Archie looks concerned at the tiefling, as he turns away, possibly exhausted from the exertion. She looks to her withered legs and the IronMaiden notices too, they move to pick her up, easily lifting her into a princess carry, "yes, I think I might have to stay behind, hopefully the other survivors can't Roo's followers can look after me, at least until I can walk again..." She looks to Pherria for some kind of affirmation and then around to Reya and Ravenguard, "how's your head?" She asks trying to change the subject, which is quickly followed by, "it seems freeing people from tin cans is somewhat of a theme right now" referencing the Ravenguard's helm too.
Reya, still kneeling next to IronMaiden before they get up, stays there stunned for quite awhile, not having witnessed magic such as this before. And the fact that Corlith was able to actually save them both when she was ready to have to say goodbye to one of them, and was tortured herself on how Corlith was going to make such a decision.
Finally she brakes from her paralysis, gets up and runs to the tiefling, engulfing the exhausted man in a tight embrace, tears falling from her eyes. "Thank you!! Oh thank you dear man!! I don't know how you did it, but you did." She finally lets go and walks over to where IronMaiden is holding Archie in a princess carry. Being able to see Archie as a person without the suit, is both a relief and awful, seeing the state she is in. She gently touches the fire genasi's face.
Pherria nods to the girl, "Of course you may stay with us and I will do whatever I can in my power to aide in your healing. Praise Torm!" Ulder Ravenguard, who watched in awe as Corlith performed his miracle, stands now and brushes himself off. "I must stay here and defend the rest of Elturel. Go find more survivors and bring them together." He looks to Lulu and the party, "Will you go find this Sword of Zariel? I do believe that is what is needed to save Elturel and bring it back to the light of day." Lulu trumpets and twirls around, obviously ready to get going.
Reya wipes away her tears and takes a stance next to Ravenguard. "I too will stay here and assist with Elturel." Her face softens a bit, "And with Archie. I know you guys can get the sword and bring it back. I believe in all of you."
Reed almost has to brush a tear away at what has happened but he coughs and waves at the air around his head.
”I was not. It’s just some dust.” Reed says.
He listens to everyone’s plans and then finally asks Ravenguard “So anything special about this sword we should know about besides that it can levitate whole cities? Like does it say super special magic sword or something like that? There are a lot of swords down here.”
Corlith flinches when Reya embraces him, and remains rigid, but does not pull away and does not say anything. When she lets go he takes in a deep breath to refill his lungs after the air was expelled by the tight embrace, then turns to look at the others. His face is set and determined. Resolute.
"It is true, there is still a job to do here. If the sword is the answer, we will retrieve it. Lulu will lead us to it", he says addressing Reed's concern. "You said you can see this Fort Knucklebone, Lulu. How do we get down there? Those of us that don't fly, I mean".
Lulu nods vehemently at the mention of the sword. But as to how to get down, her face screws up in concentration. Suddenly, she flies out of the chapel.
As it seems the group is hasty to follow Lulu towards fort knucklebone, the IronMaiden makes short work of escorting Reya, Pherria, Ravenguard and Archie back to high hall, carrying Archie the entire time. Though not before the young genasi has had ample chance to wish everyone good luck, thanking them for their part in helping her and asking that they look out for the IronMaiden. Still overcome with emotion both joyful and at loss, Archie leaves the group, joining Roo in their protection of the survivors at high hall and hopefully giving herself chance to heal too.
Not long after the Iron Maiden returns, though they seem quiet, out of sorts, likely a little lighter too. "Which way to the fort again?"
"I do believe you are right, Reed", Corlith says, choosing to following after Lulu rather than have a protracted goodbye with Archie and Roo. He looks to where Lulu looks, trying to spot Fort Knucklebone for himself, and a route to it.
Virro seems distracted for a bit, staring off into space, then looks down to Corlith, Ironmaiden and Reed. “On to the Fort? I’m with you. Feeling better, everyone? I hope Lulu knows where she is going….”

A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
You all make it out of the chapel and as IronMaiden rejoins you, you look out to the vastness of Avernus, the arid and odd looking place that you are now all planning to visit. The lightning still crashes from Companion above you, and the sulfur of the air burns your noses as you breathe it in. You hear the constant fighting, the battle going on between the demons and devils, from below you.
"We could just climb down them," Reed says with the confidence of someone who has a magic spider cloak that will let him just walk down the chains. Then he looks at the others who he now remembers do not have such a cloak. "Maybe Lulu can ferry down those not up to climbing the whole way?"
The party starts looking down from Elturel and sees the ground below. The River Styx is directly below them, and all around the edges (including where the chains are connected to the ground), are legions of devils and demons locked in battle. Taking a closer look at the chains, each link is about 30 feet long, 20 feet wide and is formed of a welded loop of infernal iron that is 5 feet thick. The chain links are covered in 1-foot-long iron barbs that appear to make them relatively easy to move along. It's quite aways to the ground.
"It seems that we have discovered how some of the devils have been gaining access to Elturel, aside from that portal and the ones who can obviously fly... I wonder what they are fighting about? Lulu are there different factions in avernus? Do you recognise any armour style or banner?" Ironmaiden asks out loud, as they survey the mayhem below and consider the chains like a massive ladder.
Virro looks down at the chains, saying "I can cast feather fall if we slip or start to fall from this height. Perhaps we climb down the chain slowly? Is there any one of them that leads to an area where battle isn't raging?" Virro looks around, walking and looking down the chains to see where they lead, where would be the best point to descend.

Lulu's eyes get wide with an almost surprise as she looks at IronMaiden. She pauses for a moment, her eyes looking like they might fill with tears, but then she shakes her head and flies next to Virro and looks down with him, her tiny wings fluttering next to her body. The sight below is utterly devastating, the bodies, the carnage, the fires and the River Styx. Virro doesn't see any chain that doesn't lead to the battle.
From her returning memories we have deduced that Zariel is leading the forces of devils... Though where from I am not sure. I have no knowledge of infernal combat, if there are legions or organised squads, it looks like chaos, but surely Zariel would want a position to observe the battle from, right?"

Reed watches the scene and smiles, happy for the outcome.
He’ll leave the healing deer to the others if it helps them. He’s hurt but not too badly.

Reed waves at Lulu and then watches her fly out of the chapel.
"She says she'll recognize the sword," Reed says. He waits a moment after she flies away. "Maybe she wants us to follow her."
Reed follows outside the chapel.

"Well, I see Fort Knucklebone, but not sure how we get there with us floating up here and those devils and demons fighting below", Corlith says.
"Perhaps we can make use of those chains that are dragging the city down?", he wonders.
He seems happy to focus on logistics and nothing more right now.
Reed nods happily at mention of the chains.
"We could just climb down them," Reed says with the confidence of someone who has a magic spider cloak that will let him just walk down the chains. Then he looks at the others who he now remembers do not have such a cloak. "Maybe Lulu can ferry down those not up to climbing the whole way?"
Reed looks back down at Avernus.
"I think jumping would be a bad idea."

"What about that portal?" Reed asks. "It goes somewhere. And maybe not to where there are thousands of demons and devils fighting."
"devils came from it, I only mention it as a point of access for them to get here." The tinny analysing voice returns
