The Archie - IronMaiden conundrum is well beyond Reed so he slips off to have a look downstairs just to make sure enemies aren't getting ready to sneak up on them. He slips down as quietly as he can to have a quick peek around.
As Reed sneaks off, the IronMaiden responds to Corlith, thinking carefully, with consideration and concern towards Archie's state, before answering. "I believe we can wait, if any more threats approach us, then I will forcibly take over, Archie is in no state to fight. With the rate at which her vitality is decreasing, she should not perish before we find this duke"
"It is not just about perishing, it is about making sure she won't be permanently debilitated by what has happened", Corlith responds. "She looks rough, Iornmaiden. Incredibly weak. If every moment she is going to be getting weaker then what sort of life can she have when we finally get her out?", he says, concern evident in his tone.
"Unless the Duke happens to have Master Thell with him, we need another plan. I can try and teleport her out, and then we can heal her as much as possible. You can survive for a time with the Arcane Sphere, right?".
"I hope so, there's only one way to find out and she is the priority. I had not thought of a lingering disability, I should have said something sooner, I'm sorry." IronMaiden takes a beat thinking of the possible consequences of taking Archie out. Finally turning to Corlith and asking, "if she is unable to continue, I will return her to the survivors, they may be able to safeguard her whilst you all press on"
Reed pops back up from downstairs and waves at the group.
"No noise and a lot of stairs," Reed says. "I didn't get too far. It starts to twist and turn a bit. But there is a busted up lab that I'm sure Virro will be interested in. Otherwise no big baddies waiting to jump out at us so far."
Reya had been hovering over the opened up IronMaiden, having no idea what to say or do, when Reed arrives she smiles, "Think we could short rest in that lab? Then press on towards the Duke?"
"a lab may provide tools with which to assist in Archie's removal, if that is what you think is best Corlith. Archie and I are in your hands, all of you." IronMaiden closes their chest once again, encasing within the curled up and withered genasi, seemingly more machine than humanoid now.
“Busted up lab? Hmm, that is worth a look. Let’s press on, shall we?” Virro starts to head down the stairs, in the direction that Reed pointed. He stops from time to time, listening for any footfalls, then moves along toward the lab.

A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
The group follows Reed down the stairs to a door that is open at the bottom. Crossing the threshold you find yourself in the workshop that Reed described. It's about 40x20 and looks as thought the room was used to prepare the dead for the next stage. Unfortunately, the place looks like it has been ransacked, knives, saws, piping and tubes are littering the floor. Acid and embalming fluid pool everywhere, amid a field of shattered flasks and jars. There is a set of double doors across from you that stand open and there appear to be tracks left in the embalming fluid.
After taking a moment to think on it, and on the way down the stairs IronMaiden responds to Corlith, "I hadn't thought of it really, I certainly haven't been assuming a mannerism intentionally, but we do technically share a body, when she is conscious she uses my limbs, my eyes, logically she could also be using my processing units, perhaps she has had influence over how I act, how I think... My earliest memories were an overwhelming sense of justice that I later found was hers all along, my interest in tinkering and mechanical systems are her interests, whether I knew it or not, she has taught me everything I know. Which, amongst other things is why saving her is such a priority for me, a priority over my own continued existence..." IronMaiden puts a hand on Corlith's shoulder, the burning blue of the flames within the visor lookin into his very souls as they plead, "if it comes to a decision between her or me, make sure she survives. Please."
Virro stands with hands on hips. “Barbarians! Who had the gall to break in here and destroy all of this equipment!” He starts to move from broken alembic to toppled flask, looking for any remaining embalming fluid. “Ransacked! What kind of idiots would do this…”. He keeps looking through the equipment, looking for anything out of place, anything remaining that would be useful… then he notices the footprints. “Why I’ll have a word with them, the jackbooted thugs…” Virro then grips his gloves tightly, starting to walk toward the footprints.
Investigation, (with adv due to knowledge of the equipment) - anything unusual? Why was this ransacked? - 10

A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
"We will do our best to help you both, but if that is your wish I will abide by it", Corlith replies to Ironmaiden. He looks the large suit of armour in the helmet, trying to see some spark of life akin to looking into a persons eyes, but sees nothing but metal and flame. And yet, putting someone else's needs above your own required empathy.
When they reach the lab, and he notices the tracks, he also takes a closer look, trying to figure out what sort of creature they might belong to.
After your long rest, Reya gets up urgent to move on and opens the double doors. Seeing stairs that lead down, she starts down them and finds a landing that forks to the left and right. Turning back to Reed, "Which way did you go?" Then to everyone, "Which way should we head?"
Reed looks over at Reya, then looks down both stairways from the landing. He points down the left side.
"I went down that way. Just found a corridor that branched off to the left and right again. Didn't hear anything though," Reed says. Then he gets distracted by something near his head.
"Oh great, you're all back. Did you have a nice nap?"
He looks around for a moment and gestures towards the right.
"One's as good as the other," Reed says as he heads down the staircase to the right.
The IronMaiden shuts down for a few hours getting rest and healing up Archie too, but after a while they are tinkering again, using the crackle of the lightning in their gauntlets to weld bits of metal into a small cage, heating and pressing glass from the old lab bottles and I setting them, finally they pluck a hair from the flying cat and imbues it with an arcane flame before placing it within the shoddy shuttered lantern.
When the others wake, IM is checking around the room with this odd lantern, shedding a luel light over areas, "this will help reveal invisible creatures to us. By the way does anyone have a gem? I'd like a little help in the coming fights and I need to infuse a gem for that."
If someone does indeed offer a gem, IM will set it in a small contraption that they have made, a little robot like the yuanti they had made before, but this thing has broken glass and old needles for hands and looks like a tiny humanoid with horns.
Setting off down the stairs IM takes the rear guard and whispers "this place is a damned maze..." When Reya asks about direction.
IM looks over the moonstone, very closesly "hmmm... the refraction is lacking, prisming any arcanum within may leak out over time but it is worth a shot" (gonna leave it to DM discretion whether we are bothering with needing specifically priced gems for these infusions 100gp gem needed but happy to use whatever)
"As for Archie I feel like her condition has not worsened over our rest, she is not good, bit for now stable, I think it may get worse if she is injured to the point of unconsciousness again."
When everyone walks up, they find Virro quietly walking around the room, gathering up tubing, any remaining embalming fluid, trying to organize the supplies into whatever may be usable on a table. Old habits die hard. You can take the undertaker out of the mortuary but you can’t take the mortuary out of the undertaker….

The group follows Reed down the stairs to their right (east for those keeping score), and find that the corridor winds and then more stairs take you further down. When you finally open up beyond a hallway, you find yourselves in very large room that is apparently a dead end. Lining the east, west and north walls are five daisies that have statues upon them. Four of the five's faces are marred up beyond recognizability, but the fifth is a finely carved statue of a kneeling man.
That tracks seen before do not exist in this room, and it is quiet as a tomb.

"Ok, sounds like a plan", Corlith adds, waiting a little while before following so he doesn't have to sneak around.
"You know Ironmaiden, the way you speak is becoming a lot more Archie like. Is that something you are doing on purpose?", he asks during the wait.

Corlith is very happy when the decision is made to rest for a longer period. He hadn't wanted to say it outright, but had felt weak. Really weak.
When Ironmaiden asks for a gem, he digs in his pack and retrieves a moonstone worth about 50 gold, "Is this good sufficient?".
He follows the others down the stairs, walking next to Ironmadien so they can talk.
"Does it feel like the rest did Archie any good?".
