On the second day, _____ casts Demiplane. Within this demiplane, the dwarf casts Mordenkainen's Private Sanctum (choosing options 3-6). He then casts Wish to replicate the effects of Clone. "Can't own the world if I'm dead. It'll be good to have a backup in the event I die." The dwarf leaves the demiplane and allows the clone to begin growing and developing to its mature stage.
If there is still leftover hide from the goats, ______ uses Fabricate to create a set of hide armor which he then equips. He takes a hunk of the dead wood outside and uses his bone dagger to carve two incredibly crude statues of a lion. He inspects them thoroughly, memorizing each knot in the wood and imperfection in his carvings before placing one inside the mighty fortress and the other in his backpack. He then casts and recasts Enhance Ability, using Bear's Endurance, until he gets a max of 12 total temporary hit points (it's one of his signature spells).
______ walks to one of the towers of his mighty fortress that overlooks the valley and eyes the outpost/ hamlet at G19. The dwarf casts Teleport to put himself at F19. If he teleports successfully, he will begin to make his way to the outpost/ hamlet. He will not enter the confines of the outpost/ hamlet before verifying that it is a non-hostile area.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
I think Viewed once is accurate for the Teleport mishap table but I'll give you one stage higher, Seen Casually because you are looking at it Tele port success roll: 13
Casting the powerful Teleport spell, you land west of your target 2.4 miles away. With a relatively safe and uneventful walk, you make it to your target in just under 50 minutes. (retcon spells to travel faster)
As you approach the encampment, you are met with a guard who wears simple hide armor and wields a spear. "Halt, who goes there? What business do you have way out here?"
If he teleports successfully, he will begin to make his way to the outpost/ hamlet. He will not enter the confines of the outpost/ hamlet before verifying that it is a non-hostile area.
Upon approaching the encampment and realizing it wasn't outwardly hostile, ______ would've cast Enhance Ability (Eagle's Splendor) before making first contact with the place.
______ puts his arms up to show that he means no harm, "I'm a miner, a naive one at that. I had hoped to check the mountain range west of here for potential mining spots. Realized as I got closer that there are safer ways of making a living than risking the dangers of the wilderness. Figured I'd turn back now, since this is one of the last settlements that goes this far out west. Hoping I could find some lodging, a warm meal, and probably a bath."
As you leave the guard, he reminds you to, "Stick to the tavern, and stay out of the way of the recruits." You enter the encampment. You see small groups running drills with spears and swords There is a rustle in the outpost, you can hear chatter about Orcs and the word Sweepers is used over and again.
After listening for a while, you glean that you are in a Special training outfit for Sweeping the Darkwood of Orcs along the Vesper border. One man in uniform and chain mail appears different, wielding a longsword, a captain or lieutenant, perhaps.
You follow the advice of the Guard and enter the Tavern. It's empty, with boys mopping the floor and cleaning the tables. The Bar Keeper asks if you have money to pay for lodging in the back. He eyes you for way too long and asks, Do you want to move some heavy beams in the stables to earn some coin?
The Bar Keeper introduces himself. "I'm Hari Foster. I run most of the infrastructure around this outpost. I'm no soldier, but I do a lot of work and I know how to get the job done. Me and my sons run the Tavern, the Stables, the laundry, you name it. I try not to ask the Soldiers for anything, they've got training and orders. And we are so, gods far out there, we rarely get travelers. I've heard of them constructed folks, fordgedmen. Seen them from afar, saw them lifting buildings and making ships back in Diamond City. My sons, they work hard but are still young."
"Lieutenant Hayes commands this outpost. I guess he's a fair man, takes in new recruits daily. I don't know much about him, but he's honest and maybe a little quiet. He does seem to get a bit stressed when there are so many recruits around, as of late. The truth is that I mostly deal with the Exchequers, they pay all the tabs and help me keep the kitchens stocked."
"I named my six sons and over the years, I had the chance to adopted five more boys. Their names are: Felix, Alden, Darwin, Ogden, Sheridan, Trevin, Ashby, Oakley, Bertrand, Guildford, and Rudyard. Those are the Fosters, their mother died years ago and all my daughters live in Sapphire City with my Sisters learning to be seamstresses. When Felix turns 16, next year, I guess, he'll take over the Tavernhall and I'll have more time to travel and visit my Sisters in Sapphire City.
