Devarus is not nearly as quick to leave as Valwyrn, but rather he narrowed his eyes where Vlad and Victor last slipped away. But eventually he had stepped out after the others half focused on the mansion for either however far some chose to get away, or at least until they were a solid 100 or so feet away from the premise. "Idea? Hardly, my friend. Frankly, I had hoped to force his hand a bit, as I was quite frankly on the verge of shooting the.... the..." He trails off, gritting his teeth and squeezing his eyes in frustration.

After taking a few breathes through the nose, Devarus regained some of his composure. "Bluntly speaking--" He glances to Runt, and being not wholly convinced all was well there, he swapped to [Elvish].

 As Elsara and Val are considering his words, Devarus then sharply looks to Runt. "Ms. Ruu, I -- that was rude of me. But if you would be so kind, when did you, uh... how do I put this... when did you start 'feeling' the way you do now about Lord Vlad?"

(Asuming Vlad has closed his door to us)

As Vlads effects fail from runts mind and Deva inquires of her, a shadow falls over her. Her knuckles turn a pale greenish white ans she clenches her shaking fists. Her face dips and an audible noise could be herd as she grits her teeth. Her rage is practically visible. Almost radiating darkly from her. 

In a single motion she turns to closed front door and strikes it as hard as she can with her axe.

She screams I'LL KILL YOU!! as she batters and hacks at the door, desperate to cleave the man who stole her will in two.

Retcon: Vlad's hold would not ware off until late night (lasts 24 hours). Runt can tell the party though that she started feeling this way about Vlad when she went with him to guard Victor the other night. When everyone thought there was an assassin around but it was just Val.

Following the Retcon:

If Runt says as much about the timing, then while the others are still deliberating, Devarus asks following a grimace, "And was it something he said to you, or... uh, was it perhaps how he had looked to you perhaps? I know this is a bit invasive as well, and for that I do apologize. So, do forgive this old man for prying. It's just... from what I can vaguely remember, you seemed a bit, uh... uncomfortable around him prior to that."

Vlad and I are still super best friends for a bit longer ?

Runt will express how, after considering it before and durring the "assassination attempt" She realized how great Vlad was.

Devarus nods then looks to the ground and mumbles to himself. "Never should've allowed it." Then with a sigh, he looks up to Runt. "So, no words or gestures or a look. Just... feeling different. Hm... That does not bode well. If only there was... hmmn..." He glances over to the others hoping to see them having figured out anything from what's been learned so far. "And nothing else happened while you were guarding, right? He hadn't, uh... asked anything of you in particular or behaved strangely?" He asked warily, looking for any deception.

Waiting on Elsara, Va or Runtl to say anything or move on.

"Well " says Valwaryn " this certanly changes things. I am thinking now that Viktor staying has more to do with this weird effect that to passion or love. Do we know that Afetus Uti could do that Elsara?"

Runt looks oddly at her friends I don't understand. What's wrong with Mr. Vlad? He's a great guy and a wonderful host.

While Elsara mulled over Val's question, Devarus took it upon himself to answer. "He's also has the...." The words catch in his throat for a second or two. "Let's... just say there are a few peculiarities that were left unanswered by our dear Host that has not diminished certain concerns, dear Ms. Ruu. The matter of your sudden, uh, affection for him for instance being one of them." He then goes over to pat her shoulder. "But not worry! I'm sure we'll come come some solution relatively shortly. Right?" He turned to the others with a plastered on smile.

Retroactive Arcana: 8

Elsara snaps out of her little daydream, thinking of some sort of sappy romantic tale of a hidden lord and a tall dark stranger. "Hmm? Oh, right. Magic. Hmm, well, there wasn't any active magic from the effects, but there could be something else afoot." (Pending check above.)

Thinking a bit on it, it probably wasn't Affectus Uti at work. That form of magic is especially potent and even having Detect Magic active while around that magic gives Elsara a headache. It's highly unlikely this lord has figured out some way to mask that kind of magic. Vlad himself didn't seem like a powerful mage that would know such Charm Magic that could last for this long and also mask it with something like Magic Aura. In fact, he seemed to generally lack the ability to cast magic. That just leaves one explanation: Vlad's charm abilities is not purely magical and more of an innate ability. Humanoids possessing such abilities is nothing more than tales and fiction. This means Vlad is some kind of creature that has the ability to charm their targets.

"Well, Lord Vladimir could perhaps have just a strong charismatic personality." Elsara suggests. "He did seem well spoken and I've read of people who could topple kingdoms with just their words. On the other hand, Lord Vladimir could be more than what he seems, and it could be an innate charm that he can utilise, rather than arcane might."

"Anyway if he is using that power to subdue Viktor's will and forcing him to stay as he tried to do with our friend... that is wrong..." replies Valwaryn.

"I've read and heard of similar stories as well, Elsara. And given what Mr. Valwaryn here discovered and I have even seen, his charm definitely goes beyond being well spoken. Never you mind everything else about this whole area." Devarus added frankly. "The real question is... What do you we do? If we leave, who knows what will happen Viktor. Before that... whatever he is gets 'bored'. So again, do either of you have any idea how we might at least better protective ourselves?"
