On the way down to the dungeon, Vrox tries to convince the convert into giving them any information: "I have long fought infernal forces. These demons you sought to follow would have you throw your life away in a fruitless effort to stop us. They care less for your life than we do! Now that you surrendered, if we lose, I'm sure that the demons will torture you to death. You would serve your own interest by helping us to victory. Where does the duke and the leader of the cult gather? What does this cult seek to do here at the castle? We will soon find out anyway, but if you want to live to see the dawn tomorrow, you'd best tell us anything that you know!"
[[ OOC: Well... If Vrox fails to extract further information from the prisoner, Khessa, as originally intended, leaves him locked in his cell (as well as tied up) and resumes the exploration from where it had left off. ]]
The prisoner states, "His lordship bade us to come to the great hall and after not seeing him for some time, he appeared a changed man. New people, strangers we have not seen, we with him. He told us great fortune is upon all, all of our earthy wants and desires would be granted, we would be the lords of the new era. He spoke of a new destiny, or a new empire of which I knew not of what he spoke, I thought it was all nonsense. Then one of the strangers, bald headed with the eight-pointed star began chanting and a purplish-red haze fell upon us. It enter us all, and we all fell to the ground, possessed. I felt my soul was ripped from me, I heard voices in my head, I couldn't control it. I tried to block it out, but I couldn't. I purred of desires and pleasures beyond count, the other showed glory on the battlefield, blood for the blood god. was all I heard. I knew I was lost, though I didn't wanted to be lost. Part of me was still me, and fought. They placed this brand on my head, called us the new legion, and sent us out to slaughter all those who did not join and were sacrificed in their name. Blood for the blood god, skulls for the skull throne. I hated it, I enjoyed it, I want it to end."
"The fact that you managed to at least rebel in the end, so that you survived instead of dying to the orders of the voices in your head, means that you have achieved a victory" Khessa tries to console the prisoner, patting him on the back. "Maybe you will win more. Maybe you will win yourself back. Never despair".
'Who knows...' the blonde arcane warrior is thinking 'Maybe that dear divine child Flute will be able to save this poor guy altogether'.
If the prisoner has no useful information to give to Vrox, the tall adventuress is ready to resume the exploration and cleanup operations...
As the group is in the dungeon area, you sense the dark energy you recognize from both Azash and Slaanesh is building close by. The hairs on your arms rise as there is an energy pulsating through the lower area. You can sense that something dark is building near by.
Khessa is disturbed by the Dark Energy that pulses almost palpably and begins to look around: "I thought we had explored every nook and cranny, down here... Where does this... unholy emanation come from? Clarac, you are more sensitive than I to these things... Can you figure out where it comes from? Maybe there is some passage that we have missed".
In the lower lever, Clarac replies to Khessa, "I do not recall seeing any other doors on this level either. Perhaps there is a secret passageway, or a chamber that is inaccessible from here.
"Unfortunately, my spiritual sensitivities do not extend through stone walls and floors. If need be, I can cast a spell that will point us to the nearest demon."
She tries using her Divine Sense in the ritual room next to the cells, where the illusory dragon had been.
OOC:

There's another door at the end of the hallway we had the most recent fight in, but the evil energy is coming from downstairs, where the cells were and where Lord Akron's illusory dragon violently interrupted that ritual, right?

As you use your divine sense, from out of nowhere a small white bird appears, and sits on your shoulder, and speaks to you. "You need to go up one level, take stairs in large round tower down, and it will take you to where you must go. They're cheating!!"
"So far, cheating has not allowed them to defeat us..." Khessa smiles at the white bird "We will make sure that this is also the case now!"
Before setting off, with her Death Lance firmly in both hands, the blonde arcane warrior turns her blue eyes to the prisoner locked in the cell and asks the white bird: "They cheated with him too... Do you by any chance think you can help him?"
"Somehow, I'm not especially surprised to hear that they aren't following the rules,"he mutters. "Let's finish this and then take a well-earned break from this madness."