"Looking for more work, I know at quitting time, the Kitchen gets really busy, and all my boys are either cooking or waiting tables. I can't pay much, 1 gp per day, and 1 gp to help me with those wood beams. Otherwise, you should check with Hayes, you could become a recruit, work for the Sweepers or if you are a more timid soul, go help with caravan duty. Not much else pays out here."
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
______ thinks a moment to consider his option. Joining the Sweepers seemed interesting, but the dwarf knew too little about the realm to start involving himself in affairs where violence and possibly politics were involved. Right now, the priority was to lay low and make preparations in the shadows. Caravaning could be good, it was the perfect cover to roam the land. Collect information and make a small bit of coin while going at it. But being on the road had too many unknown variables. Plus, ______ knew Teleport so there wasn't a need to secure means of travel.
_______ finally decided to take Hari's offer to work in the kitchen for today and move the wooden beams. The dwarf also asked Hari if there was a place he could stay in town. Preferably, a place that was affordable and provided a private room.
When it came time to work in the kitchen, ______ went somewhere private to cast Enhance Ability (improving his wisdom checks) so that he could better listen in on any customer's conversation. Hoping to gather any useful information he could.
One Soldier, who sits drinking ale, is a traveling messenger from the far outpost. He has been visiting all the outposts, along the Darkwoods. Now that he has reached the Westmost outpost, his mission has come to an end. Now, celebrates his eight day journey, with fellow soldiers who buy him ale. Without regards to the confidentiality of his message, he speaks freely now of his report, a gathering force consisting of one hundred Orcs strong have been spotted, just beyond the trees. Way out where the Big Tree Settlement used to be, is a new Outpost, Far Outpost, where troops are being sent by the dozens, so that they can respond in force, if necessary.
Still, there are rumors of Caravans that disappear along the trails. Whispers of Orog raiders along the trade routes. Always empty caravans targets, on their way back to get more supplies.
There is a rumor of an Outlaw Town, far east and south of Far Outpost, where a small military outpost was abandoned and taken over by criminals and thieves, who now call it Oasis, Outlaw Town, and Scum Town.
There are merchants, heading back to Sapphire City in the morning, with tales of illicit commerce. Crude business deals between the waring mercantile houses, causing prices on certain commodities like rice and corn to increase 5 coppers per pound. Potatoes and Bread are all that they serve in this outpost, and the reason is because of a monopoly caused by a conflict between two Merchant Guilds.
A retired adventurer, who calls this outpost home, tells stories of his old explots. In his younger years, he lead expeditions to dig up ancient shrines from long lost religions and cults. He tells of a Cult of the Dragon shrine, filled with kobolds and human cultists who still worshiped the Worms.
There are still other talk of the Circle of Wisdom and the Defenders Order, heroes who protect the realm and the crown of Vesper. These heroes are brilliant gems in the dark days of looming war with the Orcs, once again.

"Well, they say that back when the hero Vesper was carving out the kingdom, he battled great evils, dragon lords, cult of the wyrm, even elementals, to make the lands free, and that is our kingdom. To mark the peace, he make a council of heroes called the Circle of Wisdom. >>"I've been traveling the roads a long time. Enough to be out of touch with the local news and none too informed about the bigger cities. Mind giving me a history lesson on each city? Maybe I can make something of myself in one of them." Emerald City is full of fashion and commerce. It doesn't have the largest Play House, but it has the most of any other city. The city is full of wealthy merchants. Sapphire City is the second largest city, with a good mix of different Merchant Houses and has a big library and just about anything you could ever need to find. Diamond City is where the Vesper Castle is housed. You can find the largest Play House of anywhere and the most famous Nobles and Merchants. It's the largest city and everything flows from Diamond City out to the other Cities and towns.

He begins sketching maps of his expeditions. With the time it takes to dig through his stuff to find old maps and to draw you new ones, it will take the old adventurer 2 days to produce six maps of archeological sites.
>>"Wow, if one was hoping to become an apprentice what would they have to do?" It's possible to become an apprentice. First you have to be introduced to a Defender and then you have to be accepted into the ranks. It's a highly competitive position and few ever have the chance to apply.
______ head turns in curiosity to the mention of the Play House. "What's a Play House?"he asks simply.
