"I'm a little scratched up," Reggie says to Artus. "Why don't you follow Tilo and I'll guard the rear." When Lando looks at him, Reggie shakes his head. "I'm fine. Let's keep moving."
Artus catches the javelin and stores it away. His axe at the ready for anything else that might be lurking in the rest of the basement. "We should be prepared that there are other monsters down here."
"Sounds like the chanting is coming from over there." Tilo points to their left, down the southern hallway. "I say we check it out." Barring any counter orders from Reggie or Andrei, Tilo leads the way towards the sounds. He scans their surroundings for danger.
As you walk down the hall Tilo notices a pit trap. He wraps on a section of the floor with his shortsword and the floor gives way to the trap, on the bottom of the trap is a whole lot of spikes. The trap is only five feet in length and you guy easily jump over it and continue down the hall.
You come to an intersection. Its obvious from where you're standing the chants seem to be coming from down the stairs.
"It it wasn't for that fog, I'd say we just leave and burn the place to the ground. What a death trap; how do people live like this?" Tilo comments after they bypass the pit trap. He then leads the way towards the sound once again, ever cautious for more traps or hidden enemies. He takes each step slowly, holding his glowing shortsword up for light.
As you descend down the stairs you can hear the chanting getting louder. The stairs lead you down 20 feet before turning down another small flight of stairs that drop you into a large room.
The ghostly chant emanating from the south-eastern corridor fills this room. You can discern a dozen or so voices saying, over and over, “He is the Ancient. He is the Land.”
Around the room are 13 niches that hold various objects, probably for some ancient ritual of some sort.
A small, mummified, yellow hand with sharp claws (a goblin’s hand) on a loop of rope
A knife carved from a human bone
A dagger with a rat’s skull set into the pommel
An 8-inch-diameter varnished orb made from a nothic’s eye
An aspergillum carved from bone
A folded cloak made from stitched ghoul skin
A desiccated frog lashed to a stick
A bag full of bat guano
A hag’s severed finger
A 6-inch-tall wooden figurine of a mummy, its arms crossed over its chest
An iron pendant adorned with a devil’s face
The shrunken, shriveled head of a halfling
A small wooden coffer containing a dire wolf’s withered tongue
There are two exits from this room. One passage way due south of you and one to the southeast.

Reggie walks a circuit around the room, scowling at all of the strange objects. When he reaches each of the hallways, he looks down them, but does not leave the big room.

As you walk around the room you look at the various items and even though none of them are really useful they probably do something in some dark foul ritual. The chanting is very loud coming from the south-eastern corridor. As you look down the tunnel you notice the tunnel slopes down at a 20-degree angle into murky water and ends at a rusty portcullis.
The other corridor goes about ten feet then turns to the right.
Reggie walks back to the southeast corridor and looks at the others, his eyes squinting a little bit as if he has a bad headache. "The chanting is louder this way," he says, "but the corridor descends into water, and there's a gate."
Artus will look around the room at all the things... He resists the urge to touch anything.
That is until he reaches the aspergillum. He bends over and admires the craftmanship at first, but he cannot help but pick it up. He admires it in his hand before gently placing it back.

Tilo walks around the room, looking at the various items, but not touching anything. He seems incredulous and somewhat disgusted by them, "Why would anyone keep these things, let alone put them on display? I'm pretty sure that bag is full of bat shit!" He then joins Lando and Reggie by the gate. "Let's just go down the other hallway first, maybe there's a way to open the gate." As he says that he glances around to see if there's some kind of mechanism around them, possibly a hidden one, to do just that.
Nothing happens when Artus picks up any of the items.
Looking around the room with all the items, Tilo does not see any mechanism to open the door. You go down the "dry" hall first and it comes to the cultist prison area where they kept prisoners shackled until it was time for their sacrifice. Most of the rooms are long empty and dusty. but about halfway down the corridor Tilo notices one of the rooms has a secret door heading east (probably towards the water room)
"I'm a little scratched up," Reggie says to Artus. "Why don't you follow Tilo and I'll guard the rear." When Lando looks at him, Reggie shakes his head. "I'm fine. Let's keep moving."
Artus nods, and begins to follow Tilo down the hall way. He keeps a watchful eye over his shoulder to check on Reggie from time to time.

Andrei curses.
"This place is bad," he says, mostly to himself.
"But that way is the way to go, I guess," Andrei continues, pointing towards the south-east corridor with his still-glowing ice ax.
"And don't touch anything!" he warns Tilo hastily.
And that's all I have to say about that.
Glancing at all the items in the room, "This place reeks of foul, unnatural magic".

Andrei shakes his head.
"Awful," he mutters.
And that's all I have to say about that.
If there are any cells that aren't empty, Lando will investigate them.
"Just having a look is all..."
