"This will take a while, but I should be able to get it all back in working order." Elsara offers."If you want, do you wanna check the nearby area while I work?" She looks to Val with the lizards. "They didn't get too spooked, did they?"
(All for working the 2 hours of fixing if the others want to short rest and/or do other stuff.)
"They were but fortunately we found them last night but they are better now, right guys?" he smiles to the lizards and rubs them on the chin. "Do you need help?he offers to Elsara.
"I should be alright, though I guess keeping the lizards in check would be best whilst I do this; it might take a little bit." Elsara tells Val and the others before getting back to work.
In spite of it being Monsoon, the season of frequent and heavy rains, the sky was clear this day. Sticking to the roads which were now dry, the lizards were able to go quite fast, bringing the party all the way back to the Wylan region from Orien. The smell of wet grass still hangs in the air as the party enters the Gazza Grasslands. It seems that if the party keeps moving through the night they can make a late entry into town at around 1:30 AM. Gendan has been unusually quiet through out the trip back. The party stops at the crossroads in Wylan to have dinner. There is a strange uncanny feeling that hangs in the air. Starts twinkle in the bluish-black night sky and the place is quiet... too quiet. The party begins to smell the faint scent of cinder. A distant flapping can be heard. The flapping quickly gets louder and two gargoyles each the size of Frost Giants swoop down from the sky and grab Gendan. They announce, "Debts to Belial, King of Gargoyles, must be paid." before they carry Gendan off into the night.
Devarus is very much on the bandwagon of continuing on to the night. The most recent discovery aside, the half-drow truthfully just wanted to rest in his own bed for a change, and not some creepy house's bed. Of course he didn't say as much, but the others have heard him grumbling enough in the mornings while popping joints back into place to suspect it. Regardless of how that conversation goes, he sided with the majority without much complaint.
Later on, the former Sydill guardsman is scrambling to try and get his bow in hand in time. But while he was willing to fire a couple shots off into the dark after the gargoyles, the compulsion to race after is pushed aside to look at the others and asks, "What. Was that?"

Elsara looks listens in from the inside of the carriage. "Hmm?"She pops her head out. "What's happening, Mr. Devarus?" She asks, looking around the area near the carriage.
"Neither would I. Which is why I had been hoping one of you understood what those creatures meant by Belial and debts." Devarus said, before glancing off in at least a rough direction they few off to. "Or am I right to fear that Miss Gendan was last than forthcoming about the nature of her past with the rest of you? If so, then..." He trails off in thought, then nodded firmly to himself. "All the more reason for us to make haste back to Sydill, and see if there are yet guild contacts that can help with the situation."

"I'm sure Mr. Sweetcane will know something." Elsara agrees. "But it'll be so early by the time we get to town, he might be having a catnap." She retrieves the sending stone from her pouch. "Maybe we can contact ahead of time, if one of you can say what you saw, I was kinda inside so didn't see exactly what happened. It can send 25 words."
Devarus nods curtly and is quick to accept the stone. "It is fairly late as is. So, here's hoping these things leave a message, I suppose." He grins a fleeting grin before staring seriously at the stone. Having seen the others make use of it before, he conveys the following:
"Returning to Sydil with due haste. Gendan however kidnapped enroute by Gargoyles. Vanished Without Trace. Gargoyles connected to Belial. Require advice regarding matter."
The message sent, Devarus waits with baited breath for answer. If none is to come that evening, he bows his head, and held it there for a while in defeat. "... Back to the Lizards for now. We have.. much more to speak with our friends back at home." He affirmed, only to return inside to pay his dues for the meal before heading for their transport.

Devarus eyes go wide at the news. Then he sighed, and expression downcast, offers the stone back to Elsara as he broke the news to the others. "I can only hope whatever 'debt' this Belial has demanded of her... " He trails off from there uncertain of what even the right words would be to say. Because consider the being owed the debt, hope wasn't something he had much of in it being so easy a 'fix'. "... Let's go."

"Gendan..." Elsara utters quietly, hoping that her friend will be alright. She doesn't like the idea of powerful demons, but if they can do something to help Gendan, she will be more than happy to help. However, she opts to go with the others, back to The Guild.
The party, now missing one Gendan, arrive in town at late night. It is very quiet here in this town. Being so late at night, there is a darkness in the town with all the houses and shops being closed and the lights inside off. The occasional hoots of an owl can be heard. The only two houses where light can be seen are the guild house and the stone house shielded by plants at the outskirts of town, the one that belongs to Ms. Winterlight, formerly Mrs. Daknin. It seems Deva's mother is home currently.
Elsara notions for the group to get the carriage back and the lizards into the stables. She hopes that either Ms. Darkwing or Mr. Sweetcane is up, but understands it is so late in the night that they might already be in bed.

While Elsara and the others work on the wagon, Val keeps the lizards close and feed them with one ration.
"You will need your strength my friends" he speaks to them.

"We must go follow them!" he says "unfortunately I wouldn't be able to track them... "

Elsara looks up and tries to work out where they have gone, attempting to work out where they are and which way they are going.

Gargoyles, just as suddenly they came, seems to be gone without a trace. No way of figuring out which way they went. They just vanished.
((OOC: Sorry but had to write Gendan out of the game somehow.))
