Sir Roderick made a face but moved to pick up the bodies and throw them deeper into the scrub, searching through goblin pockets was decidedly unpleasant but he supposed there may be a key or a note or something.
Sir Roderick finds a belt pouch on the goblin boss, containing 16 sp, but nothing else of interest. The other goblin has nothing. Roderick hides the bodies in the bushes.
The sleeping goblin begins to stir a little. Syzygy knows it is only seconds before it will wake up.
A dog continues to bark somewhere inside the cave.
Quinn backs up slowly towards the group. “That dogs still barking. We can’t have this sleepy fella wake up and sound an alarm. Or stab us in the back. I’ll take care of it.”
The ranger walks over to the downed goblin, raises his battle axe with a firm two handed grip and swings down on the goblin.
To hit: 13 for 7damage.

What should have been a straightforward execution goes awry. Following a sloppy swing, Quinn's battleaxe slides off its tough leather armor and delivers the force of its blow to the dirt next to it. Goblin DC10 Perception with advantage to wake: 13

The goblin, trapped and fully awake, looks panicked.
A second dog begins to bark inside the cave. Jurgen and Syzygy catch a glimpse of movement with their darkvision inside the cave, up the short steps and in the eastern cavern. But it was too fast and vague to guess what it was.
The panicking, wakened goblin glances behind itself, perhaps sizing up an escape through the thickets.
Sir Roderick may act first, before it tries anything.
Bryony is startled by Quinn's decision to execute the sleeping goblin. Before she can protest, however, the execution goes awry, and the goblin springs up, scimitar at the ready. Sir Roderick is ready with his own brutal attack. The little halfling decides to end the goblin's suffering as quickly and cleanly as possible and slices her dagger through its throat, but she can't quite reach.
Sighing with frustration, she swings her shortsword instead. That should be enough to finish the poor creature, she thinks.
" DO goblins usually keep dogs? Wolves I have heard of ...though I suspect it is not a good life for such a noble beast."
" And of course Wargs.....though I suppose it could be said that they keep goblins..."
He glanced down at the dead goblin, " Stoic til the last and full of piss and vinegar", he reached down and took the goblins blade tucking it into his belt. " Brave little fellow.", he said wistfully.
Zyzygy turns to the kobold, "Jurgen, I appreciate the assistance. For your efforts… " and hands him 2 gold pieces.
A little louder he announces to the group "I caught a glimpse of something moving just within the cave mouth. Whatever they are, I think they know we're here."
Zyzygy attempts to look into the darkness to see if he can spot anything [perception nat 1 + 3 = 4]
