Kell doesn't seem bothered by most of the things that happen during the trip, but as Khessa and Togar discuss magic, his interest does seem piqued. He says nothing, but raises his eyebrow a couple times as they chat about the pronunciations of certain verbal components. Perhaps they would benefit from...No, that part of your life is behind you, Kell. Focus on the future. Eventually he does speak up, his mouth twisting into a grin "Say, you two. You wanna see some real magic?"
"You bet I do!" Khessa's blue eyes sparkle with excitement "Let us see!"
Though not quite competent to control the horses as well as Khessa, Dusk has been observing for the past days and does its best to help her calm and steady them as the giant crashes through the woods. Then, rotating its head focuses its eye-stones towards the elk and giant, hoping to understand the situation ((can you please describe both? I'm trying to figure out what kind of giant can outrun an elk.)). As the others seem to pay it little mind, focusing mostly on simply holding on to their seats, Dusk points its two-fingered hand to the ground just behind and under the elk and makes a fist with his stone-metal hand, causing the ground to lightly quake for the next minute. It then points it's other hand just off to the side and behind the elk, as thunder rumbles from the woods there, hoping that these may cause enough distraction for the elk to escape.
((since we haven't been setting up camp to describe this)) Each night as the group sets up camp, Dusk is happy to learn as much as he can while talking with the others. He also is happy to keep watch each night, as he is quite perceptive to things happening around, and has considerably better vision in the dark than even the owl in the group. While the others sleep he simply goes inactive near a tree, but is able to keep watch once the fire (if one was used) goes out.
Kell reaches into the breast pocket of his duster, and pulls out a deck of cards. As he shuffles them, he does a couple of flourishes, flicking the cards into the air and catching them, as well as a few fairly complex cuts of the deck. Smiling at Khessa, he walks over and plops himself down next to her. He fans the cards, slightly jostling Togar as he does. He smiles sheepishly in apology, then addresses Khessa "Pick a card Khessa, any card."
Togar moves back when Kell is doing flourishes, moving backward to the back of the wagon. “Easy! Watch it now!” He watches with a wary eye as the trick proceeds. Once all is done, he settles back down to his cushion.
Erlang watches with idle curiosity as Kell's interest in magic is piqued during Khessa and Togar's conversation. His dark eyes follow the subtle movements of the cards, the way Kell effortlessly manipulates them in his hands. A flicker of amusement dances across Erlang's face as he observes the interplay between his companions.
"Go on, Khessa," Erlang chimes in, his voice carrying a lighthearted tone. "Let's see what kind of magic he has up his sleeve."
(Quick note, the suits on the cards aren't the standard suits, there actually seem to be seven different ones, each representing a kingdom of Aelira. A snowflake for the Bowen Empire, A twisted tree for the Whiteridge Kingdom, A bird in flight for the Rivenis Kingdom, A pair of crossed swords for the Kwiloth Empire, An hourglass for the Amitha Kingdom, three mountains for the An-Olc Empire and a seventh suit marked by a rising sun with no clear denomination. The closest to a queen of hearts would probably be the Empress of Snowflakes.)
"Alright Khessa, I need you to memorize that card. When you are fully certain you will remember it, I need you to put it back in the deck anywhere you wish."As she does, he once again shuffles the deck, then fans it out face up to show that all the cards are properly mixed. "Alright Khessa, I need you to look directly into my eyes. Try and think of the card you picked." He slowly starts to toss cards onto the floor of the wagon, one by one. Just as he is about to reach the end of the deck, he stops, then holds up a card towards you "Khessa, is this your card?" It appears to be a three of birds, it is most assuredly not your card.

"Not exactly..." she replies, ready for a surprise - the guy can't be so bad at tricks, can he? "But I understand it was not easy, go on and try again!"
Dusk, the giant is a large well tanned giant. It drags a stripped down large chunk of a felled tree as a club. The elk are just your normal everyday elk. You set off a couple thaumaturgy spells in an attempt to help the elk. The spells send the elk fleeing slightly further than where they originally stopped to rest for a moment.
(OOC: It's less that the giant can outrun the elk, it's more of the elk are showing signs of being tired and the giant is continuously chasing and not getting tired.)
Togar watches the card shuffling and the trick that is being performed, with a wary interest. He has no experience with cards and seems puzzled by what is happening. He watches from the end of the wagon, waiting to see the outcome. “How do you use… magic. Do you feel the weave through the cards? Are they… magical?” With curiosity, he continues to watch, and he begins to ritually cast detect magic to try and answer his own question. “Do you follow this Khessa?”

"I think Kell's magic is in deception and sleight of hands, more than in cards" Khessa smiles. "But let's see how this game ends. It should be fun! And the 'magic' of trickery might help us no less than the magic of the Weave anyway. Who knows what kind of challenges will we face? It is good to be able to count on many skills".
Kell gives Khessa a look of mock indignation, but he quickly turns back to the trick. "In the right hands, a deck of cards is the most real and true magic there is. You're sure this isn't your card? Well, what are the chances of that."He reaches down to the pile of cards in front of him, and picks them up, visibly placing the card he picked at the bottom of the deck "What are the chances, that of all the cards in the deck..." One by one, he starts to flip them over. Every single card that he turns reveals itself to be an Empress of Snowflakes, Khessa's card. "The one I picked was the only card that didn't belong to you." As he reaches the last card, he turns it over and it too is now an Empress of Snowflakes. He smirks. "Now that's magic"
He tosses the card to Khessa. Under closer inspection, it is clearly handpainted, with a great deal of detail. "You keep that."

"Nice magic! Now, we only have to challenge the devil to a card game... and victory will be ours!" Khessa enthusiastically pats the other on the shoulder "And the card is beautiful, I'll keep it. I'll find a gift for you to reciprocate, you'll see".
She quickly summons Avimm (under the wagon's tent, so he is not exposed to the hated sun light) and shows her 'prize' to him: "Avimm, take a look at this! Do you see how nicely has it been painted! Kell just gave it to me! Looks really good doesn't it? What do you think Avimm?"
Regardless of Avimm's opinion, Khessa will then hide the card on herself with a last furtive smile.
Dusk twitters in response to the trick. You’re still not quite sure how its head is attached to its body, but it seems like the egg shaped head quickly bobs vertically for a few seconds as a somewhat metallic sound close to a chuckle comes out. It then makes a fist as the light sound of applause surround the wagon for just a few seconds. “How clever!” It says, enjoying this interaction with its companions.

"Huh?!" wonders Khessa "Did you see how he did it, Dusk?"
Kell looks a little self conscious as he looks down. "Well it weren't all that, it was a pretty simple trick." Glancing up a dusk, Kell puts a finger to his lips and winks "Don't go givin' away all my secrets now, a body's gotta have a couple tricks up his sleeve"
Dusk
Since you won the contest you notice a couple of things. Firstly, how the trick was done - there was simply a second deck that Trill switched out the first one for twice. First he made Khessa pick from the deck full of Empresses, then he showed her the regular deck and made her put her card back. After that he switched the decks once again, save for a single card which he pulled from the regular deck. After showing her the regular card, he palmed it instead of putting it at the bottom of the deck and then he turned over all the cards in the Empress deck. Secondly, as Trill jostled Togar, he slipped a card from a different deck into one of the birdfolk's pockets. The card was a deep red color.

Erlang reclines comfortably in his seat, a hint of a smile playing on his lips as he watches Kell's trick unfold before him. His interest is casual, but it doesn't diminish the enjoyment he derives from the spectacle. "Nice trick." Erlang says with a smile, glad to have something interesting to do on their trip.