Unhappy that the market got rid of individual purchases for one-off subclasses, magic items, and monsters?
Clarac stands as still as she can and listens to the bird on her shoulder. She's almost certain it is not a demon in disguise, but in the back of her mind she remembers that the trickiest fiends can sometimes appear as celestials, not that it would change her course of action here.
When the bird stops talking to her, Clarac thanks it, turns to her companions, and says, "There's no time to delay. We must head upstairs and descend again in the round tower!"

The bird looks and cocks it head, looking at the prisoner. You feel a surge of energy, and it appears the prisoner goes to sleep, but he is not breathing anymore. "No, he was beyond normal help. All I could do was ease his pain and torment."
Khessa approaches and gently strokes the bird's feathers with her fingers: "I'm sorry... seeing that he had at least enough willpower to give up instead of fighting to the death, it gave me hope..."
The blonde arcane warrior has a light of hard determination in her blue eyes, as she begins to lead the party according to the instructions received: "The cheaters will have to answer for his death too".
Unless something prevents it, the tall adventuress follows in fact the path that has been indicated, psychologically preparing herself for a showdown with the Nefarious Duo - or at least with their major representatives.

[[OOC: As I said, busy few weeks here. I'm dropping in and trying to get my bearings.
Was Flute/bird talking about going up one level from where we were at the time in the prison cells of the lowest dungeon? Because one level up from there was the kitchen, servants' dining hall, and wine cellar, and I thought that we had already checked all of those rooms and stairs? Or did Flute mean to go up one level from the chapel balcony level where we captured the blood convert?
If I understood the servant boys in the wine cellar, they said that the level of the chapel balcony (and the hall where we had our most recent fight and captured the blood convert) was "for the Duke's family" and "his personal area is another floor above that one." I'd guess that Flute was saying to go up to the Duke's personal area, one level above the chapel balcony level, and then look for a large, round tower room that has stairs leading back down to a private location in the dungeons. Is that right?]]
The bird takes to wing, and leads you up one floor where there is an open door in a large circular tower. The bird leads you down the stairs, and as you descend, you feel the building dark energy you have felt before when associated with Azash and Slaanesh. You descend deep and enter under the castle into the crypt area. The catacombs fill an area roughly 110 feet east to west by 180 feet north to south, and the floor is covered in several inches of bat guano. The catacombs are made up of 10-foot-wide arched walkways running between 10-foot-square crypts, which serve as pillars that support the 20-foot-high ceiling.
There is a large opening, chanting and flickering light from an opening to the south, and another to the east.

[[OOC: So the crypts stretch from floor to ceiling. When you say "walkways," you're just referring to the aisles that run between and around the crypts, right? Or did you mean that they are elevated or suspended in some way, like a boardwalk?
Is the party entering the chamber from the west?
It looks like the north and south exits are blocked by portcullises or some sort of closed gate, like the wine cellar where we found the boys. Is that right?
The chanting and flickering light comes from both the southern and eastern exits? Or just from the one to the south?
Is there any light in this chamber other than the light coming from the southern exit? Is the whole chamber currently considered Darkness or Dim Light conditions?]]
"It seems our cleanup has reached its critical moment..." Khessa murmurs to the others "There must be demons or cultists èerforming dark rituals, both to the east and south".
"East is closer," the blonde arcane warrior reasons "so I suggest we head there immediately, penetrating as far as we can - that way if the forces to the south hear the sounds of battle and rush in, some of us can try to block them at the entrance to the east area - maybe even with a simple Wall of Force (Master Akkron can easily cast it wiht his Staff of Power) - while the others finish wiping out the east forces".
The tall adventuress waits a moment to give everyone a chance to agree or disagree - or propose something else... Then, if no one disapproves or counter-proposes, she dashes off towards the east.

You are entering from the west, the exits are not blocked (ignore the dots), the chanting is coming from the south and east, there are some torches within the crypt but most of the light comes from the east and south.
