Nave doesn't live in one of the rooms for rent in the inn. Instead, Pick leads Castien to a small, windowless abode on the first floor; probably a large storeroom in a past life.
There is a small bed to the right, barely big enough for Nave, much less a full grown adult. To the left is a flat topped chest that appears, from the dirty, empty stew bowl on top, to double as both a storage space and a low table.
“ Now could please tell me her daily routine, while I check her chest? “
Castien asked calmly, he was going to hopefully find a shirt of hers and use his keen senses to sniff her out with his superior nose, hopefully in the same he’ll stumble upon an indicator of any hobbies she might do or places she might visit
"Her routine?" even through the almost tears, a hint of a smile crosses his face.
"Nave roams free, always has, and I wouldn't dare try to tame her. She'd run off just to spite me. I just do my best to make sure she has a place to sleep and gets at least one meal in her belly. She makes her own way, running errands and messages or whatever other odd jobs strikes her fancy. Still picks the occasional pocket too, though more for the fun of it than out of need these days."
His face gets serious, and maybe a bit regretful.
"Fella like you probably wouldn't approve, but I haven't exactly lived a life that can judge her for what she does. She'll make right, when she's ready and on her terms, but I believe in her."
"You said she almost got pinched yesterday? Do you know who it was that caught her?"
There's not much in the chest to help; just a couple of changes of clothing, a bit of soap, a few trail rations, and a small loaf of hard crusted bread. At the bottom of the chest however, Castien spies a small latch that allows him to open a false bottom. Inside, wrapped in a leather case, is an assortment of picks, small files, and other delicate tools.
"Thieves kit," says Pick.
The clothes are clean, but not particularly well laundered. While they tell him nothing about where she's been, Castien is able to pick up trace of her scent to help him track her.
Castien stated as he picked up the shirt with the strongest scent, he picked up the thieves kit from the bottom latch, just in case she was trapped somewhere and he needed to do a descent rescue mission.
He took both with him and headed for the door but paused before he left and turned to Pick, putting a comforting hand on the bartenders shoulder he offered a small reassuring smile
