OOC Meta comment Some of the meta combats, that you know of, for this campaign are Orc Invasion, Orc Ambush, Defenders (individually or in small groups of 3 or 4), Dragon Lords, Ancient Temples.
Dragon Lords You have already gathered enough information to fight any of the five Dragon Lords, in any order you like, with extra points for looting a carcass. Still counts as a success if you manage to use banishment, disintegrate, or true polymorph, but if you leave a body, you can harvest the carcass for parts and ingredients to sell or craft magic items.
Ancient Temples You have also discovered a high level NPC that can be either a hook or a follower. If you have the means to recruit Yoku, I would NPC him fo you, if you want. Yoku's hook is to give you locations of Ancient Archeological dig sites, that historically turned up Evil Temples, which have been completely looted over the years. However, OOC knowledge will lend that if you go there and explore enough, you will find high level threats as follows:
Feel free to use this out of character information as a player to make choices for your character in-character, not necessarily having the OOC knowledge, but to help you make informed decisions, since this campaign is a very large sandbox. Please let me know if you have something else in mind. I may have some other hooks and combats prepared, so you can go off script, choose your own path (sandbox). Otherwise, depending on how you get there or the Defenders or Orc War timelines, there will be some random encounters along the way.
"A pleasure to meet you Yoku! I'm..." ______ pauses momentarily, realizing that he knows nothing about the person he is. He digs deep inside himself, hoping to find a memory. For a while, there's nothing—only the well of magic coursing through him and the deep desire to rule the world. Until finally, a name echoes through the dwarf's mind. Where did it come from, who did it belong to, was it his? Nevertheless, it was a name, "... Roark Silvermane."
Roark extends a hand to shake Yoku's. "I appreciate you. Once the maps are done, I'll stop by to retrieve them." (For now, Roark won't make allies with Yoku. He needs the flexibility to do as he pleases without the risk of someone ratting him out.)
Roark returns back to the tavernhall to move the beams for the tavern keep as promised. (Let me know if there are rolls for this activity.)
Roark will use Animate Objects to move the beams. If the beams are small and few enough, he will simply animate and have them move themselves. If they are too large or numerous for all of them to be animated, Roark animates the biggest thing in the room that is capable of lifting the beams. He has the big, animated object make the Athletic checks while he helps.
Stop me if I go too far: Once the job is done, Roark collects his pay from working the kitchen and moving the beams (if he's successful). He'll find a cheap place to stay that offers him his own room. Once in his room, he locks the door and places the wooden lion he carved on a table or shelf. Roark will return to his mighty fortress in the mountains: first casting Private Sanctum (with options 3-6) and then teleporting to the other wooden lion he carved and left in his fortress. (Not exactly sure if it's how teleport works, but Roark carved the two lions to be used as associated objects).

Sorry for the delay, I was busy these past few days getting things set up to go back to college :)

