The last man at arms falls to the ground. There is no other movement or sound of any immediate threats in the hallway. The doors on the far end are still closed.
Vrox, from his position in the NE corner asks the others, "A narrow hall like this, does it feel like a sort of trap to you?" He eyes the walls and the statues with suspicion, looking for anything that looks unusual or that could indicate a trap here.
If Vrox doesn't see anything particularly unusual, he still suggests caution: "If we're going to hurry straight through, maybe have Saintess or Lord Akkron could hold the western doors open until we're sure that we don't need to make a hasty retreat." He imagines opening the door only to see an ancient dragon ready to breath crackling lighting right down the middle of the hall. Or a dark wizard ready to enchant the statues into a deadly troop of defenders.

Tyekanik, now at the east end of the hall, is eager to press ahead. Still Huge-sized, his bulk fills the space in front of the doors. He places a massive hand on one of the doors and leans close, listening for anything on the other side. Perception9
The lich nods, taking a position in the open doorway.
"You will probably want to keep the healer close to the rest of the party," Lord Akkron points out. "So it makes more sense if I remain here to hold the gate."

Unhappy that the market got rid of individual purchases for one-off subclasses, magic items, and monsters?
As you listen to the door at the far end of the hallway, you hear nothing. There is no sound coming from behind either, it is as if you have been abandoned or left alone.

Vrox, apparently not detecting anything particularly wrong with the current hallway or the statues, nocks an arrow and gets ready for the group to move into the next room. He moves back from the door slightly and hides in the shadows to the west of the most NE statue before the doors. That way, he's hopefully hidden from anything they might find on the other side of the door.
Tyekanik hears nothing beyond the door. As the others get into position, Khessa moves up next to him to help hold the door against any new opponents. Tyek pushes (pulls?) open the door that's in front of Khessa. That way, if that door opens, he'll hopefully be able to hold the door in front of him shut, if needed. Tyek starts gently at first, not wanting to slam the door open, but if he meets resistance, he'll use his strength to push / pull the door open firmly and smoothly.
If the door opens, peer through into the next chamber: Perception22

As you look in, you see the chapel of the castle. Colored light filters through tall stained-glass windows. The chapel has a ninety-foot-high domed ceiling. A balcony runs the length of the west wall, fifty feet above the floor. In the center of the balcony, two dark shapes are slumped in tall chairs.
Benches coated lie about the floor in jumbled disarray. It appears as though the dark forces may have come in here and vandalized it. Blood is everywhere, as so are the bodies of servants who may have sought shelter in here, their broken bodies mixed in with the tossed benches. Beyond this debris, lit by a piercing shaft of light, an altar stands upon a stone platform. The sides of the altar are carved with bas-reliefs of angelic figures entwined with grape vines. The light from above falls directly on a silver statuette. A cloaked figure is draped over the altar, and a black mace lies on the floor near its feet.
Tyek looks inside. Then he opens the other door of the double doors and says to the others in the hall, "Chapel. Lots of blood." He steps into the chapel, and if nothing attacks, he waves the others forward. He assumes that Clarac or Saintess will be able to tell which god originally consecrated the chapel and whether that divine presence still protects the chapel.
"What a horrible sight," says Clarac as she enters the chapel. She uses her divine sense to detect any demons nearby and whether the chapel has been desecrated in addition to being vandalized. She also uses it to sense whether any consecrated objects remain and whether there are any desecrated objects.
She will point out whatever she notices, if anything.

You sense a turmoil, a conflict. The blood of the innocent spilled here in this sacred place, the deity to which the chapel was for, his power is in conflict with the darkness in an attempt to cleanse what has been done.

Vrox stows his bow in his quiver and equips his shield. Since nothing jumped out and attacked Tyek and Khessa, Vrox will enter the chapel and start with just checking the area for any hidden foes among the dead.
Vrox asks Khessa, "Can Anator check the balcony to ensure that there are no fiends hiding up there?" He's not sure whether Saintess or Clarac would be able to sense fiends 50' away. If he doesn't see any stairs to ascend to the balcony, Vrox looks at the walls to see whether there are any columns, statuary, or carvings that are rough enough for him to climb. (OOC: Vrox has a climbing speed of 40 ft., so if it's climbable, he could get up to the balcony in just 1 or 2 rounds, but he's probably more accustomed to climbing cliffs and trees than castle walls.)
Finally, Vrox checks the room for hidden or secret doors, saying, "Some chapels in war-torn regions have a hidden sanctuary or a secret emergency exit, though I doubt that anyone escaped this slaughter since it seems like the Duke's family invited this evil into the castle themselves."
Khessa warns her companions: "The statuette on the altar has a magical hue around it, as well as the mace lying next to the figure next to the altar. I will try to understand what properties they have - perhaps they could be useful" and begins a well-known divination ritual.
At Vrox's suggestion, the blonde arcane warrior smiles: "Anator will be pleased" and sends her brother to check the balcony as requested.
Her smile widens, as she sees The Saintess trying to reconsecrate the place... The Nefarious Duo deserves many things - but veneration is not one of them!

"The original chapel of the castle..." Khessa comments "Who knows to what extent it has been corrupted and if it is possible to reconsecrate it?"
The blonde arcane warrior begins to slowly chant arcane formulas, tracing esoteric arabesques in the air... at the end of the ritual, she concentrates to discern any magical emanations present.

While you can see the balcony, you are not sure how to get up there. There are two openings on either side of the double doors.
