Hesitantly, he turns back down the way he came and starts to lead Calitynia and Rilt down the road. Meanwhile Jaime, Rena, and Glann melt into the trees off the road, quickly blending into the foliage.
You eventually come to another bend in the road, and the man leading you refuses to go further. "Right around there is where we were...Gods help them."
Rilt and Calitynia: As you move slowly around the corner, you see the site of the ambush. Up the road a wrecked wagon lies toppled, surrounded by armored corpses. Strange hunchbacked figures picking through the remains. From beneath their dark cloaks just scaly wings, and sharp reptilian features.
Jaime, Rena, and Glann: Your off-road adventure has you elevated above the road now, but the outcropping is angled upwards such that you can't quite see what's going on. You still have line of sight of Rilt and Calitynia.
So far, none of you have been seen by the strange attackers. To attempt to move closer unseen, Rilt and Calitynia will also need to roll stealth.

Calitynia puts up a hand to try to wordlessly get Rilt to pause. She waits for the other group to get further ahead, to a position where they could attack these dark cloaked scaly figures.
Given the pause, she takes a look at the scene before her, trying to see if there are any of the travelers still alive or any survivors among wounded. (Perception: 17)
She also grabs her light crossbow, preparing to attack if necessary.
(OOC - Curious about range. Her crossbow is 80 ft. No point sneaking forward if in range.)
Watching Calitynia pause and grab her crossbow, Jaime signals to the others to get low, creeping forward towards the edge of the outcrop, but not peeking over.
Glann follows and lays down next to Jaime and Rift having a quick look over the edge to see what they are dealing with.

But you are able to pick out distinctive horned helmets. These were no mere soldiers, but fellow Knights of Solamnia. ((Closest one from where you can hit without them noticing is at 75 feet.))
Rilt: Reptilian humanoids? You've never seen or heard of anything like these creatures.

As he hears Cali's voice ring out, Jaime stands up and crests the outcropping overlooking the scene. He quickly scans the situation, chooses a suitable target (one that is not asleep), and places a Hex on them.
He stretches his hand out, sending a silver lance of energy through the air towards them.

Rilt continues closing the gap (I believe I'm able to get next to the bottom left bad guy) and swings his warhammer in a down-stroke meant to smash his opponent's head down into his torso.
