives of my people and that is causing be great anxiety. I misspoke, it started attacking further from the town in the grazing fields, and is attacking closer each night. Just before you all arrived it had made it to the city gates. Too many of my guard lost their lives keeping my people safe. The next time it comes back I don’t think we can keep I at bay.”
Savitri raised an eyebrow, " Is there an orphanage or kindergarten?"
He looks quizzically at you when he hears this question, “there is a school house here, but I have ordered all my people to stay home and safe with their families until we are no longer under this threat.” His eyes begin to sparkle with tears, “up until these recent events we had no need for an orphanage, but I suppose I will need to establish something. More than one child will not be greeting their parents home this evening”

“I must now make preparations for my people. The burden of lordship weighs heavy on me this day” he says “ I bid you all well, and good fortune. May the gods be in your favour. I will take my leave if you all now.” He starts to turn to walk away then hesitates. “…before I do…”
He draws a greatsword from the scabbard on his back; it sings as he presents it to you all. Its hilt finely decorated and the blade itself is forged from a strange black metal.
(****don’t look this item up****)
“This” he says “is Winter’s Dark Bite. It has been passed down to me through generations.” He admires the blade as he is presenting it before you. “It has served me well but I have a feeling it will serve one of you better on your journey than it would me here. This is my final parting gift I offer you.”
He stands there holding it flat between his two outstretched palms, waiting for one of you to take it. (this is a +1greatsword)
Human Paladin who appears to be stronger than himself, what is she thinking?
“Sir Tristan, I will trade you my great axe for your blade for the length of this mission. When we return with bags full of heads for your hall, we can exchange our weapons. Deal?”
Fred says "Thank you. You are too kind." If there is enough he will take one of the Rings of Protection.

He nods. “Are you all satisfied with my offer?” Sir Tristan says to you all expectantly.
“Indeed, Sir Tristan. And I’ll do my best not to spoil the heads by burying my axe in their foreheads.”

Savitri mused, " A fine weapon but too heavy for myself."
Progo shakes his head, "Progo prefers less steel, easier to cover in Progo's special potions! But is fine blade, for someone not Progo."
Thalron audibly gasps,
”My lord … “

(@Savitri you really should be the one to wield the +1 greatsword (now wielding), also don’t snub the ring of protection.
@all Thalron will carry the second bag of holding, if no one else wants to - Progo carrying the other. Also, he’ll put the unclaimed items in the bag.
Wand of Magic Missiles - I was going to say Thalron could better his 30’ ranged javelins but it appears Savitri has no ranged spell or weapon.
2 potions of healing, greater - 3 claimed, 2x Progo, Thalron
1 ring of protection - 4 claimed, Fred, Progo, Savitri, Thalron)

( Ok. Does anyone want a shield and/or scimitar? Dropped my AC a little to take the Greatsword but its still decent.)