Using Shape Water, you carefully freeze the water into slushy snow. Gathering all the snow together, you build a snow mound, roughly the size and shape of a man. You take a rough stone to saw off a locket of your own hair. Placing the hair on your snow "man", so that the tuft is sticking out the top, you sprinkle the ruby dust over the hair and snow as it bleeds down over the snow you begin casting. The ruby dust bleeds down over the white of the snow, turning the snow "man" red, as you chant and cast for 12 hours, the mound slowly grows definition and begins to look like you, at least like a doll that resembles you. When the 12 hours are completed the Simulacrum opens its eyes and speaks, "You are me."
Sorry for the delay, I was busy these past few days getting things set up to go back to college :)
no problem. Play By Post is all about posting when you can.
Roark smiles at his simulacrum, "You are the fruit of my ambitions, which carries the seed to bear more fruit. You will serve me well. From now on, you are designated with the callsign: Alpha 1."
Explanation of the callsign logic: - If Roark creates more simulacrums in the future, their callsigns would progress down the alphabet names -> Beta 1, Charlie 1, Delta 1, etc. - If Roark has his simulacra create another simulacrum via wish, then their callsigns would progress in their numerals -> Alpha 2, Alpha 3, Alpha 4. - As these are callsigns (and not names), this logic will hold true even if the simulacrum isn't a copy of Roark. So if Alpha 4 is a simulacrum of Roark and makes a simulacrum of a random barkeep, the barkeep simulacrum would be designated as Alpha 5 (barkeep).
Question for DM: If Alpha 1 casts Wish to create some other effect that requires them to roll the percentile dice and fails, would that failure prevent Alpha 1 from being able to cast Wish again or would that also affect Roark?
Day 3: 7am-7pm (Simulacrum) Fabricate, 4th Simulacrum, 7th
When the Simulacrum spell completes, Alpha 1 will only have access to your unspent spell slots and unable to regain expended spell slots. Because of this, Alpha 1 won't be able to cast wish. However, if you rest and gain all your spell slots back tomorrow, you can have Alpha 1 create a Simulacrum of you with all spell slots unspent.
Additionally, before you sleep, you can use a 5th level spell, conjure elemental, to summon an earth elemental or xorn before the end of Day 3. Concentrating on this spell for an hour, for the next five hours (5th x3, 6th x2) and sleep between midnight and 6am and I'll roll more mineral survey checks
Using this data, we can average the rolls for next time. Instead of 1d6, 1d4, 10d100, we can divide all of the results by 5 and then add them all up to get 30K and some statistical averages.
Normalize and embellish, so this would be the haul for each casting going forward. No need to roll. Next we should consider moving locations to prevent diminishing returns and consider rolling on a risk and stability chart for the cave integrity after this much mining. calcite, 1000 copper, 1000 gold, 1000 magnetite, 1000 aquamarine, 1500 diamond, 1500 emeralds, 1500 garnet, 1500 onyx, 1500 sapphire, 1500 ruby, 1500 silver, 1500 lead, 3000 zinc, 3000 iron, 3000 quartz, 3000 titanium, 3000 total 31000
Unfortunately, Roark does not have Conjure Elemental as a prepared spell. Also, good catch on the spent spell slots; I know simulacrums can't regain spell slots, but I forgot that Roark already used his 9th level spell slot that same morning.
Is it possible for Roark to use Fabricate on all the mined gold and convert it into gp? If so, then Roark will do that.
If Roark can create the gp he will also proceed with the next following steps: 1. Carve another small, wooden statue of a lion. 2. Climb to the highest tower of his mighty fortress and look towards Sapphire City. 3. Cast Teleport 1 mile off from Sapphire City.

You have the option to keep the raw gems and minerals in a tradable form but clearly mined and raw. Otherwise, Fabricate would turn both the minerals and the gems into bars, coins, and jewels/gems, so the origin would be difficult to determine, DC 20 insights/investigation/history
1. You have another lion statue 2. The day is clear and you can see that far, no problem 39 3. Teleport will auto succeed, since you can see the location you have selected, no mishap chance.
After casting Teleport (on up to eight willing creatures), you land 1 mile away from Sapphire City, in a remote location, close to a couple of farms and outside of prying eyes.

If Roark can create the gp he will also proceed with the next following steps:
1. Carve another small, wooden statue of a lion.
2. Climb to the highest tower of his mighty fortress and look towards Sapphire City.
3. Cast Teleport 1 mile off from Sapphire City.
Ro Aleron (Ro the Red) -> Illithid, Wizard 8 (Chronugist) // AURYN
You have the option to keep the raw gems and minerals in a tradable form but clearly mined and raw. Otherwise, Fabricate would turn both the minerals and the gems into bars, coins, and jewels/gems, so the origin would be difficult to determine, DC 20 insights/investigation/history
1. You have another lion statue
2. The day is clear and you can see that far, no problem 39
3. Teleport will auto succeed, since you can see the location you have selected, no mishap chance.
After casting Teleport (on up to eight willing creatures), you land 1 mile away from Sapphire City, in a remote location, close to a couple of farms and outside of prying eyes.
